The second book in the new Exploring a Great Spiritual Practice series, Meditation, is a comprehensive, readable, and practical introduction to the time-honored spiritual practice of meditation. Includes overviews of the many types of meditations and the faith traditions from which they originate. Features "how-tos," inspirational quotes, photos, line art, and an extensive glossary.
I bought this book in 2004, so I've read it many times, but just not recently. The author's text is easily readable for anyone interested in meditation. The author explains the types of meditation and the traditions that meditation springs from. Each chapter ends with an ox herding picture. One whole chapter discusses the meanings of the pictures. The important thing is to take the time to meditate and make it a daily part of your life.
There’s a difference between religion and spirituality. Yes, this book included spirituality but it was mainly religion based which was not really clarified. Also, I felt like it was leaning more towards one religion than the others.
