A complete set of nine issues of Letters from New York, the journal on lettering, calligraphy, and related arts published periodically by the Society of Scribes, NYC. The collection includes Issue 1 (2006) through Issue 9 (2018.) The first five were edited and designed by Christopher Calderhead; issues 6 and 7 by Calderhead and Holly Cohen; #8 by Cohen; and #9 by Anna Pinto. Issues 1, 2, 3, and 4 are all SIGNED BY CALDERHEAD with no inscription. Of Issue 2 is entirely devoted to photographs and accompanying text by Paul Shaw on outdoor lettering in NYC; #8 is titled "Ewan Clayton in Conversation" and presents a transcription of a talk given by Clayton, moderated by Calderhead; and issue 9 is a single article by Sheryl Hirsch-Kramer on a workshop by Donald Jackson. The other issues have between 3 and 6 articles per issue. Issues 1-7: perfect-bound; 80 pages; b&w illustrations throughout; 5.25 x 8.5 inches. Issue 8: perfect-bound; 48 pages; color and b&w illustrations throughout; 5.5 x 8.5 inches. Issue 9: staple-bound card wraps; 28 pages; color illustrations throughout; 5.5 x 8.5 inches.
