A sweet and spicy workplace rom-com about a cute office lady and her big, hot boss! Part of Seven Seas' imprint dedicated to sexy romance for Steamship!
Natsumi, also known as “Hamu-chan,” hustles at her demanding office job like a hamster running in a wheel. Meanwhile, her boss Samejima is more like a shark. He’s handsome, sure, but he’s also imposing and scary...at least, until he confesses his feelings for her?! Natsumi is a little overwhelmed by seeing a vulnerable side to this gigantic man, especially since she doesn’t have a lot of experience in the love department. But she’s secretly thrilled to see more. Together, this big boss with a voracious appetite and the smaller woman who’s hungry for his love are ready to unleash their wild sides!
Honestly I’m a bit disappointed… while this one was kinda cute and funny , it wasn’t much besides that. The characters felt flat and there was literally no chemistry between the MMC and FMC at all.
Also the amount of smut didn’t bothered me , what bothered me was that it was so hyper focused on breast and nipple play. Like ???? The FMC herself said she doesn’t feel anything there or it doesn’t feels good at the beginning the MMC pushed her to like it, he even made them „more sensitive“ so she would enjoy it 💀. Doesn’t feel right to me.
This was a fun smut romance manga with lots of cute moments. I definitely have read better smutty manga but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy this one as well. It was fun and it did what it needed to do! If you like your romance manga to have very obvious height and size differences (she's small and he's very tall), read it. The guy is very grumpy and constantly furrows his brows so expect lots of that. But he also likes cute things like the main heroine, he thinks she's super cute and wants to date her.
What I really liked about this one is that you get the couple era from the very beginning, they instantly start dating and from that point on, you get to see their romance develop, because they really don't know each other outside of seeing each other at work. They start getting to know each other, what they like, what they are scared of, etc. And it's so nice to see him try to make her as comfortable as possible. He really wants to make as happy as he can and that's really his only goal in life. LOVE TO SEE IT <3
There is A LOT OF steamy content, it's explicit and all of that. So keep that in mind!!
If you're just looking for a book with lots of mildly graphic sex, this should make you happy, because that's mostly what this is. That's fine, but there are hints that KamuC might have been thinking about a more plot-driven story at a few points, and seeing those glimpses of what could have been makes the abandonment of it sting a little. Not that the plot was anything exciting, but there are a few moments where Samejima has to think about Hamu-chan's pleasure rather than his own that could have been good were they not dropped, and I'd have liked to see that story.
Finished the first volume. Ehhh. I saw the title and the cover, I knew more or less what I was getting into. Wasn't expecting high literature, but it's a bit too ridiculous for my taste. The animal chibis are cute, but Hamu is just pathetic with how desperate she is for a boyfriend. Same is kind of a wooden block of a character. It's too bad, because there are hints of more character depth/an actual arc, but then it tosses it for more boning and Hamu panicking that she's going to get dumped/isn't being the ideal girlfriend.
Also, omg, idk if it's a translation oddity or what but I don't think "itchy" means what the author thinks it does.
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. The sex scenes were a bit too often and seem repetitive at times. Overall, it's a solid story between our two main characters and one I would read again.
My guy, this do be just smut. I don't know about anyone else, but I want some actual romantic development and cute moments, and not just a relationship that feels like every moment between them having sexy times is just to serve the lead-up to the next time they have sexy times. There was just no true sense of them actually being in love here, and there were moments that were just a bit cringy to me - also, if someone isn't into something, maybe they are just not into it, and the whole nipple thing felt so forced.

Nobody had any sexual skills whatsoever. Not even the creator of this manga.
The art style was cute. The couple were stupid for each other. And that was everything I liked.
It was stupid and in the beginning I hoped it was the good kind of stupid. Alas it was just stupid. The pacing of the relationship was very off. The sex was... uninformed. The side-characters, why were they there? And the relationship between the two characters... they liked each other but why?
I do think the translation was off. Some sentences did not flow very well so maybe in Japanese they had some more nuances in their talk?
I do not really regret buying this because I do want to support this imprint but I am very disappointed.
Story is cute but the relationship felt rushed and a bit shallow? What I mean is that one chapter he confesses, sex, dating, sex, they move in together, sex, sex, gets hit on by someone else, let’s get married and sex. The story has cute moments and the two side characters that like our FML are funny. Our ML is sorta lacking in the character department when he doesn’t say much and his goal is to have Natsumi all to himself and mainly takes up her time by having sex. It took me quite a while to get through when I normally rush through a story. I still like it but it will not be a reread anytime soon.

Loved the open communication between the couple and the cute hampster and shark asides. Also, Same-san googling how to make sex better for Hamu-chan was precious.
If I had a complaint, it is that Same gets the nipple cream without discussing it with Hamu. I only realized this because I recently read Ladies on Top which also has great communication with the main couple and focuses on what works for each person during sex and how good sex looks different to different people.
All in all, very gentle, nothing earth shaking, just smutty enough manga.
Well that was an interesting journey. Wasn’t a bad read but definitely more focused on the smut side. I enjoyed it overall there were certain things I liked. I do think if there had been more romance focus and building of their relationship I probably would have rated it higher. But overall wasn’t a bad read.
It doesn't really need a review ... you get what you expect with a manga like this. It was cute. I liked the little hamster and shark chibi asides. But what else do you expect to get? It's not much of a plot, although it hinted at one every now and again.
I am shocked at how cute this was considering how filthy it also is! SO cute and funny, and I love Rio-san! And the conflict with another colleague is resolved peacefully! Very cute, loved it.
so happy to see steamship actually publishing some good manga focused on female pleasure. my big issues with an imprint bringing 'sexy romance for women' is that they need to actually bring ROMANCE FOR WOMEN....so many of their licensed series have been non-con/EXTREMELY dub-con. 'ladies on top' has been pretty much the only one published so far without consent issues. thankfully, this one has pretty clear enthusiastic consent, even if natsumi is inexperienced/shy.
my main complaints here are around the traditional gender roles being heavily pushed in some chapters...for example, natsumi goes over to samejima's apartment and it's extremely messy (which like, come on dude, you knew you were going to have her over). she then CLEANS the whole place before they do anything. and, during their first time, he is not gentle even though he knows she's inexperienced.
thankfully, my main gripes are mostly appeased as the story rolls on. samejima reads up on how to focus on her pleasure (prompted by rio, whom I LOVED as a character, and the twist of her being into natsumi was the cherry on top) and becomes more sensual. when natsumi and samejima move in together, they also equally split the chores, and samejima even asks to do more so they can wake up together rather than have natsumi up first making breakfast.
overall, this was probably a 4.5★, but I'm rounding up because the art was great, the spice was spicy, and this felt like a real romance for women. definitely worth giving a shot if you're into workplace romances, size differences, and cute (but steamy) romance with a happily-ever-after.
