aka Sharon Harlow

Bestselling author Sharon Gillenwater writes stories about love—between a man and a woman, of family and home, and the everlasting love of God and Jesus.

She grew up on a ranch in the Rolling Plains of West Texas, near the small town of Colorado City. Marriage took her across the country, but Texas is still dear to her heart. All of her Christian contemporary romances and most of her Christian historical romances are set in small West Texas towns filled with rugged, yet tenderhearted cowboys and strong, yet compassionate women.

While on a trip to England and Scotland years ago, the history and people captured her imagination. After returning home, she discovered Regency romances and another favorite time period and setting. She currently has two Christian Regency historical romances available, along with three sweet historical Regency romances.

She and her husband live in a quiet, rural area of Washington state with a wonderful view of the mountains. A friend once commented, “It’s like a writer’s retreat.” Sharon agrees and is busy dreaming up stories about Texas cowboys or English and Scottish heroes and the women who win their hearts.

I enjoyed this story. There were a lot of details and dialogue but it was all interesting. I would have liked it more if there had been more going on in the story. It seemed a long time to get where the story was going. There was a good faith thread though. Overall a good, clean, sweet read.

This is a wonderful book! A well crafted and intrically woven storyline that refused to let me put it down. I loved how faith brought both of these wounded people together to heal. I highly recommend this author.

Home Sweet Texas

This was a wonderful story. Trusting God in the darkest of times. A young lady wandering along a creek bed, trying to find her way out of a canyon. Her second day with nothing but near ripe plums to eat and water from the creek. Jake saw this person from his horse. He was riding over his ranch. He saw her collapse and he rushed to her. Very heart rendering story. You will be blessed from reading this.

love and adventure

This is a fast moving book about a women who has lost her memory. She is found wandering in the wilderness of a ranch in west Texas. The rancher, former Texas Ranger, takes her in to live with him and his aunt. The rest of the book tells of her finding her memory and who she really is.

A standard Christian romance by Sharon Gillenwater. What makes this story standout and elevate it was the suspense and drama behind the amnesia Sunny/Carolyn suffered. 3.5 stars and a good all around story.

Didn’t keep my attention

I usually read a book in 1-2 days. This book took me a week to read and I fell asleep a few times. I didn’t pull me in and keep my attention.

This story really spoke to me, as a widow who very much still loves her husband. It also moved at a good pace and had a strong message. I need to read more of her books!

2.5 stars. I enjoyed the setting, characters and basic idea of the story. But the plot was really predictable and you could see every "revelation" coming a mile away. Also, the writing was competent but not especially good, as both dialogue and descriptions were somewhat stilted. So I can't recommend this to anyone but die hard Christian romance fans and won't be seeking out other books by this author any time soon.

I enjoyed this story. Both characters had issues to deal with before they could be together, and I liked that both realized that this had to come before a relationship developed between them. I was a little disappointed that the mystery/suspense portion was a little more intense, but it was a good, easy escape read.

I liked it better than Jenna's Cowboy, but it still wasn't as good as the Highland books.

Given the nickname Sunni, by her rescuer Jake, she tries to make sense of her life now in west Texas. Was she there before her amnesia?
