Margot Anand is a French author, teacher, seminar leader and public speaker. She has written numerous books including The Art of Sexual Ecstasy; The Art of Everyday Ecstasy; and The Art of Sexual Magic.
Margot (or "Margo") Anand (Sanskrit "Ananda"=Bliss) received her degree from the Sorbonne in Paris. She began her writing career as a journalist covering the American pop culture scene for French magazines, after which she retreated from public life for an extended period to study Tantra and related disciplines. Having visited the Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh ashram in Pune in the late 1970s and begun to teach tantra there, she subsequently became notable as one of the first teachers to introduce Tantra and Neotantra to a broad public in Europe and America, and has been the subject of numerous articles and interviews. She designed a practice called "SkyDancing Tantra" that is promoted as a tantric practice. Institutes teaching her methods exist in England, France, Switzerland, Germany, The Netherlands, Sweden, Canada and the United States.

Good ideas and tips for making your everyday life ecstatic (blissful joy etc) and tips to incorporate meditation in to the everyday things you do. Think Zen or (apparently, since I haven't bothered reading it) Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle [I tend to treat anything hyped up and promoted by Oprah Winfrey as suspect, Dr Phil McGraw (not a real doctor by the way), and Deepak Chopra spring to mind) plus shying away from reading big bestsellers has been advantageous since it's a waste of time to read what everyone else has, and you can just ask them. Bestsellers aren't really good quality, they're just well marketed and usually rehashed old stuff that didn't really get attention years prior or the timing wasn't right. You see this repeated ad nauseum with self help books especially].

The anecdote (around page 100) about classical Indian singers in India claiming that just 10 minutes of singing in the morning cleanses the blood. What?! What does that even mean? Is it good for the kidneys? Have they not heard of kidneys? How would they test this?

Anyhow, if your life is a mess and you haven't heard of duality of the feminine and masculine parts of ourselves then get this. If you're after Tantric rituals then this isn't the one, read Margot Anand's other books.

This book has some really interesting ideas about meditation being an all-the-time thing. Where we can take a thought, idea or mostly (for me) a powerful prayer and "walk with it" in a meditative way. Until reading this book I had thought that meditation was a quiet, dark and very isolated event that only happened once or twice a week at best. Margot shares some great stuff about moving meditations and the bliss that goes with that into your day and shared with the people of your day. Quite and interesting read -- probably not for everyone, but perfect for some.

One of the greatest books that I have ever read, I started down a spiritual cleansing and awakening a few years ago, and have been looking into more information about spiritual awakening and related topics such as energy, focus, and chakras. This book goes into detail about Chakras, what they do and how to improve them daily. I could reread this book on a regular basis to ensure that I am mindfully practicing self improvement. I strongly recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

Exactly what I needed and was asking for

I have been on a spiritual journey well all my life but especially the last few years after some difficult times and lessons. I knew I was awakening but I needed a joyful and balanced and more feminine way that encouraged freedom and ecstasy over control and “killing ego” most of this book felt like divine messages for me to download. I am still very much processing them though. I expect this to be a book I come back to and refer to. Thank you from my deepest part of my heart and soul and all of my more healed and balanced chakras. I know I still have much work to do.

It's well written. I'm not the intended audience for this book. It's meant for women.

Chapter 4 is most helpful. It's about affirming and welcoming the body as a source of messages from the soul, and has a host of practical suggestions to create that welcoming space for the body.

The ritual chapters seem like a lot of work by the male partner to make the female partner feel special.

The final seven chapters concern me chakras. I recommend instead Joe Dispenza's famous Blessing of the energy centres" as far faster and simpler.

It's not bad. It just wasn't a book for me.

lovely little rituals that anyone can use to become closer to inner peace and happiness. i loved this and was constantly highlighting.

“You are the lover and the beloved meeting within your heart.”

“Life is nothing but a long, eternal process of creating more beauty, more truth… of creating higher states of consciousness, and finally creating a god in your own being.”

“I have seen many storms, relationships, heartaches, heartbreaks, laughter, and joy. And I still don’t know how deep I can be.”

I loved. SO informative and so many times I felt like the book was specifically telling me how to fix everything in my life. also note, I skipped some really cringey sections. No offense to this queen author.

Didn't like. Found the chakra information to be overlapping and inaccurate. Nothing of interest from this book.

This book is beautifully written. It shows so much about spirituality, sexuality and the chakras. It is an expression of working on ourselves to be stronger. The book goes through each chakra and lets you know if you are not balanced in certain areas. It is a good way to work through some issues and find a way to heal. I enjoyed reading this book many times and always found something new.

Margo Anand had some wonderful moments, as well as exercises, but the energy level wasn't high enough to keep me enthralled. After a few chapters, I put it down and forgot to pick it back up.

I really liked the message from this book. If only I had time to actually try all the exercises! I'm inspired to learn more about chakra work. May revisit this one again someday.
