Once upon a time, they couldn’t be apart. Now, they can’t stand to be in the same room.
Happy to live her life on her own terms, event planner Ginny Thomas has always had trouble understanding the meaning of ‘true love’. It certainly doesn’t help that her parents’ marriage has proven nothing lasts forever. She’d rather avoid heartbreak and focus on promoting body positivity and self-love to her thousands of followers on Instagram.
Gavin Rhodes is known for living wild. What his friends and family don't know is that he's living a lie. Having once loved and lost the girl who occupied his every waking thought, he’s taken to saving animals at his shelter to fill his soul. He’s happier now than he thought he would be, spending time with his parents and older brothers, even when they boss him around.
When Ginny and Gavin run into each other during a holiday party, their tumultuous history comes flooding back. Despite plans to avoid each other, she helps him with an event to raise funds for his pet shelter, which sees frustrations rise along with old tensions. To nobody’s surprise, the idea to "get it out of their systems" doesn’t go as planned.
Between hashing out the past and falling in love, Ginny and Gavin work to find a balance in their new relationship. Especially when forces out of their control threaten to put both hearts on shaky ground.
Content & Trigger Warnings: Mentions of divorce, mentions of domestic abuse. Toxic parents, infidelity (not the MCs), fat shaming and internet bullying. There’s a scene where the victim of abuse is recounting what was inflicted on her. There is use of coarse language and multiple open door sex scenes which also includes dirty talk and some light choking.
Since she was a child, Anna has lived in a world of imagination—teaching in a classroom to being an astronaut, she’s done it all.
Anna has a Masters in Creative Writing, and a love for music and writing got her jobs with Rolling Stone India and Sony Music. After a couple of years of selling her soul to advertising, she’s finally following her dream of writing books.
Currently living in South India, she rocks out to Foo Fighters and reads 300 romance novels a year. She works as a copy consultant and book editor, while sipping on copious amounts of black tea.
First I want to congratulate Anna for writing yet another romance book with delicate issues which are dealt with patience and care.
For someone who likes to read romance books with dominant men, this book is a welcome surprise and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
From the angsty and angry confessions, to the flirty banter, Gavin's confession and the character development as a whole.. this book is a complete package.. I am always ready for books with representation and the things that Anna covered in this book makes me a proud fan.
I like Dominant Men but I love Good Boys more and Gavin was the perfect man for Ginny <3
the opposite attract was the perfect vibe for this and I liked how the book dabbled between sweet and hot..
he aesthetics of this book are an utter perfection and I am in love with GAVIN and how he let Ginny do her thing and stood in corner as her biggest cheerleader.
I cant wait for all the books who's glimpse we got to see.
Second chance + no third act breakup + texts on page!
Ginny would rather avoid heartbreak and focus on her career as an event planner & promoting body positivity and self-love.
Gavin loved and lost the woman, and has focused on saving animals at the shelter he runs.
Ginny & Gavin run into each other at a holiday party, twelve years after Ginny broke Gavin’s heart. And their messy past comes back.

If you’re new here, this is an Anna P fan account. But for real, I have immensely loved every single book Anna has written, and will scream about them for forever.
I had the honor of beta reading this one months ago & I’m just so damn proud of the end result!
Ginny & Gavin are everything. They’re prickly and soft and angry and so into each other but want to deny it because hashing out their messy past is hard. I love the tension, the banter, the teasing, and the pushing each other’s buttons.
I love the character growth, and the way they show up for each other. I love the caretaking and the communication that prevents a third act breakup!
I love the cameos of all of our favorite past MCs and the new ones we get to meet in this one (plus the Easter eggs for future books!)!
The strong friendships are A+! The banter is perfection! The steamy scenes will make you blush! The trope combination is outstanding!
And I’ll spare you the spoilers, but they’re so good!
Endlessly proud of you Anna!

‼️Trigger warnings: Mentions of divorce; mentions of domestic abuse; toxic parents; infidelity, not MCs; fatshaming and internet bullying; multiple references to abandoned animals
I think what I look forward to the most about reading Anna's books is I can always expect to find complex characters. I *love* how they're fully rounded and realized. There is so much to them, and furthermore, so much to their relationships. I just love that. And Anna never ever fails to deliver on that front. It's why I'll always read her books. 🧡
Almost Yours is a brother's best friend, second chance romance. It's dual POV, open door, and has no third act breakup.
I very much enjoyed reading Gavin and Ginny's story, both the past and present. I do love a good second chance story because I love seeing all the growth, the rebuilding of trust, and the rekindling of feelings for each other.
Plus, I got to spend time with one of my favorite friend groups again. Love this found family so much 🫶 Also, Gavin's brothers?! 🥵 I need more.
CW: divoreced parents (infidelity), domestic abuse (current but off page, not MC), toxic parents, cyber bullying, references to abandoned and abused animals.
Almost Yours is a second chance romance about Ginny and Gavin who had a summer romance in their teens. That relationship ended abruptly and they’ve both carried it with them in some way ever since. The reconnect years later at a mutual friend’s holiday party.
I have a hard time with second chance romances sometimes, it depends on why they broke up. This one I had no issues with, and them actually trying again and succeeding felt realistic to me. Another trope I struggle with, brother’s best friend, is in this book. Ginny is best friends with one of Gavin’s brothers so that turn on the trope made it work for me!
There are so many things I loved in this book. I loved the animal shelter and all the pets. I loved seeing previous books characters again and meeting some new ones (the second Rafferty walked in the door I was like yup I’m ready for this book). I loved the plus size rep, the bi rep, the on page therapy rep. I loved that there were texts on the page between them. Texts, emails, letters, whatever. Written communication between the couple is always a win for me. Also, it’s spicy af 🔥 many many open door scenes.
Content warnings. Gavin owns an animal shelter so there are some mentions of abandoned or injured animals. Ginny’s backstory involves difficulties with her parents, especially her father. Mentions of divorce, domestic abuse, and toxic behaviors. Ginny is also a body positive influencer so you will see some internet bullying and fat shaming from trolls.
You don’t really have to read the series in order but I personally would so you get the added benefit of enjoying the intertwining characters. Also they’re all great, I still recommend the first book on the regular.
I’m excited to have Gavin and Ginny join their friends on my bookshelf. I’m also irrationally excited to find out what color the spine will be.
I received an advance copy of the ebook from the author.
No spoilers but prepare yourself for that HEARTBREAKING prologue. 😭
OH, GAVIN. Our poor sad, angry, soft boy. Listen, he tried our patience at the beginning but we gave him grace bc we knew he was going to make up for it when it counted most. And he really was good at heart and a truly loving human. He was just deeply hurting and desperately trying to hold himself together in the face of lost love.
AND GINNY. Our strong, badass, takes-no-nonsense gal. She was a boss babe and you bet she gave Gavin as good as she got bc she wasn't about to take his (verbal) hits lying down. But in truth, she was struggling too. Struggling with what she'd hoped to get out of life, and confused by Gavin's animosity and the end of their friendship.
Seeing these two at odds was HARD. But as two people afraid of getting hurt, they understandably had their guards up. And while that delivered some steamy tension, I was in tears when they finally put it all out in the open and *both* took responsibility for their actions: past, present, all of it! I was so happy and THE SUGAR, THE SPICE, AND THE EVERYTHING NICE THAT FOLLOWED?! EEEEKKKK!!! The way they actively *chose* to be together despite their doubts was so beautiful bc they talked through those fears and let the other reassure them that they *would* work. And the unwavering support they showed each other through the easy *and* hard times. CAN THEY GET ANY BETTER?!?!
I also really appreciated the portrayal of families in this. The good ones. The bad ones. The found ones. The blood ones. It added so much depth and provided an opportunity for a very important journey.
CN: open-door romance, mentions of divorce, mentions of domestic abuse, toxic parents, infidelity, fatshaming and internet bullying, refs to abandoned animals
Happy pub day to ALMOST YOURS by @annawriteshere and Gavin and Ginny 🥳🥳
This is the fourth book in Anna’s Love in Wildes series, and dare I say it’s my fav?! I loved it sooooo much! I am a sucker for a brothers best friend trope and the “it’s always been you” vibes always hit hard 🥹
Anna was worried that having a prickly, stubborn, and what some people will label as “unlikeable” FMC would draw people away from reading this one. I loved Ginny the way she was- confident in herself, she knows what she wants and will go after it, and she cares deeply for those close to her. Basically, all the reasons why Gavin loves her ❤️
Mr. Gavin Rhodes. Ugh I love him. I mean, who wouldn’t love a guy who own his own pet shelter and spends his time rescuing allll the dogs?! (Other animals as well!). Gavin is soft, get angry. When Ginny comes back into his life, he’s angry that he still loves her, he’s angry about what he did all those years ago and that he’s still not over it. However, all that anger is oit to good yes, when his brothers alll but force him to talk to Ginny to smooth things over. When it didn’t go well the first few times they interacted, the chemistry and sexual tension is there and they both decide to “just get it out of their systems” and move on… easy right?
Gavin is completely gone for Ginny and I loved it so much 😍🥹 he will literally do anything for Ginny (including help her with her flower shirt photo shoot for her body positivity Instagram page) Ginny had never really had a real relationship, but she’s all in with Gavin as he has always been the one she likes the most. He helps her deal with her family issues, and helps her fit into his friend group so. She feels like she belongs. ❤️
I am so glad that Anna keeps us updated on the rest of the gang from the first three books, because I love them all. The found family within the fiends group is the best!
ALSO! I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Gavin’s brothers, aka the Rhodes brothers who are a special breed of their own 😍😍 I am so glad that Anna has plans for future books for them, cause like I NEED to know what is going on with them!!
I've read all of Anna's books up to this point, and they keep getting better. While the series is interconnected, this book can be read on its own, but it would be better if you start with book 1.
Gavin Rhodes made me question everything I knew about him from the previous books. He came across as this living wild kind of guy when it's really just a front he puts up for his friends and family so they don't know how "boring" his life really is.
Ginny Thomas is the sassy boss I was hoping for. She's a powerhouse at work and in the bedroom but learns to open herself up to the love Gavin so freely gives... after he works through his own stuff.
What I liked most about this book was how Anna flipped the typical romance gender stereotypes on their head. We had the moody, emotional guy and emotionally closed-off gal. These characters grew so much through the story, and I'm excited to see them in future books.
What to expect in Almost Yours: -Queer Rep -Fat Rep -Diverse Rep / Interracial -Second Chance -Brother's Best Friend -Dog Dad / Cat Mom -"It's always been you." -No 3rd act breakup
For the spice, you'll find lots of sexy time, some breath play, "get it out of our system," and public toy play.
Anna's writing is perfect for the reader looking for a romance with real-life situations that lead to character growth. There's no fluffy writing over here so if you want more depth in your romance, I highly recommend you read Anna's stories.
“Almost Yours” by Anna P. had me hooked from page one. The main character, Ginny, is a force. She unapologetically owns her sexuality and embraces it with confidence.
Ginny and Gavin are complex and relatable characters who are deeply in love, and their journey to confront their messy pasts and embrace their feelings for each other is beautifully portrayed.
I loved witnessing their character growth and the way they showed up for each other. Anna skillfully explored the themes of caretaking of both people and animals (Gavin owns a pet shelter) and the importance of having those hard but necessary conversations.
One of the key highlights was the way Anna wove in family and friend dynamics. She did a fantastic job of creating authentic relationships that felt real and genuine.
The banter between Ginny and Gavin was witty and cleverly written, the steamy scenes were scorching, and the HEA was swoon-worthy.
Anna also did an excellent job of giving us lots of positive representation. Her MFC is bisexual, plus-size, and South Indian. It added a wonderful richness to see these aspects of her identity celebrated.
Overall, "Almost Yours" with Anna's smooth and detailed writing style was an absolute pleasure to read.
Anna P. never disappoints with her books. They always make me cry (in a good way), laugh, swoon, and sweat from the smut. I can’t say much but trust me, the smut in this book is soooooooo—- all thanks to Anna for writing such a confident woman like Ginny. I truly admire her confidence and especially with her body. One which I hope I gain too in the future. The pets and other animals here are also cute, I love that Gavin runs a shelter and is passionate with animals and helping them find a good home. There are sensitive topics in this book and I appreciate Anna for writing them with such sensitivity and compassion. And it wasn’t just a throwaway subplot either, it was written well into the story. Helped Ginny’s character development as well. I enjoyed this book a lot. I’ve reall all 4 Love in Wildes books at this point, and it was nice seeing old characters have cameos in this one. Looking forward for the two more books Anna has in store!
Ugh Gavin & Nia...Anna has done it again!!! Such longing, such rage, such filth 👀🥵 Almost Yours is a second chance, brothers bestie, frenemies to lovers treat for the eyes and soul. After a glorious summer together that ended in heartbreak when they were younger Gavin & Ginny (Nia) totes hate each other. Then when they're thrust into each others orbit again things...happen (more side eye emojis...) I loved the strength that Nia had, loved her being a plus size influencer and the scene where they take pics for the gram, the flowers (IYKYK) was just wonderful. Gavin being a big softie who owns an animal shelter is just glorious and loved the relationships with his brothers and cannot wait for their books. Also loved his friendship with Bronte and I'm nearly FERAL for her book! Some tough themes in this one so take care when reading but otherwise get cracking on it IMMEDIATELY!! You won't regret it...
Gavin is the perfect soft angry boy and the depth of his love for Ginny never failed to take me by surprise. To be loved like that is such a blessing. Little Rhodes grew up so well 💕
And then there is Ginny. What a badass, lady boss this one is! I adored her confidence. Her growth from the prologue to the end was beautifully etched. Her scenes with her mother - oof I alternated between being irritated by her mother to coming around to an appreciation for Mrs. Thomas. Ngl, teared up a little at the revelation of the pasts but I'm going to leave this a spoiler-free review.
The supporting characters were well rounded enough that now I'm waiting for books about them, too! (Especially Graham, and Joey who seems to be as badass as Ginny)
First off, I’m a big fan of this series. Anna P does a great job with character development. You get a deep understanding of each characters’ motives and why they are the way that they are.
Second chance romance, childhood friends is one of my favorite tropes so I was definitely excited for this love story!
This book is quite lengthy, but there were lots of new characters introduced in this book. I really hope the Rhodes brothers get their own love stories, specifically Spencer and Bronte and whoever Graham ends up with.
This story had all the things. Love, heartbreak, spice, cute animals, family love and trauma (TW: mentions of Domestic Violence and Pet abuse). Gavin and Ginny are wonderful characters with flaws that they actively work on and reading their love and chemistry evolve was very natural. Their growth as individuals and as a couple was seamlessly fit into the rest of the story. No third act breakup.
Part of a series where their friends/family are MCs but can be read as a standalone!
Cannot thank Anna P enough for the arc of Almost Yours!
This was such a sweet second chance love story. Ginny and Gavin had great character development and the communication in this story was SO GOOD. I loved the scenes with some of my past faves (hiiii Frankie) and cannot wait to see more about this friend group. I know Anna can't just write all day every day...but also can she?
I can't wait to see what comes next in this series because I am sure I will love it.
I was so excited for Anna’s next book in this series. I loved the other three so much. She does such a wonderful job of touching on hard topics. This one just didn’t hit the mark for me. I don’t know if I just didn’t relate to the characters as much or what. I’m a plus size woman myself so I figured I’d love Ginny but the story fell flat for me. I will still definitely read more of Anna’s works if she graces us with them!
I loved this book. It was the last published book from the Love in Wildes series that I had yet to read. Ginny and Gavin were an enjoyable couple, but the furry friends really stole the show. This book can be enjoyed without having read the others in the series, but it is always fun to see the characters from previous books pop back around. This book set up the characters for the next book really well. I cannot wait to pick up Almost Always next.
I didn't like this one as much as the others in this series. Honestly I think the troupe of second chance love just isn't for me. The characters were great and loved the family. It was a little rambling too, maybe a little too long for the story that was told. I will definitely continue reading this author tho! Especially if anything comes up about Gavin's brothers 😍
There was so much to love about Ginny and Gavin’s story. Adorable animals. Body positivity. Snarky banter. Heaps of sexual tension (and payoff to match). Do I love second chance romance? Not usually … but this one worked. Do I wish there was a third act breakup? Yes … and no. While I normally feel like the relationship itself needs that final test, frankly the drama that unfolded with Ginny’s parents was enough to be getting on with. And Gavin being there for her throughout was everything. It’s also refreshing to see real representation of DV and support for its victims in fiction. See? So much to love in this unconventional, satisfying romance.
The world of Wilde’s is a place that I wish I could visit for real. Anna wrote another heart-warming story of love, growth, acceptance mixed in with a whole bunch of spice! If you love a romance that is body positive, second chance, a little enemies to lovers, and animals, this book is for you!
Can’t wait for the next book in Wildes and to really get to know each of the brothers!
This was such a beautiful story! It was so well written, I struggled to put it down! Second chance romance, brother's best friend, he's always loved her, no third act breakup, body diversity, and so much more. Absolutely loved it! Definitely recommend!
Finding the right way to capture this book has been tough! It’s so much more than good or incredible… Anna P. delivers once again a story that hits on so many levels. It’s raw, vulnerable, angry, deals with heavy shit, and will make you feel. Gavin and Ginny aren’t perfect, and she doesn’t try to force either of them into an expectation. Ginny is brash, maybe a little aggressive at times, and takes zero shit from anyone about anything. Gavin is angry, most of the time. Somehow they bring out the rest of each other and through that we see trust, vulnerability, acceptance, sincere apologies, and serious chemistry. A couple favorite moments - Anna P. works an amazing food truck experience in one again. There a so many pets! The heartbreak hurts in a very different way, and is handled with such care without minimizing the light we HAVE to shine on this issue! Everybody has a different type of body, and the praise runs throughout for all!
I’ll never stop recommending Anna P. - she’s an incredible athlete this craft and writes people I genuinely wish were my friend group 💜 buy her books, read them, fall in love with these characters and Wildes! You’ll be glad you did! 5⭐️
"Open your eyes, Little Rhodes. Keep them on me. Watch me ruin you."
- Second chance - It’s always been you - He falls first - Animal shelter owner x events planner & body positivity influencer - Plus-size & bi FMC - No breakup - Dual POV (third person)
Here are five reasons to read Almost Yours: 1. Gavin owns an animal shelter, people! There are cute animals galore! Including a cat in a backpack carrier. But he's also just such a sweetheart. “Because of all the women in the world, you’re the only one that shines bright.” 2. Ginny is a sassy, confident, plus-size bi FMC. I honestly wish I had her confidence. Also, when she stood up to her father? QUEEN 🙇♀️. 3. The spice is good y’all. There might be a public vibe scene… and a kitchen floor scene… and 🤐. 4. The Rhodes brothers. Throughout the book you slowly get to know them and their distinct personalities/characteristics. Plus, Mama Rhodes is cute! 5. The honest communication about their feelings and relationship status. In the beginning, there was a lot of animosity about what happened 12 years ago. But they talked it through and finally understood what the other person felt at the time. Then, they were able to move forward and NOT BREAK UP!
Another beautiful story by Anna. Second chance + forced proximity can never go wrong. The character development, flirting, banter, and angst are all executed flawlessly. I adored the setting of the animal shelter, along with all the pets. It felt like the ideal backdrop for the second-chance romance to unfold. I appreciate how the characters took responsibility for their actions and navigated through their issues. I was in tears watching Gavin support her through her family issues. In short, this was another sweet and emotional read, beautifully delivered by Anna. Also, it was great seeing the characters from the past books and hints about future couples. Can't wait for the other Rhodes brothers' books too!
