Just when I think I have Maisie figured out and thinking that she is trying to keep everything together because she knows the future.... unpredictability kicks her in the ass! I guess what they say in Twilight is try, seeing the future can change if those it affects change their minds. I really hope the growing distrust I have for Maisie is misplaced. I understand she's been there probably the longest and knows more about what's going on but something tells me she is a the heart of keeping this group together for The Voice. I'm really glad Syd figured another way around having to kill her parents. I just hope that The Voice doesn't kill them in the mean time since it seems in a few sentences, Syd has taken his group away from him. OMG I can't wait to read issue #7. Eric Stephenson is a story writing genius and I LOVE the attention to detail and color that Simon Gane and Jordie Bellaire give to this series. Issue #6 is not lacking in the attention to all things detailed!

End of the first main story arc (I guess) with some loose threads (of course). No real surprises except perhaps the near miraculous maturation of a previously very fragile character. Perhaps this would seem less problematic if there were a better indication of the amount of time passed between issues 1 & 6 (or maybe I missed it, I have been binge-reading / reading fairly quickly). Not a huge fan of the art but it does have some appeal (reading it I keep thinking along the lines of Cowboy Bebop or something in that genre / late 90s / early 2000s). Not a bad series but not a "wow" series either (a lot of it does just come off as an alternate version of the X-Men idea but with more "human" (i.e., characters that are mutated, but not in any alien/animal-like hybrid ways, therefore, visually they will appeal to potentially to almost anyone reading it) characters. Take or leave.

(Spoilery) I've found this series to be pretty hit and miss, but this issue was really on form. High drama and emotion, and I found myself punching the air to see Syd standing up for herself and the others. Looking forward to the next ones!
