[Ménage Amour: Erotic Sci-Fi Ménage a Trois Romance, M/M/F, M/M]
A passionate, spoiled princess. A brilliant intelligence officer. A tough marine.
Princess Allison, the coddled daughter of the Emperor of Mankind, is irreparably disturbed by the vicious war with the cat-like Arupians. Her social life is in shambles. Her friends are all on duty. Allie spends her days teaching old American history at the University or else hiding out in the royal Safe Room.
Then two fascinating men enter her life.
Second Lieutenant Damon Hyde is a swaggering and respected marine. Most people think he's fearless--except for Allie, who falls for his vulnerability.
Lieutenant JG Harrison Douglas is brilliant. Most people think he's also crazy--except for Allie, who is drawn to his eccentricity.
Brought together by fate, Allie falls in love, torn between the two men who love her and fight to win her. As new and disparate emotions blossom, Allie, Damon, and Harry are pulled into a passionate, polyamorous relationship. The three are forced to come to terms with their love for one another as they rely on their wits and skills, not only for their own survival, but also for all mankind on His Majesty's Star Ship Boone.
Melodee Aaron writes predominately in the subgenre of science fiction (hard), but she also works in fantasy, paranormal, historical, and contemporary settings.
Often, these subgenres are blended together in her stories with interesting results. After all, is it unreasonable for an advanced civilization to have pyrokinetic abilities that are provided by instrumentation? Ditto for shape shifters?
Many of Melodee's works involve the concept of "polyamory". The idea of polyamorous love—true romantic polyamorous love—between more than two people has long been a hallmark of Melodee's stories and her fresh take on the subject goes far beyond the traditional ménage and simple three-way-sex common in so much of erotica and erotica romance.
In addition to erotica romance, Melodee also writes erotica and screenplays for mainstream and adult films.
This is my first menage book. It had been sitting in my virtual shelf for a long time and I decide, hey why not just try this genre. If all menage book is like this, I won't touch this genre anymore. This is the worst romance book I've ever read. It is so frustrating to read about a spoilt, selfish, horny and desperate princess. Most of the time, I feel like dragging her out of the book and punch her. Seriously!
So the story goes like this:
To top it off, the sex scenes are not hot at all. Or maybe I don't like the main lead. I don't know.. But this book is seriously MEHHH!
P/S I don't think I have ever written such a long review before, I was just so not okay with the heroine!
The Polyamorous Princess wasn't very good. There were so many things wrong with it. It was boring, the main characters had no depth nor any chemistry. The plot was not the least bit intriguing and the sex scenes were dull. The writing style too simplistic. I couldn't understand how a sci-fi romance seemed so very modern. The way they spoke and acted seemed common and out of place. Some of the words the author used during the sex scenes had me laughing because they were so bad. "Anal vestibule" was ridiculous. I wouldn't recommend this.
I didn't really like this book. Don't get me wrong, the love scenes were good, but I felt that Allie gave up too quickly on Damon. And once he was incorporated into the menage, I still felt he was an outsider to Harry and Allie's relationship. This is one of the main reasons I am always skeptical of meange romances. There never seems to be a way to make all parties involved stand on equal footing. This one definitely didn't do a good job at even attempting it. I felt Damon got short-changed.
