The explosive sequel to the dystopian thriller, INCH.
Osher Ashguard and Teller Ibsen wake to find themselves surrounded by rubble in the Commissioner’s office. Outside, teams of military personnel brutally execute Haven citizens. As they contemplate their next move, a soldier spots them and begins his pursuit. Fortunately, they are rescued by Haven guards Pilton and Wecker. To live, they must escape the city before they are hunted down like the others.
T he soldier on their tail has an ulterior motive. Sergeant Ace Gatlin is on a special mission, to not only rescue Ashguard and Ibsen from Haven, but to tell them of their true purpose. However, not everyone is on board with letting the citizens escape, and Master Sergeant Reece Baine is determined to follow orders and ensure the executions are enacted.
But time is running out. At dawn, everything they know will be vaporized from existence. To survive, Ashguard and Ibsen will need to place their trust in someone who carries their own dark secrets.
Not everyone is who they seem. The world isn’t what you think. The truth could save you, but first, you have to stay alive.
The first book in the series left a lot of unanswered queries. I am not sure that this book actually fills in the gaps. Nevertheless it was a pulsating read of those fleeing, those chasing, those defending some, and those salvaging their experiment at all cost.
At times it is hard to follow who is actually trying to kill who or protect the military research doctors. Hence the 4 stars - some editing/clarity of plot would make the good story better.
I decided to just go with the story and see who came out alive and what world they would be in.
It was an exciting read but at times very violent. Some queries of loyalty, friendship and love rear their head - but bottom line those that survive are the ones that never give up.
Although this ends the series I think there is room for an aftermath book…..
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
A lot of the backstory to "INCH: The Truth Could Kill You" is revealed in this second book of the series. Not all is revealed because clearly there is more to what's going on than what has happened so far. By the end of "MORS", there are new questions the reader will want answered. With the memory wiping/replacement, even the characters are not sure what's going on and who's on what side. "MORS" is a great continuation of the story started in "INCH", and it has me anxious to start the next book in the series.
I’m a big fan of Kenneth James Allen and his twisted mind. It’s refreshing to read his books because you never know what to expect or where the story will lead, but you always end up right where you should. MORS is no different— a great sequel in this new series. I’m already looking forward to the next one and, thankfully, he never keep his readers waiting too long.
