“Stop trying to make my dreams come true, Kain. You’re all of them.”

I have never been more depressed to see a series come to an end outside of the On Us series. The way Kain and Bel will forever be apart of me goes without saying. I loved tf out of this series and am about to be down y’all’s throats until you’ve read it!

I said Bel hit rock bottom in book two but apparently there was an express elevator that only went down because she reached hell in book three. I didnt know what was going to happen and was sooooo stressed waiting for the outcome. One thing I never doubted tho was Kain’s love and devotion for her. These two were destined for each other and you felt it deeply on every page.

The healing that took place in book three was soooo necessary! The way this author wrote about extremely heavy topics in our community and did so in such a way that was tasteful was incredible. The therapists and the family bond and real friendships were everything! This book taught soooo many lessons on love, life and forgiveness.

I don’t have a single complaint after submerging myself in their world this past week. These two as well as their sub characters will forever have a special place in my heart. I’m glad we’re getting Julian’s story because I have sooooo many questions that need answering about him.

I said it during my review of book one and I’ll say it again, if you never take another recommendation from me again, let this be the last one…..read this series!!

A special shoutout to LaToya for putting me up on game about this series! You’re the GOAT for this one! ❤️

Loving through it all

I barely have anything left to give this review😩😩

Kain and Arabella wrecked me. Bel was a shell of herself after remembering her trauma. She was a zombie and she preferred it that way so she could be numb and avoid remembering the pain from her childhood. Kain was trying so hard to help her get back to herself, but she was spiraling and refused his help. When he had his weak moment, it crushed Bel and she was already down bad. The way my girl fell off a cliff was so damn bad. Her character and values were unrecognizable to her normal self and she was hurting so bad she couldn't find her way out of it.

I was almost relieved when she hit rock bottom. I was literally exhausted with her bs and harm to herself. The way Kain loved her through it and held back his feelings was just everything. We love a selfless King and he showed so much restraint. Kain and Bel were special, because the way they held each other down during the tough times.... Goodness and they were so young. Older people would've folded.

I love that every issue regarding the main couple was resolved. The beautiful epilogue was perfect and solidified Kain and Bel's HEA. This story was beautifully written and I felt everything they were going through. Excellent series for a new to me author. I will gladly read more of her books in the future. I felt like she left an opening for Julian and Brielle to have a story and I'm ready 🤷🏾‍♀️

I was so proud of Kain and Arabella. They did the work it paid off in the end for them both. I love that they fought their way back to each other. Julian left me a little puzzled. I hope to dig deeper into what he has going on in the future. This was a great series. I hated for it to end but I definitely want to read more from this author.

Amazing Storytelling- Bel & Kain Forever!

Soul Tie crushed me but put me quickly back together again. By the end of Kain and Arabella’s story, I wanted to give them both a hug and the loudest cheers because I felt like I knew them personally. I felt their pain, hurt and cries for help. I could easily place myself in their shoes and frankly, their stories could be mine.

Gabriela Ge outdid herself; cheers to her for crafting such an amazing story. The characters were developed well. I could vividly see the scenes and conversations as they were happening on the page. The author was very detailed and descriptive, not in a way that seems too much. She allowed the characters to tell their story it didn’t seem forced.

The story was a mixture of both characters understanding Arabella’s addiction and Kain’s mental health battle. The scenes were raw in the beginning, by 10% I was fighting hard to keep the tears away. What I loved the most about this story was the closure I received from the character’s stories. All of my questions were answered, street justice was served, and the characters grew right before my eyes. The author highlighted the importance of setting boundaries, giving yourself grace, and facing obstacles “one step” at a time. Her attention to detail when Arabella had a near-death experience was spot on. The aftermath of the situation was realistic and perfectly executed.

While working in a helping profession, I have found myself with clients that are resistant to help. Clients that don’t understand the depth of their addiction or mental illness and how to navigate their feelings after coming to terms with these things. I can type all day how well-written and thought-provoking this book/series was, but you must experience it on your own.

The bottom line is to read this series; you will not regret it. Also, I loved that Kain and Arabella got the chance to date and remember why they fell for each other. The romance and intimacy throughout the story were much appreciated. I was squealing so much!! Kain has solidified himself as BAE- there is absolutely nothing he wouldn’t do for Bel. 10 ⭐️

Give yourself grace with this one, some topics can trigger such as overdose, child neglect, substance abuse treatment, etc.

Full Series Review

Kain is an up-and-coming boxer but he is also a product of the streets and has learned how to coexist in both worlds. Throughout the series Kain struggles with being two people, the man who is gaining more fame with each boxing match he has and the man who uses violence in the streets to let out his pent up aggression. Arabella has had a rough life growing up poor with a drug addicted mother. Overnight Arabella’s life changes after her deadbeat father dies leaving her and her brother millions. Arabella has always been an artist and now has opportunities that she has never had before only problem she seems to keep having is the recurring nightmares that keep her up at night until Kain enters her life.

This series ruined me. I have been in my feelings since I picked up Soul Crush days ago. Arabella and Kain have had me in tears. Their journey to love was so heartbreaking but at the same time so poetic. I don’t think I have rooted for a book couple more than I was rooting for Arabella and Kain. The love they had for one another was that all-consuming kind of love. Throughout the entire series you get a glimpse into Arabella and Kain’s childhood traumas which give you a deeper understanding of how and why they are who they are.

The first book, Soul Crush, gives a glimpse into Arabella’s trauma then builds in book two. You do however get a full understanding of Kain’s trauma and his issues in Soul Crush. I loved how real and raw Gabriela wrote about Kain’s issues. I felt like I was able to feel every emotion Kain was feeling as he slipped further into his episode. His pain had me in tears. As he is going through his struggles it’s easy to see why Kain clung to his love for Arabella and while it was heartbreaking it was beautiful at the same time.

Soul Glitch broke me even further. In Soul Glitch we finally learn about Arabella’s memories, and I thought I cried reading Soul Crush, but it was nothing compared to how Soul Glitch had me. I kept thinking to myself “poor Arabella” sis was going through it. But my boy Kain was determined not to leave her side. There was a lot going on in this book from Arabella’s trauma, Kain’s mental health, to family issues.

Just when I thought I was done crying Soul Ties had me pulling out another tissues to dry my eyes. Arabella and her struggles came to a head in book three, yet and still Kain wasn’t leaving her side. No matter how hard Arabella tried to push Kain away bro still showed up for her.

This series takes you on an emotional rollercoaster. I love how Gabriela Ge wrote about mental health and addiction, the things Arabella and Kain went through were so heartbreaking and I felt every bit of their pain. Gabriela didn’t water down any of their struggles. I also love how therapy was normalized in this series. Arabella and Kain had a lot to work through to get their HEA but it made them stronger individually and as a couple.

If you don’t mind shedding buckets of tears I highly recommend this series. Just keep in mind this book comes with trigger warning: mental health issues, suicide, child sexual abuse, and addiction.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Soul series

This book was so heavy but so worth the read.

Arabella Hilaire, a young artist raised by her brother (Julian Hilaire) who inherits millions after her absent father dies. By a chance encounter she meets Kain “Killa K” Carter, an up and coming boxer from the streets. The two quickly find comfort and love in each other, something new for both of them, but life isn’t making their story easy.

I definitely had to review the series as a whole as all 3 books run together. This series was very emotionally exhausting but i was buckled in for the ride.

Kain was battling a mental illness that he was not addressing head on. He used boxing and violence to quiet his mind and it all unravels. Gabriela Ge really humanized Kain’s mental illness, you really felt him coming undone and i really wanted to save him. I’m glad in the end he accepted his diagnosis and took the needed steps to be able to live happily.

Arabella, that poor girl! I felt like her life just kept getting worse. She falls for Kain, and is dealing with his diagnosis and navigating their new normal. Then her past comes back to haunt her. I honestly HATE her brother, he was so controlling for a man that at one point lived a similar life to Kain. Then he uses his illness against him to split them up… GO TO HELL, Julian!! Watching Arabella spiral while dealing with her trauma was so heartbreaking, she deserved so much better from everyone around her. I love that Kain didn’t give up on her and her value never decreased to him based on the decisions she was making.

…. Again, Julian can go straight to hell. Same with Brielle, at first i liked her but by the end i was not feeling her.

Overall i really enjoyed this series. If you’ve read it let me know your thoughts, i clearly have strong feelings about these characters lol (good and bad).

✨Book Review✨

Soul Tie definition “an intense spiritual connection between two people that results in a mutual learning experience.”

Kain and Arabella are soul mates, for sure.

I’m not going to lie to y’all Arabella was working my nerves at the beginning of this book; she was playing the victim too much for me (when it came to Kain). Yes, he messed up, but let’s not act like your shit doesn’t stink!

Taliah, Rich, and that whole “friend” group could catch these hands. Rich, spoiled assholes!! They had me 😡! But they got what was coming to them.

Once again, the therapy sessions for both Kain and Arabella were top-tier! Their growth was amazing to witness.

That fight🥊 scene had me on the edge of my seat!! That is why I couldn’t date a boxer; I would be ready to box, too 😂. But Kain made up for the scare in them sheets, baby 🥵🥵. The chemistry between these two has always been top-tier, and the spice was given throughout the series even though it wasn’t the main focus of their relationship.

Julian knows he is f**ked up for what he did, and I seriously need him to explain himself.

That ending was so beautiful I couldn’t stop the tears and keep the smile off my face.

Gabriella told a fantastic story; the character and story development was A1. This series will live with me forever. I can’t wait to get the physical copies of this series and annotate the hell out of them!!

Listen, grab your favorite snacks, a cozy blanket, and a stiff drink, and get ready to go on the ride of your life. You will eat this series up. Trust me.

— Arabella and Kain took me through the wringer in this trilogy. I experienced almost every emotion while reading. Mental health was written beautifully in this series. I’m so happy they finally receive their HEA together.

This review is for soul crush so glitch and soul tie in the series. I would give this whole series about 3.5 stars. The plot of the book was intriguing and it was interesting seeing how the characters developed over the three books. I really liked the mental health as well as even the drug addiction Storyline that was included in this book series. My only downside of the series was there was too much emphasis on their physical attraction for each other and so sometimes the book read a little bit juvenile. There were times where I wanted to see the couple explore their issues deeply, but instead they would end up sleeping together . I absolutely hated Julian as a character in this book. I don’t understand why he was written as a brother and a father figure. I think the author should’ve chosen one role for him to play in his sisters life because he ended up being more like a villain. I would still recommend this series as a good filler/distraction after reading, may be a heavier topic book.

wow

This story really brought it all together. I teared up reading this one. The author broke these characters down to put them back together. These two had to fight and do the work to make it back to each other. Kain REFUSED to give up on their love. Unfortunately for Bel, she’ll never get the answers she’s seeking. The plot twist about Julian though! I freaking knew it!!! But everything else we found out. SHOOK! The self discovery, the secrets, the determination in this was insane. I literally yelled out “OMG” a million times reading this book. All of my questions and concerns were addressed by the end.

The book was a tad long. The Julian thing pissed me off but I know that’s a set up for his own book. I hope he ends up with someone completely new. I also wonder if Silas will have his own book. There were a few inconsistencies with characters ages but it didn’t take away from the story. I feel like the side characters definitely took a back seat in this book. I will say at the end end there was way too much crying from the OGs.

speechless

Yet again! This was pretty much me the entire series! This was an amazingly sensational series! I said what I said. It had me an emotional mess. On pins and needles waiting to see what was going to happen next. My poor edges. People can only wish for the love Kain had for her do you hear what I’m saying. Yeah he made mistakes. Nobody is perfect. But it was his loyalty. And the way he stuck by her. He not only faught for her but with her. He wasn’t giving up and he refused to let her! If they didn’t have anyone else they knew they had each other at the end of the day. Regardless of how or what else said or felt!

Just read it

This entire series was good to the last drop. Yes, it was heavy... meaning...the topics had some weight to them. They are everyday battles, but heavy nonetheless. Young love, drugs, alcohol, abuse, neglect, heavy...,but it all was needed to make this beautiful love story. Just read the damn series.

Whewwww. Rollercoaster of emotions. Arabella, I wanted to put my foot so far up her ass because girl wtf is you doing. I hate what happened to her but I feel like it had to happened. Now she could see who was really down for her. I was so happy for her transition cause sis came a long way & she definitely deserved happiness. Kain evolved. I was super proud of him. I really just love the way he love his wife. I love the man he became. Niko is such a good man he deserve happiness after all he been through. Ava didn't piss me off in this book so I guess she's alright for right now lol. Rocky pissed me off being hardheaded but you know the saying “a hard head makes a soft ass". I hate it had to be him but I hope he learned. Ron got what he deserved such a unloyal soul. Julian gotten better with staying outta Kain & Arabella business. I'm happy for that. He pissed me off how he did Brielle tho. It was grimey asf. Sis need her lick back for sure for sure. Damn I need more lol I'm not ready for this series to be over. This was so freaking dope & I recommend all to get into it. Gabriela you ate this series up & left no crumbs behind.

* Series Review* Books 1-3

"We love you Arabella. We wish we knew you a long time ago." - A & A. Don't do this to me because, same
Arabella is 18 living with her brother and guardian Julian who is 25. She's an artist and they only have each other. They come into a very unexpected inheritance that changes their lives. I knew I was going to love Arabella from page 3. "I hope they bury her annoying ass with him."

Kain "Killa K" Carter is an aspiring undefeated lightweight boxer and bad boy with a soft spot for his brother who is like his son and for the girl with the beautiful hazel eyes. My heart broke for Kain in the Maldives. I cried throughout this series but I don't think l've ever been scared reading a book until that scene.

Kain and Arabella scared me in a way that I started to lose hope. Their mental health issues and the secrets from their past were created to protect them but only ended up destroying them in a way that they had to start over from Day
1. I commend Gabriela for her representation of therapy throughout this series. The family they built consisted of their siblings, therapists, doctors, and lifelong friends. Thank goodness for Niko. I am still on the fence about Brielle, but my heart hurts for her too. The secondary characters were equally captivating. Hi Julian. Hi Ron. Hi Taliah.

At 19 and 23 they are far beyond their years. Kain and Arabella are beautiful & flawed. Smart & talented. They are confused & sure. They are forgiven and they forgave. They held secrets but they also held each other. They are beautifully destroyed canvases. They are life & they are death. There was so much background noise in their lives that tore at them and their love literally and figuratively but their love never wavered. One of my favorite verses states that God makes everything beautiful in time - Kain & Arabella exemplify that individually and together. My heart is full because I met these two beautiful souls.

NO WORDS could do these books justice and I’m an anxious overthinker but I’ll try… (full series “review”)

I can’t remember the last time I’ve been so taken with a story. Gabriela Ge TRULY TRULY has a gift. From the literal beginning to the end of every single book of this series, I was just absolutely enthralled by what was before me.

Gabriela’s Ge ability to write such a unique point of view on significant topics like mental illness and addiction in the black community is different from what’s depicted in most forms of media today and that’s one of the things I loved most about reading this series. Everything felt so authentic — the backgrounds of these characters, the stories of where they came from, the village of people around them, and the tough love that came into play when interacting with them. Like I could really read these books over and over and never get tired omg.

Kain and Arabella’s story is so heartbreakingly beautiful. Everything the both of them have been through individually and what they go through together as a couple is a true testament as to why this series is called the Soul Series.
This story is kind of what I’d imagine watching Kismet happen in real life is like. Two lost souls meet by chance, and over time they develop a bond, and in a way start each other’s domino effect of a soul-searching journey.

This series turned my heart every way but loose (in a good way) and they are for sure going into my bookish hall of fame. If I could hug all the versions of Kain and Arabella, I would. I was rooting for them every single step of the way. Gabriella Ge has made a forever fan out of me and I can’t wait to see what else she has in store <3

I love Kain & Arabella💕and I’m so proud of their outcome, it wasn’t easy by a long-shot but they got there and that’s all that matters🥲. Their incredible journey was so captivating and I enjoyed every second of it 🥺👏🏾. Im glad that all three of these books are longgg !!! I love me a long book cause it gives us a chance to really connect with the characters and to witness their growth . Kain Carter is the man!!!! He never missed an opportunity to remind Bel that he loved her or to compliment her and I loved that 👏🏾🥰 . Arabella went through so much hardships in her life that sometimes I forgot she was so young but I’m glad that she persevered and overcame those awful obstacles and bounced back😊🤞🏽. This series is one of my fav reads ever and it was so well written like wow. I cannot wait to see what else this author has in store for us😁⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I really need the scoop with Julian & Brielle like what’s up with them ?🙊👀

amazing

This book brought tears to my eyes, laughter from my gut, & love for just about every character. Bel had me so frustrated but I know she went thru so much & wanted her memories to stop. I love the growth her and Kain made & how they helped each other evolve. Their love was genuine as well as their true circle of friends/fam. I definitely need an update on Julian & Bri! The twins too! But the overall message put me inside their shoes & saw how & why things were affecting their mental and sobriety. Everyone has a story but it’s up to you to turn it at around. Don’t worry about the judgement or the hardships, as long as you press forward and never be ashamed of help and therapy. And it made me happy that they could eventually be there to help each other in the process.

soul stirring (whole series review)

I don’t want to make a long review so i’ll simply say read the book. Arabella and Kane are so raw and real, everything they go through and grow from is so raw and real. These characters are so relatable you cant help but to root for their love and connection and happiness. I love these characters I hope you do too. This book has very heavy topics such as mental illness drug addiction, abuse and sexual assault so if any of those topics trigger you deeply i suggest taking it one step at a time. This book will also leave you craving me. Im not a Brooklyn girl but at the end of this book series it definitely got me ready to pack up and move to bushwick so i can see these characters lmao. I love this story and i hope you do to if you give it a try🤞🏽🤎

This was the conclusion to a heartbreaking enduring love story. Arabella and Kain's love story is not an easy one. It's full of so much pain. These two went through a lot separately and together. There are a lot of heavy triggering themes in this trilogy. This is not a low angst low drama series. A lot of bad things happen before we get to the coveted happily ever after. This is one of the best series I've ever read. These characters will work your nerves and have you stressed. However they will also make you love them and root for them to get the happiness they so deserve. Gabriela Ge wrote the hell out of this series and I wish it were more popular. If you haven't I highly recommend reading this series. These characters will make you feel very deeply.

You know write these characters in a way she did deserves praise for that alone. These where not characters who were perfect. They had hard lived coming up and was still fighting the demons from there past. Even the ones the couldn’t remember. My heart broke so many times in this serous as I was there experiencing their pain right then in there. Things happen like this in world like this everyday especially in the black community where we are always taught to be strong. Something’s shit had to blow up and it was painful and ugly as hell. But the way these two kept fighting and pushing even at the lowest points in their lives and their families support was great. I can’t say that about some want to be friends but damn y’all read this series.

SOOOO many emotions, this last book took me through them all. But the most profound is pride. I am sooo proud of Arabella and Kain. They both have grown soo much from the characters we got to know in book 1.

Arabella goes through so much in this last one and experienced so much character growth as a result. Her journey as a woman and wife (truly beautiful)❤️

Kain, whew I am soooo proud of him. I love the way he learned how to show up for himself like he does everyone else. I loved his therapy journey.

I loved all of the themes explored in this book. I went from crying tears of devastation early in this book to tears of true joy.

Arabella and Kain are two characters that will stay with me❤️

Great Ending❤️

Another great job. This authors writing is At a next level. She is very descriptive and her character building is phenomenal. The grow from book one to book 3 shows that this author truly studies and appreciate her craft. This was an amazing series. The mental health component and knowledge , the drug misuse and abuse knowledge that was shown in this authors writing was phenomenal. Wow! She does such a great job. She researches the topics and makes sure we get it all. Again, I will continue to read this author and I’m looking forward to seeing more of the journey that shows up of all of these characters.

Soul Series🔥🔥

The emotional ride I just went on with these three books smh….I waited until I finished the entire series (3books) to post a review. This is my first time reading any books by this author. She did NOT disappoint! Arabella and Kain took that go better or worse line in their wedding vows very seriously! I will say the growth was amazing and very well written I got upset a few times 😆 I felt like I was friends with Arabella so everything that happened to her was happening to me. Loved this series!!!!

It’s Definitely a Knock Out

I’m a sucka for black love, both fictional and non; Barack and Michelle, Nicole and Boris, Lebron and Savannah, Jarrod and Shay, Whitley and Dewayne and yessss Kain and Bella. This couple has tugged on my heart strings in ALL three books. I cried every time Kain talked that talk to his beautiful, hazel eyed love. I cried every time Bella fought for her life and her love. If you love A GOOD love story with a side of struggle, download it Now. But start with book one, Soul Crush. You won’t regret it.

Listennn, this series was everything. Just be ready to lend it your heart and soul because it still has mine in a chokehold! The love Kain and Arabella shared was priceless! The emotions I felt reading this series were surreal. My tears, laughter, and smiles were real life! Book 2 was a lot for me emotionally because I've witnessed it first hand with loved ones! Wheww, but book 3 took any little pieces of my heart that were left! Thank you for such a good read, Gabriela Ge!

Soul Series💜

This series was fantastic! I read each book back to back while at a work conference in Vegas. Needless to say this series out shined Vegas and all its spectacular because I stayed glued to the pages. Thus NTMA will definitely be a 1 click favorite 💜 now! I love Arabella and Kain both immensely flaws and all. The obstacles they faced separately where huge. Most people would’ve given in to the pain. Julian loves Arabella so much. I feel sorry for Bri and Sasha and whoever has him romantically 😩 I could stay in this world 🌎 you created forever!
