This international classic work is a bestseller in nine languages. It covers buying, breaking, and training the showjumper, necessary equipment, saddlery, general care, and transport. The author explains how to walk courses and demonstrates riding techniques and strategy over fences and free jumping lanes.
I have to admit that I didn't read this cover to cover, but dipped in and out to read the bits I thought would be more relevant. An interesting read in places, and includes some exercises and ideas that can easily be translated into a more modern training system. Loved all the hand-drawn figures - I kind of miss those in this day of superb photography.
