This book A Close Call by Barbara Lucas was a really short story. I thought this book was extremely cute and funny. It was about a pig's attempt to join his friend Goosey Dear in a swim and nearly drowns. Pink Pig was highly confident that he could do the swim because it looked "easy." It caught him by surprise once he jumped in and sunk straight to the bottom and could not control himself. My favorite part was when pink piggy got out of the water and went in his mud pool, while he was laying there he saw birds flying and said, "I wonder if it's hard to fly?" I laughed because I just knew he was going to try it! The ending was a mystery so I made an inference that he was going to try to master flying. I think children would really enjoy this book and it teaches children that you cannot do everything you see because everybody has their limitations.
