What a wonderful read!

I read this book for my counseling children and adolescence class, but I ended up loving it so much! It is an easy read, and it explains what play therapy is and the benefits to it very well! It also talks about other forms of play therapy, which I loved because now I have developed an interest in filial play therapy!

The chapters that included real examples of play therapy sessions were spectacular. These were what really solidified my interest in play therapy and my belief that it is always in the best interest of the child to work alongside their family.

If you want to work with kids and you are a systemic thinker, this book is for you!!

This was a good big-picture view of the usefulness of play in family therapy. I am leaving the book with a few general ideas to add to my practice but not enough details I would say I feel confident or entirely competent. A good introduction overall.
