There's nothing wrong with this book at all. I just now question why I even bother buying travel books like this. Even as updated as they are, the internet will always be more up to date. I book hotels based on online reviews and availability, not one of these books. I suppose I do skim these books for some useful information. More, though, it's probably the egotism of being able to "show off" where I'll be traveling next and as eventual souvenirs of my trip. Machu Picchu and Salar de Uyuni, here we come!

Be sure to copy the maps of Machu Picchu, as the site itself has nothing. There are signs there directing you to certain places, but they are inconsistent at best.

The sections on Lima and Cuzco helped me choose a hotel location, which would have been impossible without this book!

The descriptions of side trips really helped to build the itinerary and form my choices. I'm glad that I read this before wasting a bunch of time in less than awesome places!

Used for quick tips and price guides along the way through Peru. The manatee sanctuary in Iquitos was a highlight. As was Monkey Island.
