A short book with an beginning, middle, and end that all came out of nowhere. The whole story needed more development and honestly I should have just DNFed it from the start
I.D. is about an unhappy teen who finds a wallet. He tries to escape the troubles of his life by assuming someone elses idenity even though he knows it is wrong. Unfortunately, he fails to realize that this person might have a life that is worse than his and is eventually arrested for crimes that the person whose idenity he assumed commited.
The aspect of this work that would appeal the most to teens is that it is short. However, it will also appeal to teens because this teen is troubled, wants to run away, and thinks everyone elses life is easier than his.
This book addresses the lack of a lot of Developmental Assets, but it also addresses Honesty as the teen struggles to decide how far he should go in assuming the other persons identity. He obviously knows it is not the right choice even before he pays the price of being arrested for doing it.
The character is not totally believable, but there is a lot that has been added to try to make it more believable. The fact that the book is so short does not really give the author a lot of time for character development. The main character's constant worry about getting caught and going back and forth on his decisions to assume the identity add to his believablity.
I think it would be easiest to promote this book to teens by asking them how many people think their life is harder than most others. Human nature tends to make us think we have it the hardest and teens usually feel this way. Showing them the vision of the person who owns the wallet that the main character creates in his head and asking if they agree that he is correct.
I.D. by Vicki Grant was a story about how when one is faced with a tricky situation, one should always choose the path that they know is right. In this book, Chris found a wallet on his way to school and initially, he even tried to find the owner. Instead of giving it to the police he chose to keep it with him. Later when he was out with the girl he liked, Alexa, he was a couple dollars short in payment. He realized that he had the wallet and took some money out and paid for the food. This was probably Chris's biggest mistake because after this he would keep convincing himself that it was okay to use money that wasn't his. It was partly due to the fact that he was from a poor family that argued a lot and partly due to his poor decision making. Being a kid from a poor family and then finally getting a chance to live a life where money isn't an issue must have been captivating but that doesn't change the fact that it wasn't his money and he didn't even know the person who owned the wallet. After an argument with his family he decided he no longer wanted to live with them and ran away to go live with his cousins, he used some hair dye to look more like the owner of the wallet and then went to buy the plane ticket. The lady looked skeptically at him and Chris ended up getting arrested because the wallet belonged to a man that had committed many crimes. This goes to show that just because he seemed like he had a lot of money and lived a good life doesn't mean he actually did. Chris should have done the right thing when he first found the wallet, and because he didn't he paid the price.
My book was about this kid that found a wallet in the street. He almost looked like that guy on the license. He went to go return the wallet but no one was home and it looked like someone just moved out. He was poor and things at home were not good at all. He decided to dye his hair and other stuff to make it look like him. He found bank card with the pin on the back. He took out 200 and then looked back at the receipt and in his bank account was 67,000 dollars. He was shocked. The first thought was to get a good dinner and buy a plane ticket. At the airport, he had a bag claim that expired that day and he went in to get the bag. When he turned around there was a cop with a gun pointed at his head. The cop told him he was under arrest for murder, drug possession, and firearm possession. The main character was always in trouble but wasn't in a good home, to begin with. I kind of relate to him because I would try to return it but if I couldn't find him I would keep it. I like that it kept me reading and I wanted to go back to the book after I was done reading it. The author had the suspense really well because I wanted to know what happened. What he could have improved was the ending. I wish there was a series where he didn't get caught right away. I recommended it because it's a good book and I don't like reading.
A kid named Chris has a crappy life and it gets crappier. His school is not so good to him and his family is worse. He finds a wallet and steals someone’s identity because he looks like him with minor changes. That is the whole book, a teen pretending to be some rich guy. It is not that good of a book but it gives a life lesson to never steal someone’s identity (no brainer). It is appropriate for teens because he thinks everybody’s life is easier than his, like most teens feel. He wants to get away from his life and the perfect coincidence had showed up. The book I.D. by Vicki Grant (orca soundings) was a very quick read and it was not intense or nail-biting. I would give it a 2 star rating because it was like a book on how to steal someone’s identity but without the information on how to do a good job. I don’t think anyone would want to learn that except for future thieves. All the reader wants to know is who the rich guy is. I kept reading it because I want to read the whole series and all books are good enough to be read but this is on the lower side. I would still recommend this book to anyone because of the ending laugh and cliffhanger. Poor Chris!
The story was about a boy who hated his family and life. He was outside one day watching this guy walk his dog. That's he saw a wallet on the sidewalk. He picked it up asking if the wallet belonged to the guy walking his dog, he said no. So now he was faced with the challenge of keeping it and running away or trying to find the guys wallet. This reminds me how people are always stealing and having bad lives at home. At least this kid tried finding the guy who owned the wallet. This reminds me of the book HERO because they both have action, adventure, and someone trying to find someone important. My favorite part is when he is at the airport about to leave with the wallet and the identity of the person that previously owned the wallet, then the cops stopped him and said he was under arrest. The reason he couldn't find the owner of the wallet is that he was on the run for murder. The author made a really confusing story all make sense at the end. I would recommend this book because it is a short read and a really good story.
The book that I am reading is called P.D by Vicki Grant. This book is for people that don't really like reading long books its only 101 pages. The thing that i hate the most about this book is that its a little confusing at some points for me at least. My favorite part of this book is how descriptive it is it doesn't leave anything out. It's mainly about a boy that finds a wallet and has anger issues and doesn't know what to do. But then gets arrested for a crime he has committed.
It was a very detailed book, and I liked how the word structures were. It is a nice short book. To sum it up, it is a book about someone who found a wallet and took the identity of the person that owned the wallet.. It throws in a few cusses every now and then, but I rate it an 8.5/10. Only because I feel like the end is just a cliffhanger. I really hope Vicki Grant makes a sequel for it.
oh my lord, I liked the book and writing style, but the main character was kind of a stuck up person and a wuss at the same time. and the way it ended, like what the heck? he almost made it out and then he found out the person who he was pretending to be KILLED TWO PEOPLE AND ASSAULTED ANOTHER!?!?!? it was such a dead stop ending, I did not feel satisfied. lmaoo

some things I think you should know about the book is a young man has a horrible life, then one day he finds a wallet on the side of the road. It had about 40 dollars in it. There was also an i.d and credit cards. He looks a lot like the guy on the i.d. This gives him the idea to start a new life. He has a wild adventure. I choose this book because it is interesting. It gives excitement and mystery. I rated it a 5 because of how it keeps me interested. I think you would like this book if you like adventure. This book has excitement, adventure, and mystery. If you like these kind of things you will like this book.
This book is very crazy. The main character, Chris finds a wallet and does all types of things with it and there is a whole bunch of money inside. And also he looks EXACTLY like the person in the id photo but he has a different name. But then the cops find out about the wallet and so he has to run away and change his name. As he's getting to the airport security finds out that he was wanted, the cop told him he was under arrest for murder, drug possession, and firearm possession. So he runs again and takes a cab and what crazy is that he was actually the person in the wallet. I was soooo confused and then, in the end, you find out he's been using fake names and running away the entire time. The plot twist most definitely was unpredictable. I would recommend this book to everyone. The book is very interesting and you have to read it to understand what I'm talking about.

i read the book because it was about a rebellious kid and i am not rebellion so i don't know how they think and what they think so when i was read or skimming through the book i found that he had a hardish life. in this book i learn that we think alike it's like he puts a mask when his around others but in the inside he is nices and he wants to do his homework and have a nice girlfriend and finish school and he want to get a job and be independent. i could relet to the book it was great.
i felt like the book was going to be too much like disobeying or bullying people i just thought it was going to be too dark for my taste but i guess i was just judging a book by its cover. it was not too much as a big deal because i feel i can connect with what the guy is going through just a little bit. the characters was not bullying or too dark in fact they were pretty cool and nice and they were pretty funny too i got a couple of chuckles.
i really liked that when he start to take charge of his life and start make goals for himself once he start doing that i really start enjoying the book a lot more he kept me thing like i was always thinking what he going to get out of this or what is he going to decide to do next what's the outcome liked it because it make me think a lot about myself like when am i going to a grow up or act more mature is that why i don't have a boyfriend or am i ever going to be able to drive the character in the book is younger than me he's like 15 or 16 and he can drive i am like 17 years of age so the book kinda had me emotional.
i think this book is good for any age group i think older people like parents would enjoy it so they can kinda see how teens think i think teens can make lots of connections with the charter in the book i enjoyed read the book because i use to never think before i say anything but throughout the book you see that everything he do he think first
This story is about a guy named chris who had a hard time in school, he was suspended from school a couple of times for not showing up in school, and they said he had one more chance and then he should be out for good. One day he found a wallet on the sidewalk and he decides to pick it up, he looked around and tried to find the owner but he could ́t find him or her.
He starts to copy his look for the persons ID picture and begin to spend the money in the wallet and later he decides to use his credit card to. After a while spending the money he decides to travel aboard, But when he comes to the airport he sees a cop who starts to come closer to him. In the end of the story he get arrested for crimes who the persons ID that chris used, witch makes a very difficult situation.
I`d picked this book I.D written by Vicki Grant cause of the summary on the back of the book. This books genre i think belong to fantasy cause chris is being chased and he ́s going for a traveling. Because the plot of the book is about a teenager and how he react in school and how he stole a wallet on the street i should recommend this for like the teen readers cause they know a little bit better whats wrong and right. The book encourages teens to go to school and it ́s bad to steal things.
I don ́t think i am a such a good reader I should say i`́m a little bit over the beginner grade, So if you wanna read in a bit easier grade i really recommend this book for you. It was not the best book I have read in my life but this was one of the few books I finished reading.
Chris doesn't have the happiest life out there. His step-dad is abusive. His teacher hates him. The girl he likes, Alexa, turns him down. Then one night, he finds a wallet. It's filled with cash and he can't help but use the money. The wallet belongs to Andrew Ashbury. When Chris tries to contact the owner, he can't find him. Chris realizes that this guy is loaded. Since he could easily look like Andrew Ashbury by shaving his moustache and wear glasses, he decided to take on his identity in hopes of a better life. His plans were to go to Edmonton and start over. But his plans were foiled when he was at the airport. The baggage claims guy reported him to the police. Andrew Ashbury is under arrest for two counts of murder, forcible confinement, procurement of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of a firearm. But since Chris took Andrew Ashbury's identity, he was the one who paid the price. He was put into jail. Chris had tried to explain to the police that it wasn't him, but because his appearance was very much like Andrew's, they hadn't believed him.
I picked this book because Marco said it was a good read.
I finished this book because I wondered if Chris would end up with a better life, if he ended up with Alexa and also if he would ever find Andrew Ashbury and return the wallet.
I recommend this book to those who like reading teen-fiction (Leeah).

The story that I read was about a kid who found a wallet on the ground. He tried to give it back but when he calls the house the person doesn't live there. He starts to spend the money from the wallet and he starts to use the credit card that is in there and there is a bunch of money in the guys account. He is afraid that he is going to get caught. I think this book in non fiction. It also has a surprise ending.
I gave the book 2 stars because it was really boring. Pretty much the whole story he is just spending money from the wallet and thinking if he should do it or not. Also he talks a lot about him using the credit card and the person cancels it and then he will go to jail. This book has a really good ending and no on would never expect this kind of ending.Thats why I gave this book 2 stars.
I recommend this book to people who like a twisted ending and who like books that are not exciting until the end.
As I read this novel, I was rubbed the wrong way by the main character, Chris. He is a real jerk. I have no sympathy for people who sit there and mope about how horrible their life is, but refuse to do anything about it. I also can’t stand people who look at those around them and compare themselves; coveting what they have. The sense of entitlement that our generation has is astounding, and it’s quite obnoxious. Chris is a wonderful representation of the attitude many young people have nowadays–and it’s scary. Grant is such a talented writer and she manages to capture Chris’ mentality and mannerisms perfectly...
This book is very good. I thought the plot and setting is very good. The main character goes through alot of problems and has to make tough choses. He hates school and his family and desides to run away from it all. He finds a walet with money and credit cards inside. He discovers it belongs to someone he hates. he dresses up like him. He uses it to buy a suit so he could get a job. He disides to go live with his cousines and gets a plane ticket to go there. He gets arrested at the airport because the persone that owned the walet was selling drugs so he gets arrested and does not make it. It is a good book.
I gave this book 3/5 stars. I gave this book 3 stars because it was very enjoyable to read, but it got boring at times. This book was very easy to understand. I recommend this book to people who like an easy read, and a good story. It was about a boy who had a rough home life, and he found a wallet on the street. The wallet belonged to a very rich man, who happened to look a lot like him. He pretends to be him throughout the whole book. The book only really starts to get interesting at the end.
This book is short, suspenseful, and a very gripping read. Chris Bent's life at home and at school is full of frustrations and problems. After finding a wallet filled with cash on the sidewalk, he uses the money and the man's identity to live a life that he has always dreamed of. But does he get away with it? The book ends with a surprising twist - definitely an enjoyable read for anyone.
I thought this book was good. I liked how the author made the book feel like it was real. My favorite Bart of the was the end. The reason why I say that is because he had been running the whole time and when he got caught it wasn't the reason he thought it was going to be. I would recommend that you read this book. It isn't that long so it won't take long to read.
ok so the story is about a guy named chris who wants a newer and better life, finds an ID, pretends to be that person because he has a better life than him but its that's not entirely true!
plot twist on who Andrew really was was AMAZING!! I loved it!! It physicaly made me go in shock and had my jaw DROP!!!!!

i would recommend this book to that person who thinks that being someone else is the best way to forgeting your troubles.Because clearly 'I.D.' proves that person wrong.''If only he wouldn't have picked up that wallat''.
i'll be honest i needed a quick book to get my goal numbers up! this book while very short was also very powerful. i loved the twist at the end and the lesson about the consequences for the choices we make.
