Rate this book
Each act of kindness and love
touches lives more deeply than we ever know.

Like pebbles dropped in a pond, our simplest acts of courage, love, and faith can create ripples that extend far beyond our own sphere. In Ripples of Joy, Cheryl Kirking has written and compiled poignant stories from her own experience, and from people in all walks of life who learned how one instance of giving or receiving kindness can influence the lives of many.

This was a life-changing book for me, so I thank my teacher and friend for lending this to me. Simply put, this is a collection of stories from people from all walks of life who, in their small ways, added a little more good in the world. It also incorporated inspirational quotes before every story. With my increasing disillusionment in life, these stories helped me see that there is still some good, and life isn't utterly hopeless.

One of my favorite quotes:

Do all the good you can.
By all the means you can.
In all the ways you can.
In all the places you can.
At all the times you can.
To all the people you can.
As long as ever you can.
-John Wesley

And maybe, just maybe, life will be better.

I loved this book. I honestly was expecting it to be cheesy and in the first story, my hardened heart was softened. I again am amazed by the ways in which God shows us his beauty and love-and Kirking captures this beauty in a touching fashion. This book highlights the love and freedom that exists in knowing Christ, doing so in a moving way. This book was as a blessing to me, serving as an unexpected afternoon shower after a season of immense drought. As I read several stories and the associated quotes, I was reminded so strongly of a dear friend. I can’t wait to gift her this book and hopefully carry on ripples of joy.

This was one of those books that helped in fuelling my desire for reading. It was my brother who introduced this book to me. Well, he was the first person I really did look up to when it comes to books, English language and public speaking. I can say he did not just inspire me... he motivated me to widen my horizon and not to only limit educating myself in the four walls of the classroom. I was so lucky to have a brother like you. Little did you know, your kindness for dropping your piece of wisdom has been that tiny pebble that actually created ripples and has significantly touched my being. I wouldn't be who I am today if not for that piece of pebble you dropped. Thank you very much from the bottom my heart!

For you out there, read this book and it can truly create ripples of joy in your heart. You will surely be forever thankful for all the kindness that you have been blessed in your life.
