Personally for me this is the best of all his 3 books. The author's knowledge and his own insights of the subjects he chooses amaze me.
Loved how the book was a breeze to read and such a visual treat to see the beautiful photos of the author's own travels to some of the magnificent abodes of Shiva. And the glossary was a 'life saver'. Been loving all his books.
Couldn't get enough of this one book and secretly hoping there would be Part 2.
And so so proud to say that he came from my homeland Malaysia.

Vignes Chandran does justice to Shiva in this book. He has such a knack for bringing this genre to life. He incorporates his own take & travels seamlessly within these tales too. Took me back to my childhood days where dad used to narrate stories of Shiva to us. Learned a great deal too, interesting details I never knew about Shiva. The book is a short, simple and sweet treat for anyone who wants to discover more about Shiva as the author takes us though a journey that’s not only remarkable but also structured & easy to follow. What a perfect vessel this author, this book and the stories are in delivering the crucial lessons. A gift of a book. Looking forward to a part 2!

For someone who adores Shiva, this has been an amazing journey for me. Refreshed my memory with stories forgotten along the way and definitely learnt a lot more.
So beautifully written that some moved me to tears.

I've read all 3 books by Vignes, and I have to say- Shiva: The Unborn Eternal, is my favorite.
It has been such a little lovely experience, taking a voyage learning about Shiva through the words of Vignes. Some of the stories, I've read growing up, but to read them again as an adult was a whole other experience.
It goes without saying that Vignes is a gifted writer. I hope he considers writing a Part 2 of this book.

Wow. Where do I start with this book 🙏
This author has done an amazing job of retelling the stories of Lord Shiva, not just of the Lord Himself but also of stories of encounters with Shiva from other epics like the Mahabharatha and Ramayana.
I was taken back to childhood, where I first learnt of Shiva through the puranas. But I was also reminded of how each story brings with it such deep meaning and values - both of which Vignes has beautifully narrated.
My favourite part of this book is the last section, where the author shares stories of temples and legends, complete with images from his personal collection of travels in India.
It ends with a beautiful poem of surrender to the Lord, penned by his friend.
I breathed a deep sigh of gratitude when I closed this book.

Neelakantha, the blue throated God -the creator, preserver & destroyer. If you’re looking for something that just speaks Shiva,dripping off every page, this book is for you. All the 3 parts on this book are just so absorbing and the author he really has done the research ,weaved the stories in a fantastic manner as can be seen in his passionate writing.
My personal fav from PART TWO - Divine encounters with Shiva. The loyalty between Nandi & Shiva is really great and I loved it.
Talking about Part 3-A Journey with Shiva.
All the places(ancient civilizations) been mentioned on this part 3 just simply made into my bucket list especially Kedarnath.Looking forward to visit and explore all this places in near future.
I finished reading this book with a better understanding about Mahadev, definitely.Those who have still not read this book yet,do make it a point to read it,you will not be dissapointed at all.

Everything you want to know about Lord Shiva, from top to toe, this book will convey to you in simple language.
When discussing Lord Shiva, one can't avoid connecting stories from ancient times. However, the author made sure that he did not use ancient jargon.
This book doesn't glorify Shiva as the superior but justifies why Lord Shiva is being celebrated worldwide by many.
A good read, indeed!

How do I start to describe this book? Well it was definitely a good glimpse into the many forms of Shiva. All the tales shared were very meaningful and intriguing. Each with a lesson and value for us to carry on. I have a better understanding of the reasons why certain things are done while we worship him. It helped to clear my doubts and it was personally a good discovery about the Mahadeva. A must read especially if you are a worshipper!

Have never been an individual who enjoys reading books related to God. The author has made this whole reading experience a very unique one for me. He has included precious pictures taken during his travelling experiences all over the world, not forgetting the abodes of Shiva himself. A book worth reading for sure!

My 3rd book from this author. Just like his previous books, he took a complex subject and made it in the simplest form for everyone to understand. It was a journey of knowing Shiva more intimately through this book. Loved very second of reading it and at the end of it, I felt I got to know Shiva better than before and the love for him grew stronger. I had a valuable knowledge reading it.

I have been twice to India but both times and post those trips have i never had the urge to visit temples, until I I finished this book and suddenly I'm piqued to visit some of those temples so beautifully described here. Looking forward to the sequel.

Starting the story with the demise of sati and ending it with the whole occurance is brilliance. Not to forget that the book held a special way of telling the story in which one could understand it easily by avoiding the menance of ignorance towards the knowledge. Can't wait for the second part 👀
