The Syntax Workbook was written as a response to the students and instructors who, over the years, have requested more problem sets that give greater experience in analyzing syntactic structure. Not enough syntax tree exercises. Appreciated the answers in the back, though.

I do really appreciate having an accessible (i.e. not teacher-gated or 500$) syntax exercise book with answers included! This is good for opening up the field. And I liked the pretty wide variety of well-cited language data included in the exercises. Things I didn't like:
- There are so many typos, some of which are crucial to understanding the solutions!
- The name doesn't hide this, but it's really not a standalone workbook -- it's a companion to Carnie's syntax textbook, so sometimes you're asked to look back at the text (which I didn't). And of course some of the theoretical choices (ternary branching to start, DP!!, VP internal subjects always) are not my particular cup of tea.

Very useful book for anyone who struggles to understand syntax. There are a lot of typos in the answer key to watch out for however. Some of the explanations in the answers also feel a bit incomplete. There a good mix of easy and advanced problems.
