This is a great gift book for kids graduating from high school or college. I am going to give it to my kids for Christmas in their stockings. A quick and easy ready but the wisdom inside can take a lifetime to master! Good reminders to adults. Of course I am completely biased as the author! This book was everything bit of wisdom I could think of to share with others! Enjoy!
"Ready or Not, Tips for the New Grad" is a very quick and easy read, perfect for the busy student. It provides a lot of easily understood and simple tips for managing life outside of the academic studies normally focused on. It can be referenced for use over and over again, as the author does not fill page after page with meaningless examples, yet does provide an extensive list of related books for those who wish to explore the subjects further. Many of the suggestions are "common sense", however if they were really common, we wouldn't need to be reminded of them. This book would also suit adults looking for a confidence boost, as it offers great advice for putting (and keeping) a positive outlook on life. I would recommend it for young and older adults, whether graduating or not.
Ready or Not—Tips for the New Grad is a cute little book. It will make a nice gift for the graduate to remind them of the things they should already know, but perhaps have not had time to practice.
It is also a place to start if someone is looking to get a deeper grasp on the art of living well. These are tidy tidbits—that if appropriate—make the reader look at their own behavior. Lisa’s thoughts and ideas are good jump-starts to get into action or to reinforce good actions that are already in play.
I don’t quite understand the “Ready or Not” in the title.
All in all, a nice book to assist a young adult as they begin their own journey into “grown-up” life.
Its not only a Gift for Graduates, but a gift for everyone. This book has a very good suggestions regarding Health, work, Relationship, Love, Community, work, Service and even play and Leisure. I found each page motivating with new thoughts and ideas. Definetely a must read for everyone. I really feel gifted that I have come across this book.
Great information that can be applied to everyday life regardless of age. It makes a great gift for someone just getting ready to graduate, but can be applied to different phases of life. Common sense stuff.
Great gift book for high school or college grads. Easy read -- each page has a different tip. I suggested my new college grad read each page slowly and contemplate. Then re-read every so often (for the rest of her life).
