A centenarian avenges the murder of his brother that took place 80 years before. Daniel Baker, a 1930s millionaire Policy King (Head of an Illegal Gambling Operation) from Detroit finds the clues to his brother's murder in a luxurious retirement center.
I highly recommend this book! The author is a friend of mine and I am very impressed by this first installment in the Sons of Cain series. The characters are likable and well-developed, the story is captivating and well-written. This book is very enjoyable for teens and adults alike.
First I will confess the author is my younger sister so I might be a little prejudiced. I love reading and though this is not the genre I usually read, it caught my imagination and kept my interest throughout. It’s message of acceptance is something our society needs to hear and this book delivers it in a special way. It is written for teens but if an adult is looking for an enjoyable easy read they will love this story. Can’t wait for her next book.

A very well written first book for this author. It captures the essence of the time and the Ozarks. The characters are relatable and make you care about them.
