Ok
When I started this series I reviewed book 1. I didn't like it. The writing isn't bad, but I didn't like the whole serial killer comedy idea. I didn't review book 2, but it was a little better as the plot led to hell, and demons dying didn't bother me. Book 3 just seemed to drag on eternally. Avie turns into this whining, crying, pouting girl who can't get herself together. I honestly didn't get why she changed so much. Mates or no mates, her inner strength shouldn't have been affected. Also, we are repeatedly told throughout the series that she was kidnapped at the age of 11 and he tortured her and trained her to be a serial killer. Why did she fall apart and have PTSD after the most recent kidnapping and torture session? Something happens with her mates too, but I won't ruin the story for you. She fell completely apart and couldn't function, started having panic attacks....it just didn't make sense.
The other thing I didn't get, and I feel like the author doesn't really explain how it's possible, is how Eidilon (or however you spell it) gets all that power. I got that he was more powerful with the crown, but how was he more powerful than the devil and his most powerful demons before that? Where did the power come from? Compulsion, necromancy, magical barriers, siphoning Avie's power, etc. He didn't have those powers before, on earth. We could assume he injected himself with enough demon blood that he inherited the powers that way. However, if that was possible, then wouldn't it have happened before with other demons? Why was Eidilon able to out power the devil regardless of anything he injected himself with? It was just weird that he could over power multiple strong demons.
Overall, the story line was ok. It wasn't my cup of tea, but that's not because the writing is bad. I just didn't really care for the story line. I rarely found it amusing, even though I think it's supposed to be comical.
