Michael Jan Friedman is an author of more than seventy books of fiction and nonfiction, half of which are in the Star Trek universe. Eleven of his titles have appeared on the New York Times Best Seller list. Friedman has also written for network and cable television and radio, and scripted nearly 200 comic books, including his original DC superhero series, the Darkstars.

On the way to peace talks with the Gorn, Picard is thrown into the past to the colony that the Gorn attacked in TOS. The ending has a bit of a gut-wrenching twist, which was very well done. I don’t know why a younger Picard is on the cover, but that’s not the authors’ doing! For a species we don’t know much about, this book does the Gorn well.
