Robert L. Millet, professor of ancient scripture and former dean of Religious Education at Brigham Young University, holds a master s degree in psychology from BYU and a Ph.D. in religious studies from Florida State University. He is a popular speaker and prolific writer whose other books include Lost and Found: Reflections on the Prodigal Son; Grace Works; and More Holiness Give Me. He and his wife, Shauna, have six children and live in Provo, Utah.
The book is informative and helps clear up some of the myths about the Mormon faith. While not all questions are answered, it gives a pretty decent introduction to the primary beliefs of the religion. Millet does a pretty good job of comparing and contrasting traditional Christianity with Mormonism without coming across condescending to those outside the LDS faith.
A very informative read on the Mormon Faith. The author is LDS, and yet presents a fairly clinical look at the faith. His book is well organized and explained sufficiently that "the rest of us," can understand.
I would recommend this book to any student of religions. There are a lot of myths about the Mormon faith in particular and this will clear the fog.
Written by a professor at Brigham Young University with the intent "not to convert but to aid in understanding." I found this book extremely helpful in explaining the beliefs of the LDS faith--and addressing the hearsay spread by so many other denominations.
