Almost every book about teaching proclaims that it will help students from kindergarten through senior year of high school. Nearly everyone falls short. Not so with Teacher Smart!: 125 Tested Techniques for Classroom Management and Control by George Watson; it really is full of wonderful ideas for class-room management for all ages!

Despite its title, Teacher Smart!: 125 Tested Techniques for Classroom Management and Control contains a lot more than just classroom-management ideas -- even though those are pretty good. There are great ideas for test reviews, parent-teacher conferences, communicating with parents, encouraging reading, helping students with organization, staff development -- even for introducing research papers! Teacher Smart! boasts a wonderful number of handouts and graphic organizers that you can photocopy right out of the book, too; no need to reinvent wheels, thanks to George Watson. This book is a godsend!

In addition, it's a very easy read. I polished it off in less than three hours -- even with highlighting and annotating. Any teacher -- but especially teachers who are new to the classroom -- can't be without a personal copy of this tome. I especially recommend the spiral-bound edition to facilitate photocopying.
