The Perfect Murder by Jeffrey Archer is a masterclass in short storytelling, proving once again why he is one of the best writers I’ve ever come across. This story is truly a twist in the tale, with Archer’s signature blend of suspense and surprise that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
He skillfully weaves the plot, leading you down a path that seems predictable, only to pull the rug out from under you in the most unexpected way. The twists are so well-executed that saying more would risk spoiling the experience. If you’re a fan of stories that challenge your expectations and leave you thinking long after you’ve turned the last page, The Perfect Murder is a must-read.
Jeffery Archers 'The Perfect Murder' had me hooked on every page. Murder mysteries have a huge place in my heart, and I can confidently say that this story is one that I will not forget. From the beginning of the story, I was able to identify different rhetorical modes that the author used to bring the story to life. The author wisely used them to do things like keep the reader hanging on every last word.
I don’t usually rate a short story with 5* but this has three of my favourite ingredients, namely the author, a murder mystery/courtroom drama and finally a brilliant twist right at the very end.
I’m a huge fan of his books as he is such a great story teller and he certainly didn’t disappoint with this short story.
I really love a good short story that ends with a twist, and these all fit the bill. When it is done right, it all comes off in the last couple of lines. I actually listened to these twice. Once to get the thrill of it, and once to take in the nuances involved. It's a pretty cool collection.
A set of six short stories from Jeffrey Archer. Interestingly I enjoyed all six - that doesn't normally happen with short stories. Most of them involved a clever twist that allowed someone to get away with murder.
Really enjoyed reading this script with a view of auditioning for a production of the play. I enjoyed working on his play 'The Accused' some years ago and this has a lot of similarities with twists that hark back to 'Witness for the Prosecution'.
