From the bestselling author of Old Dogs and The Accidental Sheriff comes the riveting Western novel, Trouble!

WHAT A GREAT WESTERN MYSTERY ADVENTURE NOVEL & SERIES
This is the first series which I have completed which was written by Ron Schwab. I can easily tell you that it will not be the last series or novels written by Ron Schwab that I am going to read.
If you are into a Western mystery action thriller, this book and series is for you. Ron has written a suspenseful, intriguing, and even touching at times. This book as quite a few insights on frontier living in 1887 in a small town in the territory of Wyoming, which is on the verge of statehood.
The characters are well defined, and you will find yourself a captive reader on the first page. Once you finish one book you'll find yourself jonesing for the next.
Quotes form "Trouble" (Lockwood Book 3) by Ron Schwab:
"I have been told that writers have more persistence than brains."
"When unscrupulous businessmen conspire with corrupt government representatives to interfere with the natural flow, they defile us all. This is a matter of principle."
"Those who waited for others to lift them up failed. Those who succeeded found the strength within themselves to improve their lot."
"It doesn't matter how smart you are unless you stop and think. I am having a long stop."
Our author Ron Schwab has a nice Series in “Lockwood, WY” “TROUBLE,” a very likeable character at such a young age has certainly lived a long life in these early years. Sammy is a firecracker herself and all in this Series are very much grass routes in action and in true spirit of this small town starting with the “Accidental Sheriff.” Mr. Schwab really does a great job of tying all the things together in that true Western Style way of that Cowboy era! I believe that if you enjoy the Cowboy Genre, this series and the others written by Mr. Schwab will become a staple in your personal library be it KINDLE or paperback/hardcover or audio! Mr. Schwab makes you want to read that “next” page, the action builds and builds and then the action or situation will unfold for you in the best possible way for the reader! Meaning that yes, he may add something into the plot, it is an extension of where he is going to create or finish the action that he started! To those that read the review before hand checking out this Ron Schwab, if you give him a chance you will be a reader of more of his wonderful details of each book that he spins your way!
Mr. Schwab can't write fast enough for me. I've enjoyed every book he has written, and this one is no exception. The star of this book is Brady (Trouble) Yates, a focus I've been eagerly awaiting.
Trouble is his usual self, running around finding business opportunities at every turn. However, his newest business causes him some major heartache. Concentrating so much on his business, he totally ignores the social part of life.
Sammy calls off Trouble's "courting." Shortly, she is seen "walking out" with a new man in town. He is everything Trouble is not. Well dressed, attentive, suave and debonair.
In the meantime, Trouble starts having difficulty with his sawmill business. He receives word that the government is seriously interested in canceling the government leases on which he depends for his sawmill business.
I've given enough spoilers. If you want to find "the rest of the story," you'll have to read the book. An activity I STRONGLY recommend.
A page-turning story filled with action, suspense, and sweet romance. Five enthusiastic stars!
The third book in the Lockwood series is filled with my favorite characters from the first two books, along with plenty of action, suspense, and sweet romance. I hope this series will continue beyond Book 3, but the epilogue wraps things up so well that the author could stop with a trilogy. We'll see.
Book 3 is titled for its main character: Brady "Trouble" Yates, an 18-year-old entrepreneur who owns several businesses in Lockwood, Wyoming, including a lumber company. A rival company--Dubois Lumbering--covets the government leases that Trouble holds on wooded lands he plans to start harvesting in the fall. Working closely with culprits in the General Land Office, Dubois officials scheme to acquire those leases by destroying Trouble's sawmill and killing its owner.
They nearly succeed. Hired by a crooked Dubois official, a gang of outlaws burns Trouble's sawmill, shoots him in the back and chest, and dumps him in the river, figuring his body will never be found. But the outlaws didn't expect to come up against our hero (Grant Coolidge), a writer of western novels who must once again put down his pen and take up his guns as a deputy sheriff.
It's a clever, twisty plot, with a nail-biting final confrontation between the forces of good and evil. Best of all, though, are the memorable characters who play major roles in this series, including Grant and Hannah, Sheriff Jim Tolliver, Deputies Bushwa Sparks and Ozzie White, and our romantic young couples--Trouble and Samantha, Bobby and Jasmine. The delightful epilogue makes all the trouble worthwhile. I enjoyed every minute of the Lockwood series and hope to read more stories about The Accidental Sheriff.
I believe I have read all of Ron Schwab's books, and have enjoyed them all. But I think I favor the Lockwood series a bit more. Probably because of the characters created in this seized, which are well developed, and who seem so lifelike that the main characters are like friends. This story, featuring the young entrepreneur named Brady "Trouble" Yates, has most of the main characters from the previous episodes, and I found it to be very heart warming. The plot moves at a steady pace, and it seems I ignored chapter breaks and read right through them without noticing their presence. I loved this book and look forward to the next in the series.
I've read all of Ron's books, and always anxiously await his next release. The writing is always excellent delivering an effortless reading experience with a solid storyline full of great characters and enough action. As I have stated in each previous review, I believe that the interaction between characters along with the accompanying dialogue is what puts him above the average in this genre! I look forward to the next release!
I really enjoyed the author continuing all the main characters plus the new ones good and bad. He kept the action moving forward at a pace it was very hard to put the book down and take a break. If you like fast paced action and some predictable things about to happen you'll love this one. I hope Ron comes up with another book with these characters. I'm sure your readers will grab it as soon as it's available. Thanks for all the entertainment.
Ron Schwab is my all time favorite Western author. He never disappoints me. This is the second book in this series. I especially like the way he blends two cultures. Although I expect there was far more racial prejudice during that time period. He glosses over that a bit too much. Overall a great story.
I am sold on Ron Schwab writing but have to say the Lockwood series is by far my favorite. Grant and Hannah, Brady and Samantha, Bobby and Jasmine, and all the other characters. Ron does a great job delivering a good story and developing all the characters he includes within his stories. I’m already waiting for the next installment.
This was a great story about the trials and tribulations of Brady (Trouble) Yates a young ambitious young man in the mid1800s West. It was very well written, full of excitement and action and included a touch of romance and mystery as well. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good western!
The Debris company was after power and money. The same as everyone who is hungry for more and more. So glad Hungry and Sam were together and happy. Jas and Bobby too. A new baby and now time to write for Grant.. It was a great story. I will go on to read the other books.
Trouble With A Capital T - The main character's name is Trouble and he's faced with plenty of his namesake as greedy business interests and crooked politicians attempt to destroy his business and take his life. Well-plotted and well-told - I'll look forward to reading further books in this series. If you like Westerns, this is a terrific book for you!
I started this trio with the 1st book, not knowing that it involved "Bushawa". Once I finished the 1st book, I read the other 2 in rapid succession. Thank you for entertaining me with this series. I have read others of your publication, but this series I love! Thank you again! I'm going to read ALL of your books. Keep up the good westerns.
I believe that I have read every book that Ron Schwab has on Amazon. There is no doubt that he is my favorite Western Author. I say the same thing every time I read one of his books.. "This is the best one yet" Like all his books, this book is interesting, exciting and the characters are endearing and likeable. Except of course for the bad guys.
All the ingredients of a good plot: colorful characters, Heroes and heroines. One hero needed his love to rehab, another had a new borne, all while thieves tried to steal lumber.
This was an outstanding book. Great story line and awesome character's. Action in this book was always happening. A definite page turner. Would highly recommend this series to all that enjoy a great western and all other books by this author.
Trouble really got into bad trouble and almost lost his life. When his friends rescue him he has a hard time wanting to get back to his busy life. Always enjoy books by Ron Schtwab and especially the ones with Trouble in them.
Highly recommend this series and author. Great writing from start to finish. Love the storyline and characters in all three books. The author weaves a great story together
Book three of this series was very interesting and sometimes hard to read due to having so many hardship! I hope this author continues this series! I will certainly be looking for the next book
Liked the main characters, especially the portal of very strong women. The males were interesting in that they didn't as always carry guns. It was a little different from the really wild and wooly of the genre. Thanks for an enjoyable read.
A well written story that catches the reader up to date with past books and weaves a suspenseful plot. The characters are makes this series a standout for me. I look forward to more books in this series.
Wonderful news when my email informs me I have a new Ron Schwab book. Especially when it is a Lockwood addition. Please continue this series. I do hope Trouble will walk again, and Dara Moon sets the world on fire.
Reilly enjoyed this book. Trouble is in 3 or 4 books by Ron Schwab. Young man at 18 who is very enterprising, This story has bad people who destroys his lumber yard and leaves him dead. Story finds him and he is unable to use his legs and finds the baddys who did it.
In all the chaos of this book I could not put it down. Trouble ,Sammy,Hanna,Grant. You can move through all your troubles and bad times as long as you have family. Awesome read.
I have another impressive western tale and enjoyed it so much, it was done in a day! You have a knack to tell a great story and I will be getting more of your work! Thank you
I throughly enjoyed reading this 5ale as it wasfilled with all of the action and adventure I've come to expect from the author. I truly love his imaginative style and have never been disappointed with any of his tales. Great stuff!
Schwab brings post Civil War western settlement to life with fantastic characters, a dose of danger, friendship bonds that seem like family, unlikely romance and an ending to tie it all together.
I will recommend this to my friends and family. Looking forward to more by this writer, as his books are the picture of the WEST that I have read in my ninety years.
