This one was a giant miss for me. I am very blessed to have a phenomenal bariatric office that provided me with a great notebook full of resources while I was going through my bariatric journey which included lots and lots of recipes. What it lacked was a cookbook with delicious, appetizing photos to go along with the recipes to help me choose things to cook when I was having a block. I ordered this book from the library so I did not realize it would not have photos to accompany the recipes. Part of the fun of cooking is going through the cookbooks, looking at the pictures and visually seeing what will look great. Skipping that part of the process is just a deflating as having to get used to using sugar substitute. I would much rather look at a full flavor, full sugar, not good for me cookbook with pictures that is fun and exciting and use my own knowledge and education from my bariatric classes to modify the recipes that look through a bariatric friendly cookbook that is boring. End rant.
This book was amazing. Short, simple, and to the point with excellent yet reasonable recipes for the everyday household. A definite recommended read for the bariatric community.
A must have for bariatric patients. Clear information and easy to use. Great for daily and weekly reference to meals, plans and general what to do. Of course follow your program direction. This is a good bariatric book.
As a recent gastric sleeve patient, I found this cookbook full of easy to make low carb recipes. A lot of bariatric cookbooks have more carbs than we are allowed.
