WOW JUST WOW ASH HOSKING! You totally outdid yourself (which is saying something)! I'm going to keep this review pretty short & sweet since going in blind is the best way to go. There's so much goodness in the pages with a ton of emotional terrorism, LOL! Seriously though, it hit me hard in the feels & I would have to pause to catch my breath. Next up is the heat, and it's HOT HOT HOT to keep me warm while the Oklahoma wind chill was freezing so there's that. Finally, the twists coming in hot, yeah, I was on the edge of my seat & forgot I've been trying to keep the f-bombs at bay so my grandbabies don't have a sailor's mouth like mine LOL! I love this author so much, and I will read whatever I see by her without reading the blurb, so Killjoy definitely blew me away since I didn't see it coming! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

My feelings:

Ash Hosking book is a masterpiece, capturing all of the emotions and keeping readers on their toes until the very end. The story is a rollercoaster ride, filled with heart-pumping moments that will have you laughing out loud one moment and shedding tears the next. And let me tell you, things get steamy in these pages!

But what truly impressed me were the unexpected plot twists that had me gripping the edge of my seat. Each twist was cleverly crafted and kept me guessing until the very end.

Ash has solidified themselves as one of my favorite authors, and I will eagerly devour anything they write without even glancing at the blurb. Trust me, Killjoy is a MUST-READ that will stay with you long after you turn the final page.

KC Rating: 4🍁 /🌶

This was a great read, and I enjoyed it, though I did have some issues with some plot developments hence I couldn't give it full 5 leaves.

Get ready to be traumatised! And I mean it, even if most of the traumatising happens off-page, the effect can be felt throughout each page.

This book is a definition of the second chance romance and that's where I had a bit of an issue. I. wanted a bit more angst, even if it was full of it. And let's be honest hate s*x is the best, and I was hoping there would have been more of it, but we get it only once. But trust me the scene was so worth it!

Now the book is more plot than spice, and it was a great mix because the author's writing is more evident this way. I felt that the end lacked a bit,

Overall it was a great read, I laughed, enjoyed the drama and the angst, and devoured the spicy scenes like they were means for survival. Now, not sure about everyone else, but once you read the book. (It's coming out on 18 November), we should start a petition to get a side story or full-length novella featuring grown-up Will! I loved that bundle of joy and would love to see how he grew up!

XOXO

Katie

‘Striking Antihero”

I love to love a morally grey antihero! And Killian O’Connor just landed his hot mess self on my list. This character leaves a lasting impression on everyone he’s come in contact with, including the reader. He is so well developed. We learn the kind of person he is, not just through his own narrative, but from the narrative and reactions of others who know him. He is such a dichotomy: dangerous yet delicate, savage yet polished, powerful with weaknesses. Why I am going on about a single character? Because Killian O’Connor aka Killjoy 100% carries this aptly named book.
The manipulative rich businessman is looking for a new personal assistant and a blast from his past applies for the job. The last ten years have been rough for Callie De la Cruz, now she’s back in Killian’s clutches, guarding a big secret.
The story is told in the present and flashes of the past, when Killian and Callie were teenagers. Callie gets caught in the middle when Killian’s tortured past catches up with him. Chapter 29 is just GAHHHH! The climax is explosive and Killian O’Connor at his devilish best. It’s such a hot scene and one of my favorites!
The romance between Callie and Killian is bumpy, rugged, fiery and, at times, completely untamed! There is a great cast of supporting alphaholes who will surely have their own books. There are some circumstances and events that I would’ve liked to have seen fleshed out, but overall Killjoy, my first Ash Hosking book was a satisfying, darktastic, and worthy read.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Read if you’re down with:
*Antihero
*OTT Protector
*Dark Romance
*Alphahole
*Suspense
*Tortured Pasts

This is the first in a new series, and this is Killian and Callie’s story. Killian has a past which tortures him, and this story flits between the past and the present to give a better understanding if the storyline. This is a well written story which is dark, raw, gritty, and is an emotional roller coaster, with secrets, twists, angst, trauma, suspense, romance, humor, 2nd chances, and love, which leads to a riveting and addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Book one of a new series that starts us on a journey with a group of friends that are sure to entertain us. Their names alone make us eager to know their stories. This is Killian AKA Killjoy and Callie’s story.
There are times Kill makes you want throat punch him. As you learn more about him, he wins you over. Seeing him awkwardly adjust to Callie and their situation is worth the read.
Callie is strong, independent and full of secrets. She holds her own against Killian and takes him on a ride.
Emotional, fun and sexy read.

Killjoy by Ash Hosking is the First book in The Big Shot Savages Series. This is the story of Killian and Callie. Callie and Killian knew each other before and it was Killian that drove Callie away from him. This book takes us back and forth through the past as we start to learn what has made Killian so hard and seemingly unfeeling. This is their second chance when Killian and Callie meet again. This time Killian is stopping and Callie is the one with secrets. Enjoyed this dark read and I hope to read more from this author.

I loved Callie and Killian's story. This book also made me laugh so much. This is the definition of one twisted, second chance romance. I loved this story from start to finish even though he was a bit of a jerk. I found humor in how strong Callie was and her reactions to his demands. Great read and I'm ready for the rest of these guys!!

This book took me on the craziest ride ever! I’ve never been on such an emotional roller coaster while reading a book and I loved it. It was like BOOM plot twist, BOOM spice, BOOM emotional gut punch, BOOM plot twist again. Killian is the villain of the story who you can’t help but fall in love with and Callie is the one who is determined to fix the beautiful, broken boy. I absolutely loved it. Thank you Ash Hosking and Give Me Books for an Arc.

This book is written in a way it’s difficult to actually get into the story. The writing seems like your reading a romance novel from the 1800’s with the words and sentences being use which in no way favor the story.

I’m having a difficult time finishing the book. One very critical point is missing and that is connection between the characters they just don’t seem like a couple anyone would believe there is love or affection more like acquaintances.

I just couldn’t even finish it without skipping through it… I’m sorry I don’t mean to upset anyone because then everyone comes and attacks me when I write an honest review.. This book had so much potential unfortunately it just didn’t connect and the characters had zero and I mean zero chemistry it was like reading a person speaking out of boredom..

This was a no for me bad bad writing..
