He’s everything I’m not allowed to be—or be around—thanks to an overbearing brother who just happens to be Dane’s captain.
But when Dane rescues me from a bad situation, I can’t help but want him, which leads to a secret relationship that allows me to grow.
Then, the worst thing that could ever happen to me, happens. And one bad decision leads to another.
I find myself hurting everyone I ever cared about.
Maybe I should have listened to my brother—since all I do is make mistakes--and maybe I never should have kept secrets from the player who was never playing at all when it came to loving me.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cathryn Fox is a wife, mom, sister, daughter, aunt and friend. She loves dogs, sunny weather, anything chocolate (she never says no to a brownie) pizza and red wine. Cathryn lives in beautiful Nova Scotia with her husband, who is convinced he can turn her into a mixed martial arts fan. When not writing, Cathryn can be found Skyping with her son living in Seattle (could he have moved any farther away?) shopping with her daughter in the city, watching a big action flick with her husband, or hanging out and laughing with friends.
These two were just likable people, who are coming into their own, as people their age have to do! They both have some deep seeded baggage, and they both want to make everyone else happy. When they find that sneaking around with each other makes them happy, they go for it. After a while though, they want more than that, and decisions need to be made. My heart ached for them both at several points in their journey, but the love they show each other is beautiful, even when they don’t recognize the emotions. A great start to 2.0 of the series 😊
Scheduled to be released July 4th, 2023, Moving Target is the seventh book in Cathryn Fox’s Scotia Storms hockey romance series. So far, each of the stories in this series seems to focus on a different area of the Maritimes. Primarily set in Halifax, Nova Scotia, this one has some tasty trips to Dane’s family’s cheese farm in Bass River.
Dane’s family seems set on Dane following his brother’s footsteps and playing for the NHL, but is that what Dane really wants? Meanwhile, will Kendra continue to let her brother direct and control her life?
I enjoyed watching Dane and Kendra undergo considerable personal growth and become a team in this story. I also enjoyed all the cheese references and the details included about the Halifax waterfront. I am looking forward to reading Jessie and Josie's story in the next installment of this series.
