I love this book. For a basic introduction to some ancient writings and traditions related to Christian Scriptures and LDS beliefs. Not only does he talk about the Dead Sea Scrolls but also the Nag Hammadi texts, Pseudepigraphic documents, the tablets found at Tell-Mardikah-Ebla, a stone box found at Persepolis containing silver and gold plates with writing on them (and other writings on metal plates), the graffiti in the cave at Khirbet Beit Lei(Lehi?), Ancient American discoveries and a few more things. This is a good jumping off point for studying about these discoveries and their meaning. It's a rather short book, only 144 pages including Bibliography and pictures so it only gives a brief description of these finds.
This is a fantastic beginner's guide to the Dead Sea Scrolls, to other scrolls that have been discovered, and to the link between Christianity and the Olmecs, Mayans, and Toltecs. He also helps to clarify what in the Mayan culture parallels the Book of Mormon.
A good introduction to the Dead Sea Scrolls as well important historical figures among the Aztecs, Mayans and Incas. I enjoyed it, however the writing is a bit dated and it reads like a history book... a lot of facts and source citings.
What a freak! Bad science and bad interpretation of the available texts. I’m embarrassed to say that I share the author’s religion, because I think that he made most of this crap up.
