The book I read was Exit Point, written by Laura Langston. This book is a fan-fiction, but the way it is written, feels so real. It is a fan-fiction but the thoughts, ideas, and events are actually happening in the real world today. The book begins with Logan, the main character who is living between two worlds. The afterlife and with the living. It is difficult for Logan to understand that taking the easy way out is sometimes difficult. In his afterlife, he meets his grandmother Arlene, also known as Gran in the story and Wade who is supposed to lead him to complete his challenges and to make sure Logan leaves his afterlife safely. His mission was to help save her younger sister, Amy who is being molest by their uncle Herb. Herb threatens Amy not to tell anyone that he does disgusting things to her so she keeps it all to herself. She is scared and Logan knows because he can read her mind. In order to help Amy, he appears in Amy’s dream, telling her that she NEEDS to talk to someone about it. Even if Amy does tell her parents, they will not believe her because she is just “a kid”. The last thing he could do to help Amy is to appear in front of one living person and tell them to stop Herb from hurting Amy. No one will listen to Amy if she tells the truth, his mother is too depressed to think straight even if the situation between Amy an Herb does seem fishy, at the same time, his father is denying the fact that Herb is doing bad things to Amy. How will Logan convince one of them to help Amy? If you are interested or curious about how they will help Amy, you should totally check out this book. Knock yourself out and enjoy this short book written by Laura Langston called Exit Point. There was this one part where it left me curious, why Uncle Herb would do such disgusting things if he were known as a good man, pilot, father, and husband? I recommend anyone who is interested in young adult, and mystery books to read this book. It left me curious, but it also left me picturing possible things that could happen.
