There are two things I can’t have: an MC patch and him.
Killian’s my godparent and the vice president of my father’s ruthless motorcycle club. He is everything I know I shouldn’t want. Then everything changed. I crave spilling the blood of our enemy, and Killian has become my salvation, providing shelter from the onslaught of my mind. Two things stay the I still shouldn’t want him and women don’t wear patches.
It’s time to blow some shit up.
This is book one in an interconnected standalone world. It does not end on a cliffhanger.
3.5 ⭐️ I'll be honest I love Allie books. This one was a little hard for me. For a few reasons, one was Killian being in her life from the age she was bornI know nothing happened, but she started crushing on him at age 15. I'm not 100 percent sure if he changed her diapers, the dad made a comment, but idk if it's true? But on with the review.
Killian lives the MC life, there his brothers and that's all he knows from his fudge up life they are family and that's how he becomes godfather to Ahryan he's best friends with her father and her mother. He didn't wanna be godfather because he's fudged up and knows he'll taint her, but he tries his best to be her hero, her protector. We see different ages of their lives and the way the club, aka her grandfather, treated Ahryan, who, at a young age, wanted to be patched in. That was her goal. Once we get to the teen years, we see Ahryan still wanting to be patched in knowing maybe a few would accept her. But something horrible happened to her and the club, and I was shocked that it did.
And once she's back at the club she wants to patch in which is super rare in biker books because your a old lady or a sweet butt to bikers and I'll be honest she did patch in easy due to her father being prez. Killian even voted for her not to patch in he didn't want this life for her. So it was rocky between them for that and for the feelings starting between them. We see a lot of the biker life. Ahryan is a patch member, which I felt she got it easy since she was her fathers daughter she wasn't treated badly. And now they have to deal with them men who kidnapped her and maybe a snake in the family. Idk if I connected with any side characters to wanna read another book in this series. Maybe?! But hopefully, we don't get another seen with a Main getting a BJ and thinking of the heroine.

Forbidden Firefly is the first book in the Kings of Rapture and a standalone in an interconnected universe.
Okay, WHAT?!?!?!? 🥵🥵🥵 I am new to Allie's books and wasn't sure what to expect, but Killian is 💯 Daddy....or Goddaddy. I didn't really connect with Ahryn very much, I found her a bit immature. Buuuut, when they finally are together, it's completely intoxicating and incredibly fascinating. Although, most of the story consists of the MC, their rivals, that makes this story very engrossing. The worldbuilding, plot, characters were fantastic and definitely would love to read more of this series!!!
If you love: *MC *Rival Gangs *Slow burn *Age gap *Forbidden/Taboo (godfather/goddaughter) romance
Overall, I enjoyed this book. However, a few things bothered me so I couldn’t give it 5 stars… :/
• The only book triggers I have are cheating, sharing (no RH for me haha), or OW drama. I made sure to check the trigger warnings before I started the book and the author stated there was no cheating (there wasn’t, technically) and no mention of OW. The mmc engaged in oral with a woman that wasn’t the fmc and I wasn’t expecting that so it really bothered me when I got to that part of the book… Maybe update the TW to say “no cheating between the main characters AFTER they make it *official*” ??
• This is probably an ignorant opinion on my part, but I’m used to characters in motorcycle club romances to speak a certain way. The author seemed to have an aversion to using contractions and it made the characters sound way too prim and proper.
• The spicy scenes were sometimes a little cringe, ie: the author described everything as being said in a “rasp”. That word came up on every other page it seemed.
• There was a particular spicy scene where the fmc had the mmc’s shirt stuffed in her mouth and all of a sudden they were kissing with tongue but on the next page the shirt was back in her mouth magically??
This was such a great standalone book.. There was so much that happened, but kept you intrigued. I absolutely adore the MC forbidden age - gap that was in this book too. Cue the *swooning* This is my 1st time reading any of Allie's books & it did not disappoint. It kept my attention throughout the whole book & threw those curve balls to keep you on your toes.
I have no words. Well I have many but I don’t feel any will do this book the right justice it deserves.
With this book the first and foremost thing that stands out for me is the plot, it’s heavy without being suffocating and the balance between smut and plot is chefs Kiss perfection!
Ahryn is the Prez daughter, she’s off limits and whilst her head knows it, her heart and body are in denial when it comes to her godfather Killian. The Chemistry between the two is undeniable and let me tell you, Ahryn is everything you want and more in a strong and feisty FMC , who sees what she wants and takes it. And she takes it like a good girl.
I don’t want to give away any of the story but this book was full of plot twists, it gave me a rollercoaster of emotions and yes, it made me ugly cry.
Fantastic, Awesome, Epic describes this book. It’s a little dark with a lot of chaos, secrets & destruction but a damn good read. I absolutely loved Killian (Malice) and Ahryn’s (Firefly) story ❤️❤️❤️ Ahryn is a total badass that wants to be accepted into a man’s world. She secretly has feelings for Killian, her godfather, her Dad’s best friend. When Killian realises he’s feelings are changing, crossing a forbidden line, he tries to ignore them but it’s just to powerful. Together they fight for their love, together they go to war. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have to be honest, this book didn't really impress me. The writing was subpar and lacked actual dialogue between the main characters. Instead, there were many monologues between prose and plain writing, which led to the book missing emotional depth and genuine character growth. The whole book was focused on telling rather than showing. The same applies to the spice; it was mediocre, and the sexual tension between the main characters was missing. The suspense factor was okay, but again, it was more telling than showing, and the buildup to certain events was often missing. My main issue is the forbidden/taboo part. The inner turmoil of the mmc was way too superficial and the solution way too convenient for a taboo relationship between godfather and goddaughter.
Killian at seventeen becomes a member of The Kings of Rapture motorcycle club. His best friend Bane is the VP and his wife Janice are his family. Janice is pregnant and has Ahryn and they make Killian the godfather and he calls her his little firefly. Ahryn grows up in the club fixing bikes and being protected. She has a crush on Killian. They have a war going on with the Wraths and while out the wraths attack the compound and kill Banes wife Janice and take Ahryn. They get her back a month later beaten badly. The feeling between Killian and Ahryn feelings grow even thought there is an eighteen year gap. They tried to fight it but can’t so it’s a secret. The war with the Wraths is getting intense. Can they win this fight when the Wraths seem one step ahead ? Can Killian and Ahryn be together? Great characters and Storyline Highly Recommended Amazing book. Love Killian and Ahryn. Amazing supporting characters. This is my first book by this author definitely not my last. I couldn’t put this book down.
All things considered, I did enjoy this book. The spicy scenes were really good.
I struggled with the dialogue. It's weird how the lack of contractions ("I am" instead of I'm, or you will instead of "you'll") really changes what is being said. It feels so proper and it rubbed me really wrong. This was an issue for me through the entire book. I just can't get behind a bunch of bikers speaking so proper.
There weren't a lot of character descriptions, so I really just read this story envisioning the Sons of Anarchy cast. Ultimately, that's what this really felt like - Sons of Anarchy fanfiction. That's not a bad thing, but there were some interesting similarities.
I felt the constant mention of "goddaughter" and "godfather" was incredibly excessive. I know the author is trying to keep reminding us that the dynamic existed, but it felt over the top.
'I don't respect many things in life. I'm anarchy, and I crave the darkness within these walls.'
When I tell you /this/ book left me mind-blown, I'm not exaggerating. It even has a playlist! To me, that makes a story all the more special.
And before I dive further into my review, here's a list of things to expect. (No, those won't be spoilers, the author herself disclosed them.) This is a dark MC - on the taboo side romance, so, viewer discretion is advised, check your warnings on the page, your mental health matters.
I honestly considered recording myself while I was reading, so, then I could share my emotions because I had a little cry, a bit of a laugh, and a whole lot of anticipation and tension.
Killian is in a perpetual state of 'right or wrong', the fact what /he/ wanted, what he felt, standing against a promise to his best friend, his Prez. I enjoy a good slow burn, so, without giving much away, keep in mind, our Ahryn is going through a rough road, she's coming to terms with how misogynistic clubs continue to be, even in this day & age, along with feelings she's harboured towards her godfather.
As someone familiar with this particular world, outside of fiction, and a huge fan of Sons of Anarchy, it is the closest I've come to finding something of similarity, that grips me.
Which the author Allie Stern does magnificently. She had me; and all I want to say is, when is book two coming out? Because I need it in my life.
Thank you for letting me arc read for you, it was a thrilling journey.
I did hope for a little more spice because DADDY KILLIAN is IYKYK. AND NO, I did not see /those twists coming./ I had a different theory.
So, if people go into it, expecting some heavy smut scenes, please don't overlook the incredible storyline. It's realistic, and mindless banging for the sake of smut? Is redundant.
4,5⭐️ 2,5🌶️
PS A first-time read from this Author, and now I'm definitely going to add their backlist to my tbr.
OMG! This was one hell of an intense, thrilling and emotional rollercoaster ride that had me on the edge of my seat with my heart ready to burst out of my chest. The things that were transpiring right before my eyes had my jaw dropping and my head spinning. It was dark, suspenseful, violent, bloody, depraved, twisted and so damn sexy that I never wanted it to end.
Killian is a fierce, protective and strong man and a member of the infamous Rapture MC. He’s also a wonderful godfather and protector to Ahryn. He looks out for her and teaches her how to do many things that will help her living in an MC world. He will do anything and everything to protect her from harm even from his own MC members.
Ahryn is a fierce warrior goddess. Growing up in the MC has made her stronger than most women. But one unfortunate event with Ahryn starts a domino effect that no one saw coming. The unbelievable and traumatic experience she was put through changed her, made her stronger, fiercer and wanting more than anything to be a member of the MC.
As Ahryn grows the bond between her and Killian changes to something more than either of them expected. Ahryn should be off limits to Killian but there is just something continually pulling them together and filling them with so much lust and desire for each other. Their chemistry was palpable and just oozed off the pages. It was intense, explosive and HOT!
This story was well written and filled with so much emotional turmoil, heartache, passion and love that I fell deeply for these incredible characters. Also the amount of shocking twists and turns that this story takes had my mind blown because I really had no clue that’s how things were going to turn out.
I absolutely loved it and can’t wait for more from this amazing MC world.
This was an action-packed book with a lot of suspense, twists, and spice!
Killian joined the Kings of Rapture Motorcycle Club as a teenager, escaping from his family. He was taken in by Bane and his wife, Janice. They become family and when Janice got pregnant, they made Killian the godfather of their daughter, Ahryn. She grew up with Killian always there to take care of her and protect her.
Fast forward to present day, and Ahryn is an adult now. She wants to join the MC, but of course, she’s a woman. Ahryn does not back down when the men try to keep her out the Rapture MC. She’s so tough and she knows what she wants and refuses to let anyone stop her. Also, having grown up with Killian always there, she realizes she has a crush on him. But, of course, it’s not something her father would approve of being that Killian is her godfather and 18 years older than her.
Killian is brutal and extremely protective and loyal. He fights his feelings for Ahryn, knowing he’ll upset Bane if he acts on them. He loves Rapture and doesn’t want to lose his place amongst them. When it comes down to it though, Ahryn is who he’s most concerned about, keeping her safe and happy.
Ahryn has to deal with all the misogyny against her from her own family’s MC as well as the fact that her life is constantly in danger. The rival MC, the Wraths, are on a warpath and Ahryn’s father (Bane) is the president of Rapture, so she’s seen as the key to hurt him. But that’s not all! There are some big twists at the end that are very shocking.
If you like age gap romances with suspense, twists, and spice, then this is for you!
So before jumping in, I think it’s important to mention that there is a LIST of TW put in the front of this book. If you choose to ignore them, that’s your fault, but I strongly recommend taking the time to read them. The author is telling you what to expect!
This book was very different from the normal dark MC romance books I’ve read. It is broken into two parts. The first we are going to get back story. The first ten chapters focus on telling us who are MMC (Killian/Malice) is and moments of the FMC (Ahryn/Firefly) life growing up. Let me also mention here, this is not a grooming situation. Yes there is an age gap, and yes it is a godparent (all things mentioned in the blurb so not a spoiler). But things don’t go to that “that” level until well into Ahryn being an adult. That is why it is not a TW.
Now, Ahryn is a badass. She has grown up in the MC and all she wants is to officially be part of the family she loves so much. Her father was the VP when she’s born (Grandfather was Prez), now pops is the Prez. It’s her families legacy. The club raised her. But things aren’t always that simple. And then there is him. The current VP, and the man that truly did help raise her, her godparent. Killian. He’s rugged and sexy as sin. She never like the boys her age and he is just always there for her. Especially after events led to her nightmares. He has been there in the middle of the night to calm her, reassure her, bring her back.
Killian is VP of the Raptures. Bane (Prez) is his best friend and has been for more than 20 years. They have been through more than their fair share. But Killian has eyes. And after almost losing Ahryn, then the nightmares, he can’t help but admire her strength, and her curves. He’s a man after all. And those nights spent next to her just trying to bring her back from the panic attacks, he noticed. But she’s his Firefly. His light in this dark world. Her mother trusted him to look after Ahryn in the absence of her parents. And he has. Bane has been dealing with his own issues. Leaving no one but Killian there. But would he really have it any other way? Could he let someone else take HIS place.
There is a back and forth tug for the majority of this book. But then, it snaps. And ya’ll 🙌🏼🥵 I’m here for it. But this isn’t just age gap/hot MC romance. There are more secrets kept and club business unfolding. The author has so much going on, you won’t want to put this book down until you reach the conclusion.
Read the triggers! Please be comfortable with the content. Then enjoy! Happy Reading ya’ll
I have cried, laughed (were talking fully belly laughs here people!), and pined after these characters. Malice is everything you would want in a reassuring and caring man. He puts her comfortability over his own even neglecting his sleep. He not only is a super masculine MAN that can fuck someone up in an instant, but knows when to control it and lets Ahryn embrace her rage.
"My soul shatters and comes back together. Her name written on every single shard."
The back and forth between the two of them kept me on the edge of my seat and had me cackling. Ahryn is far from a damsel in distress, and Malice embraces it but struggles with the fact that he's supposed to be her protector.
Also, I'm so ready for ghost and shovelhead's book 😏. Hint hint, nudge nudge.
Received this book as an ARC. This was my first Allie Stern read and I absolutely loved it.
The FMC, Ahryn, was an absolute badass. After being kidnap by the rival crew, The Wraths and being tortured for a month, she returns to her crew ready for revenge. She works hard to get voted in as a prospect, being the first female to ever do so. Her character was incredibly well written and there's nothing I love more than a strong, curvy badass!
Killian is Ahryn's godfather. He is protective, possessive and loves the daddy kink🥵
Of course it wouldn't be a good book without a forbidden love story and a twist!
not really for me. i normally love this type of dark motorcycle club romance but this one just didnt hit super hard for me. it wasnt bad, and i still quite liked the charcaters but it wasnt everything i wanted.
Killian has always been Ahryn's protector, ever since she was born. But those protector feelings have shifted from guardian to lover, and it's not something her father would ever be okay with. Can he fight those feelings, even though she may have them as well, or will they burn together and give in?
I absolutely loved Killian's character. He's the alpha male, protector type and really goes out of his way to give Ahryn everything she needs without crossing the line. Then when they finally do cross it, it is SO WORTH IT. Their age gap gave the romance that little bit of forbidden spice that makes it even better.
I really didn't like Ahryn's character. She came off as very immature, whiney and just an overall annoyance the entire book. Plus this is a very slow burn romance, so it took a very long time to get to anything substantial in the steam department.
If you were a fan of Sons of Anarchy, you’ll appreciate this book. It was written really well. The one thing I kind of caught on to though was when the characters were speaking with one another, it made more sense to me for them to be speaking more with contractions. That’s it, my only note, and it’s not even that important.
The spice was spicing and the tension was tensioning. Seriously, I feel that tension in a book like this is so much more important than the spice. I want to feel their connection when they make eye contact in a room full of people, especially in a forbidden/taboo. It just makes the progression of the relationship so much more steamy. Killian is all gruff and gritty to most people but he’s a completely devoted boyfriend to his Firefly. And, the way he talked about her being his light in the darkness and being worried that her light being snuffed out would take his light away… 🥵
Ahryn has grown up in The Rapture MC her whole life. It’s all she’s known. Her family created the MC, and now her father is the president. It’s her right to take over by birth, only a woman can’t patch in. She’s bound and determined to prove her worth and show them how she can be an asset. Killian is Ahryn’s godfather, he’s always made it a point to protect and look out for her. She’s his Firefly. The MC comes before everything else, but she will always come first to him. He will do anything to protect her. She’s always had a crush on Killian, and now it doesn’t seem to be one-sided.
Read if you like: 📌 Taboo/Forbidden 📌 Age Gap (18 years) 📌 Motorcycle Gangs 📌 Devoted MMC 📌 Strong FMC
I got this as an ARC and it was also my first motorcycle club book. I wasn’t sure going into it but it took me by surprise and I absolutely loved it!
Ahryn the FMC is a total bad@$$. She doesn’t take 💩 from anyone, especially Killian. Killian is overprotective and willing to do anything to keep his goddaughter and club safe.
Godfather and goddaughter, forbidden love, age gap, and a huge plot twist at the end kept me wanting more the whole time. The burn was slow, but man is daddy Killian 🥵. Once him and Ahryn finally cut the sexual tension there was no going back. There were also so many funny moments that I laughed at. I loved that they were incorporated and it helped lighten the mood at some of the darker moments.
Overall I really liked it. It’s not a book I’ll forget anytime soon, and I’ll definitely be recommending to others. The writing is phenomenal and Allie does a great job of pulling you in and keeping you wanting more.
First off, READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS!!! There's lots there so don't delve into this book if you have triggers. Now, this is a new to me author and what a treat Forbidden Firefly is! It's a great age gap, definitely dark, "forbidden", steamy and intense story. It's also a very emotional story and pulled at my heart from every angle. Killian/Malice and Ahryn/Firefly go through great times as well as horrific times but through it all they had each other. Going through their journey with these characters has been both beautiful and gutwrenching. This author has written an excellent story with incredible characters that you not only can relate to but also empathize with.
"Love has no boundaries. We will live an extraordinary life together, always riding beside each other and never leaving each other’s side."
I can get down on age gap. I can get down on taboo relationships, but a part of me felt the godfather bit, and having being such a pentacle part of raising the FMC gave me a little bit of grooming vibes. It took me a minute to get over that and just realize it’s popularity has to do with the taboo relationship. I think the writing was good. Unlike so many MC Romances the FMC was not annoying or unknowing to every aspect of “club life.” (I use quotes there because I think we can all recognize that the majority of these books don’t actually represent true 1% lifestyles).
Story was good. Pacing was good and nice twists and turns with some of the drama within the story.
Omggg this book was fuckintastic. Like fr fr. From the start till the end, the author had my heart in the palm of her hands and I didn't regret it once. The way the story has a plot with romance, lust, sex and love....it was perfect. Picture perfect. I rarely say this about books but if you want to read a movie? Yes, you heard it right. READ a MOVIE, then this book is the one for you.
It's about a beautiful, strong and courageous girl, Ahryn, who is born in a family of bikers. Her upbringing is mostly done by her parents and her Godfather, Killian. Yeah, Killian. What a sexy name for a sexy mf bastard. But anyways, Ahryn grows up, faces a few incidents, fights and whatnot, goes through one of the toughest phases of her life which only make her stronger than she has ever been. She finds herself having extremely strong feelings for her godfather and tries to ignore them as much as she can because she knows its a taboo relationship and that her godfather, too, might not feel the same way. What she doesn't know is that Killian feels more strongly towards her than she could ever begin to imagine. The journey towards never-ending fights, battles, scars, history, journey, adventure and revenge begins, with a drop of love right in between the rose, giving rise to a new labyrinth of a heated maze. Will Killian cross the lines? Will Ahryn cross the limits?
What will they do when they are faced with more unimaginable family secrets? What lies ahead of them when dark secrets unravel at the speed of light, enough to make you GASP like never before? What is the final fate to not the lust they both only carry for each other, but also the love, passion and strong desire for each other.
This book had the PROPER emotions in them. If I tell you that a character, who was barely mentioned, ruined me to pieces with 2 lines? Believe me, it did. That's how strong is this author when it comes to what she writes. If you are looking for romance with A PLOT...bro, the plot is to die for. Perfectly planned, perfectly executed and perfectly shown. I mean....I didn't hate one thing about this entire book.
Imagine even loving the traitor. That's how freaking awesome this book was.

"Firefly, look at me," he whispers.

“Firefly, having you in my life means everything to me."

"If I could be something more, I would be yours.”

Her stubbornness makes me want to wrap my hands around her throat and fuck it out of her. That will stop her from fighting me pretty quickly and will turn her face a sexy shade of red.

The world could burn the fuck down, and I would be happy eating her on top of the ashes.

O.M.G!!! Ok so I'm not even done but I had to stop my reading to start my review. Sweet baby Jesus! I'm at 47% into my reading and WOW! How I missed reading Motorcycle club stories. They are always dark and dirty in the best way. I've read age gaps in MC stories but I don't think I've read them when there is a "familial" relationship in it and the way the author wrote this book was just chefs kiss. Not gonna lie, at the beginning I was a little hesitant about it the way she develop the characters and their story was just perfect. I didn't feel like the relationship was wrong or like he took advantage of her. Nope not at all. If anything you can see a strong FMC that knew what she wanted and took what had always belong to her. Like their destiny had been written before and the age was not going to stop them.
The story had the right amount of plot and character development. The built up and tension was perfect. You could feel the goosebumps with Ahryn when she is going thru some of her emotions as well as her terrors re-living her past traumas. As I was getting closer to the end I caught myself reading slower because I didn't wait it to end. Also side note Allie decides to add more stories for the rest of the MC members. I also LOVE the cover. Is just the perfect amount of beauty and menacing. Can't wait to get my hands on the paperback.
Ok, I'm back.... I'm at 76% and holly cow!!!!!!!! Bane... Killian... Ahryn... that was freaking insane! The end of the chapter was just explosive. I mean I knew it would come to this but dang. I don't think I was prepare for Malice to loose his mind when working on a plan to get back to the enemy MC club. I mean, one minute your just like imagining it and next thing you know Malice just looses it and mayhem unfolds. My nail-biting habit was at its worst during that chapter! When I tell you I re-read the end multiple times and I still gasp every single time like if it was the first time reading it. Yeap! the shock was still there every single time!
Ok so I've officially finished and I'm still processing the freaking plot twist. A part of me kinda thought that was going to happened. All I can say I loved loved loved it!!
Thank you Allie for letting me take part on this wonderful ARC.
🖤romantic suspense 🏍️motorcycle club 🙏🏼Godfather/Goddaughter 🤫Dad’s best friend 🤭AGE GAP (FMC is 18 years younger than MMC) 🚨 determined, tough FMC 🥵over the top protective MMC
Wow. I did N O T expect to love this book as much as I did!!! 😳Allie Stern certainly has a gift for writing and story telling, as she had me completely engrossed in this story into the wee hours of the morning after a 45 hour work week! 🤯 Seriously, I was up the ENTIRE night and i’m typing this while drinking my fifth cup of coffee🥲I’ve had to DNF quite a few books recently, so becoming so obsessed with this one was quite the achievement that will (hopefully) get me out of my funk! Killian (LOVE the names in this book!) was one HOT daddy🥵🥵 seriously, he loved and protected Ahryn since she was born!! I was a bit nervous that the whole “godfather/goddaughter” thing would creep me out, but the development, maturity, and changing of that love was honestly perfect and didn’t make me uncomfortable at all! Seriously, the growth of their love was beautiful, and it really did steer away from what I had anticipated to probably be more on the creepy end of things. Ahryn, for her part, is an amazing FMC. Seriously, she is one DETERMINED, INDEPENDENT chick!! 💪🏼Whatever the guys can do, she can do better (and she can do it looking gorgeous as hell, too!). For all of her independence and strength though, having her be aware of Killian’s support and eternal presence, as well as his overprotective tendencies, kind of summed up the type of love that I feel everyone wants out of life. Overall, I really, really enjoyed her character, with her strength, determination, fearlessness, confidence, resilience, etc. really making her the perfect FMC. Without giving too much away, the twists and turns in the last ~40% of the book shocked me😳 I didn’t really anticipate that at all. I loved this book, but only real complaint about the book has to do with that, that I wish we got to see and understand more of Ahryn’s relationship with Bane and what will come later for them (and Killian!).
Here I was reading a MC dark romance book because I was sold on a godfather getting with his goddaughter. I said what I said. And what I actually got was a book full of angst, haunting scenes, action, and an inevitable couple.
“If the demons come, I want you to be the one to help. Only the broken can heal the broken.”
I liked how the story opens into a gripping scene that you know you will return to, as you keep reading on.
Killian was patched in at 17, to the Kings of Rapture. Best friends with the MC president Bane. Killian’s past is raw. I was heartbroken for what he went through, what he survived, and how his world got fuller by patching in. His world got fuller because he found a family, and took his responsibility as VP seriously and becomes godfather to Ahryn.
He adores her, he protects her, and he will not let any man belittle her for being a girl around gritty and sometimes misogynistic men. I never felt uncomfortable reading about them. Killian’s and Ahryn’s feelings started to develop as the plot gets heavy and she is in danger. When their world falls apart it comes crashing together. He is the only one that can reach her in her nightmares. She is the only one that can be his light in the dark.
“If I could be something more, I would be yours.” “Tell me, Firefly. Tell me I am not alone.”
The air in my lungs left me, woosh! I was ready to combust. It’s beautifully written, tragic, and raw. The author brought light to the couple as individuals who were both haunted by monsters and trying to make their way out of the hell their enemies put them in as a couple.
I cried at a scene in this book, teared up, I sweated and swooned. Ahryn 👏she pushes him. Here she is getting herself off to him. She calls him Daddy and when she climbs up him and 🏍️his face. I was screaming, and kicking my legs, and Killian is done for.
“You are mine, Firefly.”
It’s forbidden and filthy, It’s emotional, and beautiful. This was one hell of a ride. That ending, the way Killian gives her something (I can’t say) but damn that was perfect. 🩸
