Hi, my name is Lila, and I’m an alien. I have two husbands and two fiancés. I also won two more mates in a kickass battle for supremacy, and I may have been seduced and had a crazy, sexy swim with a merman when he sang to me. Oh, and did I mention I have just hatched three beautiful but slippery kraken babies?
And that was just in the first month with the Galaxy Circus. That’s enough craziness for one lifetime, right?
Wrong!
I still have to go to a desert planet to find a special flower to save my grandpa, track down one of the last remaining mimics so I can get a handle on my powers, and stay out of the way of some shady organization that wants the orb we protect.
And we need to do all of that while still touring the galaxy and entertaining the masses. Nobody ever said life in the Galaxy Circus would be boring but some days I wish it was.
AHHH 5 STARS LEXIE WINSTON HAS DONE IT AGAIN. ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS SERIES. This series is such a great concept. A circus in space. What could possibly go wrong? It's so entertaining reading about all the drama Lila gets involved in. Its interesting to read how each relationship that Lila is involved in develops and we see another of that development in this book. The next book I bet will be VERY entertaining to read, especially how this book ended on a cliffhanger. You HAVE to give this series a try. Or any series by Lexie Winston for that matter.Super excited to see what happens next.
Can I just comment on how amazing this writing is? It is over the top creative while still maintaining a plausible (for the most part 🤣), good and compelling story line. It is just so good and if any of you know any books that even come close to comparing... I want recommendations, because I am going to be going through withdrawals while I wait for the next book to come out!
Recap: (no real spoilers) In this installment Lila leaves most everyone behind to go get the healing flower they need to save her grandpa. On the way, they try and improve her mimic abilities by expanding her forms and practicing with the ones she already has. (This was so creative and unique!) However, these abilities didn't really come into play in this book though, hopefully we'll see them more in the next ones. The book ends with them heading to the warlock's home world, but they encounter a very interesting bump in the road. Very excited to see what happens:)
So disappointed with the direction this book went. The FMC started, at a racing speed, to mate with as many men as possible. I couldn't stand the non-stop back-to-back sex scenes with zero actual storytelling.
Lexie Winston you’ve done it again, got me out of my book slump temporarily just to put me right back into it! There’s no way I’ll be able to move on to another book after reading Performer! This series has me in a chokehold and I’m honestly pretty sure it’s an addiction at this point. No need to worry tho, it’s an addiction I’ll happily have!
I’ve said it before but I’ll say it a thousand times more, if you haven’t read Galaxy Circus then you are missing out! The characters, the world building, the plot, every-fucking-thing is absolute PERFECTION and I will NEVER be ready for it to end. I don’t often say this but Galaxy Circus is one series I can see as a 20 book series. You know why?, because Lexie always throws something new at you. She’s created a world that’s so unique you will never find yourself getting bored!
This series is extraordinary and I find rereading it over and over while frothing at the mouth for more!
The 5th book in the Galaxy Circus series is an excellent addition to the storyline. I love how well Lila’s mates interact with each other. The way they all cherish their children is beautifully written. Lila solidified some mate bonds while discovering new things about herself. The journey to retrieve the flower to help heal her Grandpa John was an interesting quest. She learned important information that will be explored in future books. The end of the book was quite surprising. I really love this series. The author has crafted a complex universe with various species and customs. The storyline has kept me interested throughout the entire series and I am looking forward to more books in the future.
Waking up to this sitting in my kindle was the best feeling. It even trumped payday!
Some questions were answered in this book, and also, more answers were questioned. Also, a heads up , watch out for.... yup, you guessed it - the mother of all cliffhangers!
Read it in a day, and now I'm salivating for the next one . 5 stars Lexie !
In this installment of the galaxy circus saga we meet new characters and old! There is a lot more world building as well which was awesome. Lots of foreshadowing and hints were given in this book. There wasn't as much on page time with some of the original men in the group as other books but we got lots if on page time with some relatively new ones ! As we learned more about our girls abilities we also learned more about the world and those in it. It was well written and extremely enjoyable. 5 ⭐ so excited for the next book.
This book was great. Multiple point of views, the story moves along quite quickly. The fmc is always bouncing from one place to another, she’s learning more about other species, and learning more about her own Mimic powers. She’s gonna get into trouble with one of those species, the guys flipped when they learned she mimic’s one they forbid her from. I do find she doesn’t think twice before making a decision that could affect her when she feels she’s in the right. Like she did with her “can of tuna”, that just turned up to make her life even more complicated. I feel this is a downside to her character because she doesn’t think how it affects others lives in a way that could kill them. She’s ignorant in that way. She sticks her head in the sand, and wants to push away those hard emotions. Not to mention, her own Mates who knew about the “mating” didn’t say anything either. Which makes it worse. Frig, her “can of tuna” could very well be on his death because he needs her to survive now. She’s been impassive over learning about the different species and this may have been a turning point where she realizes she needs to do better. I hope they all realize that she was only part to blame, she really didn’t know about they were mates, but she did see the mating scar. Additionally, she felt something different in her climax with him because it wasn’t just a normal pair doing it fish style, they mating was a life long commitment. My heart still aches for Nikos. I can completely understand why a race would go to batt for him. Their races Crown Prince, a rejected mate. Please Lexie, please bring Nikos into the fold of her harem. Despite his ridiculous flirting, he would bring more laughter their lives and with all the seriousness going on, they need someone to balance it out.
Only thing I would recommend changing, put the Galaxy Glossary at the front instead of the back. I’ve read the entire book already and if I didn’t understand what something was, I wouldn’t have known to check the end of the book to find out a better description of the character. Also, I feel like the door she was attracted too back in that prison held some important people to her. I was waiting for more of a mention of it in this book, but maybe it was foreshadowing. Perhaps her parents aren’t dead at all? I also think I was wrong in my last review, I thought the water dragon might have been Tirrean. I now suspect it might be Brannock. I feel like he has a bigger stake than what was portrayed since no one knew who the water dragon was besides her own Kraken (who wouldn’t tell her). He’s mentioned so little in this book, but I think he’s another mate of hers. She is collecting powerful men from other races, it would only make sense that he would be from a powerful bloodline as well. I can’t wait to read what’s next.
For the first book, which reads like someone was writing for the first time in their lives; I was prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt. But it’s been 5 books and even with a team of readers or professional editing or whatever—it still reads like an inexperienced teenager is writing the book. There are too many issues being introduced before older ones get resolution. This means that by series end, everything is going to be miraculously solved super quick with little detail and everyone is going to be unsatisfied and furious. Note to the author: Not every book needs a cliffhanger. It’s not actually funny-it just shows your inability to properly end a book that isn’t a last book in the series. So I guess you can “rofl” at your readers expense (again, note the self-centered immaturity that communicates); or you could, I don’t know…learn from your previous books and be better?
Kind of Spoilery: I want to like the series. There are some elements to the story that are engaging. But it isn’t getting better, it’s just stagnating. And because there is such a huge imbalance of plot to resolution, the end result is going to be an incredibly rushed and cramped finale (unless your plan is 5-6 more books—which would be unnecessary if you could just wrap up more than one issue per book, ugh.) The next book needs to deal with at the very least the mermaids, warlocks, grandma, and the reluctant lizards. You’ve also got the cat babies, the parents that are probably in Area 51, the orb (which I’m assuming is the finale), and the rest of her conga line of dudes and babies. Then there’s the awful aunt, Dylan (since he didn’t die I have to assume he’s going to turn up again), the sad alien wandering around, her weird water dragon, and so.many.other.problems.and foreshadowing. Again, mostly meh.
I've been hooked since the first book. I read all of them in less than a week. The only thing that bothers me is how weak the main character is but I have to remember that she is just a teenager if memory serves correctly. When I say weak I mean for someone who reads fantasy novels and imagines all the time, why is she acting like a lot of things aren't possible? Why is everything so overwhelming to her (even before she had the kids)? She is actually quite annoying at times especially because she keeps forgetting about certain men. The ending made me especially happy because I could not stop thinking about how wrong she did Nikos. You have an inner Kraken that knows what it is doing more than you. Doubt yourself but not your shifter who knows and senses more than you. I mean come on, that's like fantasy reader rule number one. Number two is expect the unexpected. Anyways, I hope she matures and grows pretty quickly soon because she is a bit insensitive, and she keeps waiting for people to come to her instead of going to right her wrongs. How does she not see that what she is doing to Nikos is exactly what Tirrian is doing to her? Ugh! But I'm too invested to stop even if I wanted to. Love this freaking world and the characters in it. Can't wait for her to recognize brannock too. Also, I'm wondering if the water dragon is Tirrian...
We are up to book 5 of The Galaxy Circus series and overall, it is one of the most entertaining series I have read in a long time. It's funny, action packed, steamy and above all else, the world building is amazing. Also the glossary in the back is super helpful at times too.
Where ever Lila goes, mayhem and chaos usually ensue. But she is stubborn, intelligent, sassy and down to earth and while she is a little scattered, let's face it, with what she is juggling in her life right now, I think she can be forgiven, she still gets the job done. Lila has never come across to me as having a hardened exterior. That said, she isn't a pushover either. But I did love that we got to see Lila struggle with her emotions at times, it made her come across as more relatable. OK, not that I can relate with the whole whychoose aspect of her life but hey, a girl can dream, right????
Did not see that ending coming. What's the deal with that? I am so excited for the next book because I need answers. Stat.x
I love the Galaxy Circus series, its always a highlight of my reads. I love the relationships and the story. I really am always surprised at the amount of work this series mus have been. Its such a great thought out world with lots and lots of details. I kind of whished to live there myself but allas I need to live through those books. I love that I can’t anticipate what happens next, which guys will get attraction marks and which will be mates and which attractions will fade. The spin on the pregnancy and kids is adorable. I love it so much I reread the books all the time when I‘m in a book slump. So safe to say i would totally recommend and been doing so since the first one 😍
So, if you love a good story with many twist and turns and a beautiful family you should totally start with this series and pick up the first book.
If you read the first books and you liked the story, the world and Lila you should totally pick this one up. We get more adventure and more different species. And more about the adorable little Kraken Babies 😂
Still My Favorite SCI-FI Series of All Time! I feel like I'm starting to sound like a broken record but I absolutely love this series and I desperately want someone to make it into a TV series. Still My Favorite SCI-FI Series of All Time! I feel like I'm starting to sound like a broken record but I absolutely love this series and I desperately want someone to make it into a TV series. Ms Winston did not in fact answer some the questions I had after Mama, but she did throw some amazing revelations and a nice little cliffy at me that left me wanting more. As always, the world building is exquisite and the spry development is “chef’s kiss” perfection. Yes it’s a romance and yes there are some deliciously spicy scenes, but it’s just so much more. Not enough stars for how much I’m loving these books. Can’t wait for the next book!!
Performer Absolutely loved this! We picked up where we left off with Lila and her lovely men. I love how this book focused more on her and the men helping her grandfather. The story still focused on her but her grandfather being sick was more of a background issue. But at the time was mentioned nothing could happen until they got where they needed to. She finally takes steps with her kitties!! I could not wait for this!!!! The cyborg though, I felt so bad for him just basically waiting his turn but at the same time it works. He’s always been a bit in the back, but I think when it finally comes it will be beyond hot!!! As for her other mates, maybe I am just a jerk but KICK THEM TO THE CURB and start fresh lol. I can’t wait to see how things move along in the next book. That ending!!! Was not expecting that.
4.5 Stars! I absolutely FLOVED this series - it has so many of my favourite tropes/micro tropes; paranormal/sci-fi, RH, fantastic world building, various aliens/creatures, loads of 'different' spice and the humour!! This is very fast paced, action packed and an absolute page turner. I had trouble putting down these books, I was addicted within a couple of chapters and could not stop reading. I burned through the five books currently available in a matter of days and I am eagerly awaiting book 6. This series is so different to anything else I've read with a circus (in space!), aliens some of which have some very paranormal characteristics, various MCs covering different races, personalities and peens! Then the storyline is completely original and totally captures your imagination. LOVED it.
I finished the first fours books in the series - as well as the novella - in the space of three days of only a week before this was released and god was I chomping at the bit to get hold of this book!
I am so addicted to this series and this book was just as good as the previous ones. I may or may not have devoured this in one sitting in the space of a few hours.
I love Lila’s character and her bonding group is just adorable. I love them all!! It was great to see some progression relationship wise and some potential editions to her group. Gimme all the monster mates!
I am so invested in the story and I only wish I had the next in the series like right the hell now!!
Performer This one book gave me so much more of everything that I love about Lila and her mates.
Lila is finally feeling like she is gaining more control and confidence with her Mimic abilities. She goes on a journey with one of her mates and a few men that she is interested in…and she…NoPe…I can’t tell you…but after she does that…she finds OUT…NoPe can’t tell you that either…but then she finally bonds with…SMH…can’t spoil it for you….but when she gets to where they are going she gets her very own…
Sigh…YOU Need to download this book and RUN! RUN from adulting and find a comfy place to read and immerse yourself in the amazing world of Galaxy Circus!! I’m running back and starting my re-read now!!!
I have adored this series from the moment I read Apprentice and it just keeps getting better and better. This series is one that I love to reread if I'm in a book slump, or just want something fun & it makes me happy to read. The world building and characters are phenomenal. And with this latest gem, we get more aliens, more alien civilizations, more mysteries, more bonds (read to find out what kind, for who, & how many), and of course more of our new additions, the baby kraken triplets. It ends with a cliffhanger I didn't see coming but gives a nod towards a character who I had been wondering what happened with them. Can't wait to see what happens next!
Fuckkkk… FIVE FUCKING STARS! What better way to celebrate my birthday than with a Galaxy Circus book release?! There was definitely frothing at the mouth, for sure! Anything and everything I wanted to happen in this book came to life on the pages and I was so beyond happy to dive right back in where I left off. Lexie never fails to produce great characters and epic world building that keeps you turning the page, expecting and anticipating for more, and with that huge cliffhanger at the end, I find myself back in my reading slump hibernating until the next book comes. If you haven’t started this series yet, I highly recommend you join this circus.
The mark of a good book or series for me is enjoying it with every reread. It's not possible with every book because sometimes the enjoyment is in the suspense and the knowing can dim that. This series however is great on every read through. Love the characters and the tension is just right for me that it doesn't mess with my anxiety, lol. That fluffy though! Ugh. The author loves doing it and in this instance I kinda love her doing it dang it. As much as I can't wait to have the whole series I really don't want it to end either. Impatiently waiting for the next cliffhanger!
This story just gets more bizarre as it goes, adding problems without solving any of the previous ones, just really bothered me. No progression to resolving the story. At the point she gets a penis, I’m like nope, just to much to handle let alone an author who “seems” to be writing this while on drugs, cause I’m baffled by the way the story progresses to this weird stage it is. I regret reading this series now.
At my age (62), life is way too short & my time is too important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.
Book 5 in the Galaxy Circus series is as always... hilarious. Lexie Winston is so good at building and explaining polycules. Some of my favourite moments and things about this series is the relationship building and the laissez-faire approach to love, sex, family, long term commitment, monogamy, community and communication. This book picks up shortly after Mama and the group are learning about parenthood and sharing domestic burdens. They are all still committed to their original mission of Saving Grandpa John, finding Grandma Lili and bringing down the bad guys. It was fun to meet Oshan and the Zamala and I hope they're in the next book too. Lexie Winston kills me with her cliffhangers and she's completely unapologetic about them, but it makes the Galaxy Circus one of my favourite series and the cliffhangers make it impossible for me to not keep coming back for more.
Once again, galaxy circus takes us on an unpredictable crazy ride. Each book builds world full of inventive creatures. Each book dives further into secondary characters that become more central to the plot while still keeping other relaxant not loosing focus on any one character. It’s quite a large cast so to speak but each one is memorable. Chalked full of details we met endless new species. And there’s the sensation we are in the journey with Lila, as she is also learning and experiencing a new world that constantly shifting below her feet. It’s the perfect escape from reality for any open minded reader.
Every time I read a book in this series - I say it’s my favorite. And then Lexie releases the next book and proves me wrong. If you have come this far, you are already know this series is amazing ❤️
We pick right up after Lila had the babies and I love how each of her Partners jumps in to coparent. Lila adds more mates🔥🔥, helps cure her Grandfather, begins to understand more details around a family mystery, and has more “attraction marks” show up.
It does end in a cliffhanger but I know Lexie will do us a solid and write the next book that will become my “new favorite” in the series 🛸
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Another great one from Lexie Winston. She continues to be one of my fave authors.
This series is such a great and unique concept - a circus in space. From book one, Lila is dropped head first into so much drama and intrigue, and that doesn't change all the way in book 5. I love all of her different relationships and was interested to read that her group may be growing even more!
This book ended on a major cliffhanger and I can't wait for the next book to come out. Definitely give this series a try!
Loved how the story progressed and after that cliffy I’m trying to imagine what could happen next 🙆🏻♀️
The same storyline but totally different surroundings. That’s what made me love Performer even more!
Deserts, close proximity to men who are not so willing to become yours, adventures and maaaybe some answers about that mysterious sea dragon 🐉
Also cute cute kids, hardships of parenting and the reality of having multiple mates. I mean, go and try to juggle it all! 🤪 And to think for a sec that it’s not the end in both departments.. 😏
This is one of my favorite series and I really hope it has a few more books to go…hint hint Lexie lol. seriously tho galaxy circus is the only alien romance that I like. I love that it’s multiple pov that is a must for me if it’s not I feel like I’m missing a chunk of the story. I enjoy the storyline the galaxy is the limit there, you can do or go anywhere. That cliffy tho… girl I can’t wait to see what happens next…is Nikko being a booger or is something else going on?
I get that nothing is ever easy for Lila and her family but there is enough on their plate for at least 2 more books. The end felt a bit like the author is trying to stretch it out even more and I’m just not a fan of that. But other than the ending it was another good book about Lila and the alien circus. The one thing that hasn’t been resolved and could lead to a 3rd book is what was pulling at Lila at the detention center. That I would definitely like to know more about. What I thought it was, is on a different planet.
This book was phenomenal! I loved seeing things come together and how her men have grown so much, especially with the babies. There is so much action, suspense, intrigue and a lot of moments of having you on the edge of your seat. I could not put this book down, and I almost ruined my phone due to the ending! But I would not have it any other way because it is a perfect set up for the next book coming in the series and I can't wait for it! Highly recommend this entire series.
