I enjoy this series and picked up the second volume with curiosity. Although the subject matter from the first volume was closer to me, so I remember it better. I still believe this is important reading, because many topics are often left unspoken, and some remain unclear, which leaves many women and couples alone with matters that are important to them.
Sexuality shouldn't be surprising, and the need to visit a gynecologist shouldn't be burdened with so much stress and fear. What's disheartening is that in many areas we are civilized, we have morality, but when it comes to women's issues, many topics still remain taboo. We create a certain shell and withdrawal around them, which ultimately leaves us isolated in important matters.
I understand that political topics have dominated Poland for several years now, so books like this are necessary to show that there are other problems and challenges in society as well.
The book is light, despite tackling difficult subjects, and offers an interesting perspective on certain problems from specialists' viewpoints. Even if not all topics resonate with us personally, it's worth reading this knowledge might someday prove useful to our loved ones or show us how to protect ourselves. After all, people are everywhere, and not every gynecologist has a human touch. Paying a higher fee for a visit is certainly no guarantee that we'll be treated with the respect we deserve.
