Closed Borders: The Contemporary Assault on Freedom of Movement

Rate this book
In this eloquent and informative book, Alan Dowty traces how different countries throughout history have dealt with movement in and out of their borders. Making a strong case for open borders that would allow individuals to emigrate or immigrate at will, Dowty calls on the United States to rethink its own restrictions on immigration and refugees and to take the lead in demanding freedom of movement throughout the world.
