THOR #6 MARVEL COMICS (W) Jason Aaron (A/CA) Russell Dauterman WHO IS THOR? That's the question on everyone's lips. Most especially Prince Odinson of Asgard. This issue, he starts to narrow down the list of suspects. Meanwhile, tensions continue to flare between the All-Mother and All-Father, Malekith forges his most dangerous pact yet, and Thor prepares to face her greatest challenge! Rated T+
Jason Aaron grew up in a small town in Alabama. His cousin, Gustav Hasford, who wrote the semi-autobiographical novel The Short-Timers, on which the feature film Full Metal Jacket was based, was a large influence on Aaron. Aaron decided he wanted to write comics as a child, and though his father was skeptical when Aaron informed him of this aspiration, his mother took Aaron to drug stores, where he would purchase books from spinner racks, some of which he still owns today.
Aaron's career in comics began in 2001 when he won a Marvel Comics talent search contest with an eight-page Wolverine back-up story script. The story, which was published in Wolverine #175 (June 2002), gave him the opportunity to pitch subsequent ideas to editors.
In 2006, Aaron made a blind submission to DC/Vertigo, who published his first major work, the Vietnam War story The Other Side which was nominated for an Eisner Award for Best Miniseries, and which Aaron regards as the "second time" he broke into the industry.
Following this, Vertigo asked him to pitch other ideas, which led to the series Scalped, a creator-owned series set on the fictional Prairie Rose Indian Reservation and published by DC/Vertigo.
In 2007, Aaron wrote Ripclaw: Pilot Season for Top Cow Productions. Later that year, Marvel editor Axel Alonso, who was impressed by The Other Side and Scalped, hired Aaron to write issues of Wolverine, Black Panther and eventually, an extended run on Ghost Rider that began in April 2008. His continued work on Black Panther also included a tie-in to the company-wide crossover storyline along with a "Secret Invasion" with David Lapham in 2009.
In January 2008, he signed an exclusive contract with Marvel, though it would not affect his work on Scalped. Later that July, he wrote the Penguin issue of The Joker's Asylum.
After a 4-issue stint on Wolverine in 2007, Aaron returned to the character with the ongoing series Wolverine: Weapon X, launched to coincide with the feature film X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Aaron commented, "With Wolverine: Weapon X we'll be trying to mix things up like that from arc to arc, so the first arc is a typical sort of black ops story but the second arc will jump right into the middle of a completely different genre," In 2010, the series was relaunched once again as simply Wolverine. He followed this with his current run on Thor: God of Thunder.
Ok, yes, I already peeked and spoiled myself on the whole Lady-Thor thing, but cut me some slack, because it's been out forever and my library won't order these for some reason. Anyway, I just wanted to see what happened in the BIG REVEAL! And with a title like Who is Thor?, I thought maybe issue 6 was going to have the Unmasking Scene in it.
I know I should have checked online first, but Marvel Unlimited tempted me with that cover when I looked this week, and I just...sigh Well, a girl's gotta have dreams, right? Besides, I just felt it in my heart! I knew it in my soul! Apparently, my heart & soul don't know shit. I got punked again!
Anyway this one has more stuff with Malackalack (or whatever his name is!) & the Minotaur dude, plus more of Thor's search to find out who this chick is...but no resolution.
Good comic, but don't expect to find out who the new Thor is in this one.
Thor Odinson is desperate to find out who is wielding his hammer. The Odinson isn't much of a sleuth though.
It was good to see a little bit of heart in this issue. The Odinson really cares about Jane Foster and it's sad to see her suffering yet refusing treatment that could likely heal her quickly. The new Thor shows up and easily reminds us she's one bad woman.
Still no identity. I liked seeing more Thor-Thor, but I truly hope they don't keep postponing the revealing of her identity, because it gets a bit tiring.
Less New Thor in this issue and more Thor Thor. It's still excellent and shows no signs of letting up as it steamrolls its way toward wherever it's going.
I really hope this series reveals the identity of the new Thor soon. The fact that they have strung this story out is beginning to be a little frustrating as personally I feel the series may begin lacking since we really can't ride along on any real emotional journey of the new Thor other than her figuring out her new power. Knowing where she came from, what she has overcome or wishes to overcome and other personal struggles are what I would most like to read about in regards to this character. It is still a great comic filled with wonderful art and interesting dialogue. I will continue to follow it but hope that the dangling of her secret identity won't continue to be the big hook of the story.
In this issue we are with Odison, who is pretty obsessed with the identity of the Goddess of Thunder and is trying to know who she is. At the same time, Malekith and Agger Roxx are making some evil deals. Much stuff for the next issue. I love this series :)
Odison, antiguo portador del martillo, sigue intentando averiguar quién es la nueva diosa. Mientras tanto, Malekit y Agger Roxx hacen chanchullos malvados... La serie sigue muy interesante. ¡Me encanta!
This story keeps it on high gear and wondering who Thor could possibly be, meanwhile "Odinson" grows frustrated. Heimdall makes a wise appearance, and actually hints at things that male Thor frustratingly ignores because he is more obsessed with finding out who Lady Thor is. Which is in character, so it all makes sense!
I do love the story line and art, but one my favorite things about this comic is how Jason Aaron shuts down the Goddess of Thunder haters in the letters column.
I LOVE the cover for this one, all female heros in the face of Thor? My compliments to the chef😍
We got the roxxon dude's villain origin sob story
"as someone else who knows you well, my prince, but I suggest, with all due respect... Let you focus less on her worthyess and more on your own."
Lol Heimdall's eyes are creepy and funny
The BIfrost as a rainbow is such a cute thing in a story of freaking vikings lol
"The Asgardian hall of medicine" must be the prettiest thing in all of asgard I've seen so far
Oh my, I didn't know Jane had breast cancer
"Sometimes a whisper can fell even a god. Be not prideful, Jane foster."
"please tell me you're not really calling yourself odinson. You're so much more than just your father's child. I hope you know that."
Lmfao seeing the two creeps make a deal is hilarious, roxxon Minotaur and malekith
"What... in the name of all that is holy... have you done? My duty. As all father of Asgard." Classic man behavior
FINALLY FREYJA SLAPPING ODIN he had it coming y'all
Oh wow.. Thor was trying to stop the dark pact of malekith and the Minotaur and as she was trying to protect the realms the destroyer, sent by the very origins of her hammer, came to put an obstacle in her way Oh boy Let's see how that one turns out, I guess This one had a nice plot

no se porque sigo leyendo este comic, me da tanta pena que destruyeran a mi thor ... pero quiero saber quien es la persona que se hace llamar digna de poseer a Mjolnir
Really digging this series! Lady Thor is fierce, the artist formerly known as Thor never wears a shirt, and the mystery component is great fun (even though I already know the big reveal).
