A young Yokuts Indian girl describes her life on the shores of Old Buena Vista Lake in central California and the events that led her to a Spanish mission outside the world of her people.
Although this story is a little hard for some students to follow, I think that it Pasquala is an interesting story. It truly shows the trials and tribulations of a young girl after the death of her parents. It even integrates the California Missions, and the positive relationship Pasquala had with the padres.
