When his friends do their best to tell him, Larry refuses to listen! What happens? His game goes "KERPOW!" That’s when Larry learns a valuable lesson in listening as his friends come to the rescue. Kids will discover, right along with Larry, that God gave friends and family to help us through each day—so when we listen we don’t miss what others have to say! Sunday morning values, Saturday morning fun. Now that’s the Big Idea! Through imaginative and innovative products, Zonderkidz is feeding young souls.

Good message in a rhyming book about listening to your friends and family.

God was unexpectedly mentioned at the end.

My four year old wasn’t very impressed.

We have this as a board book part of a VeggieValues collection. We are super excited that it is being made into a new themed VeggieTales DVD combining some older VT short films all about listening. Moral stories, personal examples and even Biblical lessons all add up to the same thing. The importance of listening and gaining wisdom. Plus seeing Larry dressed as a wood cutter is just plain cute!

As for this inidividual book, it is a long lasting lesson on both patience and learning to listen. Otherwise you might mess it all up.

When Larry receives a new game he has been anticpating playing, he immediately starts trying to figure out how it works. His neighbors try to help him but Larry wont listen to what they are saying. Larry continues playing the game ignoring his friends advice, until his game breaks. Larry learns a lesson about taking help from and listening to friends.

Larry is like many of us who may have wanted to do things on our own rather than listen to others. Even if it was for our benefit. This is a good book for kids to read together as they develop their social skills and learn to follow directions.

Larry cannot wait to play his video game. He cannot even wait long enough to read the directions, or put batteries in. Since he couldn't listen, he broke his game, until his friends helped him fix it.

I normally don't like books that go with t.v shows, but the morals in this one a great! Love the rhyming and the cute quote at the end.
