Kurogane, Syaoran, Fai, Mokona, and Princess Sakura have come upon a desert of shifting sands and ruined skyscrapers. This postapocalyptic nightmare is all that remains of the booming metropolis that was Tokyo, and the survivors are battling for the few life-giving resources left in the world. As the five dimension travelers search for another piece of the princess's lost memories, they will all be tested to their limits in ways they never expected!
CLAMP originally began in 1989 as a twelve-member dōjinshi circle, but by 1990, the circle had diminished from twelve to seven. Of the remaining seven, Tamayo Akiyama, Sei Nanao, and Leeza Sei left the group during the production of the RG Veda manga. Other former members of CLAMP also included Soushi Hishika, O-Kyon, Kazue Nakamori, Yuzuru Inoue and Shinya Ōmi. Currently, there are four members in the group.
In 2004, CLAMP's 15th anniversary as a mangaka group, the members changed their names from Nanase Ohkawa, Mokona Apapa, Mick Nekoi, and Satsuki Igarashi to Ageha Ohkawa, Mokona, Tsubaki Nekoi and Satsuki Igarashi (her name is pronounced the same, but written with different characters) respectively. The August 2004 issue of Newtype USA, a magazine specializing in events of the anime and manga subcultures, reported that the members of CLAMP simply wanted to try out new names. In a later interview with Ohkawa, it was revealed that initially Mokona wanted to drop her surname because it sounded too immature for her liking, while Nekoi disliked people commenting that her name was the same as Mick Jagger's. Ohkawa and Igarashi, wanting to go with the flow of Nekoi's and Mokona's name changes, changed their names as well.
In 2006, they made their first USA public debut at Anime Expo in Anaheim, California. They were well received at the convention, with 6,000 fans in attendance at their panel.
From this volume everything goes darker.. lots of mystery excites me.. Dystopian Tokyo? Twin like Syaoran? Dark past of Fei? Sleeping soul of Sakura? Have it all!
Things are getting dark dark dark. And my heart is breaking more and more. Those panels with Fai! He won't die for himself but he will sacrifice himself for others. and he really likes Sakura, Kurogane and Syaoran. And Syaoran keeps losing his grip and the real Syaoran is awoken. Things get more and more complicated and the story is getting so dark that it really breaks my heart.
Tsubasa is in a way a love letter to all of CLAMP's other works. I went into this having read almost all - definitely all relevant - series by CLAMP, so I can't say for sure, but I think this series is only half as fun if you haven't read the other works (preferably all). If you enjoy Easter Eggs and cameos, Tsubasa is an absolute treat.
For the longest time, Tsubasa was the longest manga series I owned; anything beyond 10 volumes makes me think twice as I find that most lengthy series just drag unnecessarily. However, it was impossible for me to say no to Tsubasa, Sakura and Syaoran from Cardcaptor Sakura have been long-time favourite manga characters of mine, not to mention that I am generally very fond of CLAMP and all their big and small crossovers. Reading a story that combines almost their entire bibliography and with Sakura and Syaoran as the main characters was too good to say no to. It should also be mentioned that this series is heavily interwoven with xxxHolic's plot and should best be read alongside each other.
This Syaoran and Sakura are not the same from Cardcaptor Sakura (although the original Sakura makes a cameo). In essence, this is a story about travelling between dimensions - the same person can exist in different versions of themselves in different universes. Sakura and Syaoran travel between the different worlds - all very different - and meet characters and elements from all across CLAMP's other works. In fact, some characters appear more than once to highlight how the same being can exist and lead a different life in different worlds. It's really fun to see the characters from other stories living different lives, some are funny and some are bittersweet. CLAMP has killed off a fair amount of its characters in other works so it's nice to see some of them leading happier and peaceful lives.
In addition to meeting a whole lot of known characters, there are also a couple of Tsubasa original characters such as Fay and Kurogane who accompany Sakura and Syaoran on their travels. I've grown to love Fay and Kurogane almost as much as I love the other two - so while Tsubasa is very much a homage to other CLAMP works, it's also a very character-driven story with both Fay and Kurogane having intricate and deep personalities. I also have to express my apologies to Kurogane - I always expected not to like him because I'm not very fond of brawns-over-brains type of characters, but I was very wrong about him; great character, smart as well a strong and just a really great guy.
Being a work of CLAMP, it's almost needless to say that the art is beautiful. That being said, this is more of a shounen-esque series which also shows in the art with the somewhat oddly length limbs and a greater focus on action, weapons and muscles. I prefer shoujo art, but the facial art is much the same as other CLAMP works so I can absolutely live with that.
A downside of Tsubasa is plain and simple that it gets confusing. There are time skips, world switching, doubles across different series (xxxHolic) and rather vague motivations from the villain's side. At some point, I just decided to go with the flow rather than trying to make sense of every detail. There's a bit of a loose end, though I wouldn't exactly call it a band ending either. Now that they are working on a sequel, it'll be interesting to see where things will lead to next.
Either way, an absolute gem if you like CLAMP and crossovers, and Sakura, Syaoran, Fay and Kurogane are just a great team of characters - to be fair, Mokona is as much part of the team and deserves a mention too. Finally, I just love these characters.
Para karakter Dragons of Heaven dipimpin oleh Fuuma, sedangkan sebaliknya, Kamui memimpin para karakter Dragons of Earth.

It took me a while to get my hands on this volume, so I feel like I've lost my momentum. I also feel like this volume is really diving deep into the CLAMP multiverse, of which I only have read a tiny sliver, so I just felt like I was missing huge pieces of things. I was able to get the next omnibus, so I'll read that and see if I want to keep going. I want to know more about the characters and the places the story overlaps with xxxHolic, but I don't know if it will be worth trying to hunt down copies in libraries of the later volumes.
Caught in an apocalyptic city where factions battle for water, Syaoran and his friends aid their new allies in finding food, unaware that a young man bearing an eerie resemblance to Syaoran has made his way to Yūko's shop, wishing to find his missing eye...CLAMP begins a descent into the unknown as this entry weaves dangers and mysteries deeper than ever before. Can the gang find food and Sakura's feather before the rival faction returns for a second bout?
This was okay too. There’s some slightly confusing things happening but they do seem exciting too. The world is ok, is kind of dystopian, apocalyptic, actually I’ve read some books with the same topic and they are more recent than this one, could this be the first of its kind? That would be cool! Not gonna say what is it that it’s happening but it’s cool and this world is a bit like Dune too
I am liking this series a lot. This one is still the same plot of new world find feather, but there are some new mysteries here, and the art is pretty plus the characters are great, so I'm not really bored with it. Excited for more!
Happy to see Kamui and the Dragons again... kind of... But things are almost needlessly opaque. This is done to add mystery and tension, which sometimes works, but in this case it feels more like the technique bogs things down and frustrates the reader.
It's all going down now! Syaoran's doppelganger is free and he's making his way to find his missing eye. Why? Why does he have a missing eye, why does he need it back, why was it left with someone else? What is his directive? I'm scared and thrilled and excited! Next volume now!

There are volumes where nothing happens, dimension that takes up ten chapters to finish and tell nothing about the plot AND THEN THERE IS THIS VOLUME WHERE EVERYTHING HAPPENS ALL AT ONCE.
As much as this volume has action, it still felt like a filler storyline and like we were waiting for the actual story to get underway... That being said, it feels like the overall story is lengthening the arcs in preparation for the eventual conclusion (still more than 10 books away though it is), as happened with Xxxholic. Two major occurances did happen though - we found out more about Fai's magic and a "dark" Sayoran is introduced. I'm sure both are keys to the eventual conclusion, but I'm not sure wwat's going to happen so I shall refrain from speculating!

Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE: Volume 15 is an interesting story about a world devastated by an acid rain. The only building left standing in an entire city is the Tochô Building. The two gangs that live in the different towers both have a reservoir of water, but one of the gangs wants both. I found myself a little confused during the reading of this book.
There is someone that looks like Syaoran with the what looks like the Space-Time Witch. He has a patch over his left eye and wants his other eye back. We all know that Syaoran only has a left eye, so who is this guy with Syaoran's other eye? And what is going on with Princess Sakura? Her soul is asleep? What does that mean?
Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE: Volume 15 introduces a lot of mysteries that leaves the reader questioning what is going on. The artwork is wonderful, of course, and the storyline is great, if not a little confusing, but I still loved it. I am sure that some of these questions will be answered in the next book. If not, I know that the answers will be forthcoming in future volumes.
Overall, Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE: Volume 15 is a pretty spectacular book and I cannot wait to find out more about this mysterious eye-patch wearing Syaoran-like dude and what is going on with Princess Sakura in Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE: Volume 16. Bring it on!
