A dead fox at his doorstep, a handsome sheriff, and a town brimming with secrets... Desperate for a fresh start after a painful breakup, Ian Porter inherits his grandfather's antique store and heads to the enigmatic town of Fox Haven. Little does he know that a dead fox on his doorstep is just the beginning. When he crosses paths with the irresistibly handsome sheriff, everything changes. Romance isn't on Ian's agenda, but there's an undeniable allure to Owen that keeps him intrigued. Yet, something is amiss in Fox Haven, and the sheriff holds the key. Sheriff Owen Greyson’s duty is to uphold peace in a town where humans and fox shifters coexist. When an inquisitive human enters the scene, Owen's life takes an unexpected turn. However, there's little time for romance as a murderer lurks in the shadows, threatening the fragile peace. Together, Owen and Ian must unravel the truth before more lives are claimed. Along the way, Owen must convince Ian that fated mates and the existence of fox shifters are undeniably real. Prepare for a sizzling adventure in Hots for Mr. Fox, the first book of the Fox Haven series. This MM paranormal romance will ignite your senses with its action-packed plot, a grumpy yet lovable sheriff, and the endearing awkwardness of an adorably human.
Is Owan a fox or a wolf, because he's referred to as both. Is his brother buried on pack lands, or is it den lands, or the town cemetery. He visits his grave in the beginning, then apparently also visits it for the first time in the end. Plus, so many typos. I enjoyed the premise of the story, but please get some better proof readers.
I’m a big fan of Fel Fern, but this book didn’t really live up to my expectations. It’s an ok story, but I just didn’t feel much of a connection between Owen and Ian.
This is an interesting start to this series. I struggled a little bit in the beginning but, after a few chapters, I found that I didn't want to put it down.
Growing up, Ian would spend lots of time with his grandfather and his antique store in Fox Haven. After his parents divorced, his visits mostly stopped. Now he has grown up and is heart broken after his boyfriend breaks up. He receives the news that his grandfather has died and left Ian the store. Ian plans to spend the next month in Fox Haven winding up his grandfather's affairs. The first time he goes to the store, he is approached by the town sheriff Owen. When the two enter the store, they find a dead body that turns into a dead fox. Owen tries to pretend it was always a fox and it was just a prank. Ian is determined to stay close to Owen because he suspects this death has something to do with his grandfather's death. However he ends up learning about shifters and true mates since Owen says they are true mates.
Owen is the sheriff of Fox Haven and is a fox shifter. His brother was the alpha of the pack until his mate was killed by someone who wanted to challenge for the alpha position. Owen is sure that the new alpha cheated in some way. Owen left the pack and is focusing on being sheriff. Then Ian comes to town after his grandfather's death and Owen knows that he has found his mate, The problem is that Ian is human and only staying for a few weeks. Can Owen keep him safe with a crazy alpha in town?.

Sheriff Owen Greyson still misses his deceased brother, Dane, and he visits his grave twice a week. Ever since his brother died, he seems to be losing more and more of his control over his fox. Cal Yates approached him, asking how he was doing. They both had belonged to the same pack but Owen left after Dane’s death. Neither of them are happy with the new alpha, Tanner, and Cal asked why Owen never challenged him after he killed Dane, but Owen was not a natural leader like his brother. Then Cal told him a new human had arrived in town to take over his deceased relative’s antique store where the pack had their meetings after closing. Oddly enough, Tanner had been the last one with Maurice before he died… or was murdered.
Ian Porter finally walked across the street from his rented apartment to look at the antique store he inherited. A deep voice told him the owner died, so the store was closed. At first the man’s eyes looked amber, but now they were green. Must have been the light affecting what he saw. Owen followed Ian inside as he scented something dead. A man’s body had claw marks all over him. Will Ian join Owen in the search for the killer? When will Ian figure out that Owen and most of the town are shifters? Could there be a future waiting for the two of them?
This is the first book in the new series Fox Haven. This is the story of Ian Porter and Owen Greyson. Ian is a human who has inherited an antique shop in Fox Haven from his grandfather. He is completely unaware that shifters exist and that the town is filled with fox shifters and humans. Still hurting from a bad breakup, he has given himself a month to sort out his grandfather's affairs and hopefully reset himself at the same time. Owen Greyson is still in pain and openly grieving the loss of his brother and his mate. Owen is a fox shifter and the sheriff in town. He thinks he knows that his brother was killed but he doesn't have any proof to back up his idea. The two meet in town and the chemistry between them is off the charts. Ian has no idea why he instantly feels safe with the sheriff nor why there is an instant attraction. Owen does. He knows that they are fated mates. Now all Owen has to do is explain shifters and fated mates. And keep Ian alive from an unknown threat. Life is about to get interesting for both of them. I really enjoyed this story. It is well written and easy to read. I read the book in one sitting. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Thought this might be better with a co-author but, sadly, no
I was hoping that the standard of writing would improve but I can only surmise that Kara Kitt is either a close relative of Fel or just another name for her, because this book was littered with all the usual grammatical errors. My favourite this time round involved Ian's relative who died; depending on which page you were reading at the time, he was either Ian's grandfather or his uncle and this carried on throughout the book. The story was okay but all over the place. I didn't feel the connection between Ian and Owen at all, especially as they were fated mates. Owen seemed not to care about that his fated was only planning to stay in Fox Hollow for a few weeks, as he'd just make the most of the time they'd got. I liked the Fox Hollow world, and the other characters who appeared were far more interesting than Ian or Owen. Cal was the first to catch my eye, then Cliff appeared (and he has two brothers that we didn't meet), and finally Ian's best friend, Nate. Call me psychic but I already knew that Cal and Nate (even though they didn't meet in this book) would be mates and, lo and behold, they're up next. Fingers crossed, their story is better.
Ian, human, came to town to settle the inheritance his GrandFather left him. When he was younger, he visited his GrandFather every summer. Ian, has questions, about his GrandFather's sudden death and his store. Sheriff Owen, has thoughts. He has suspicions. Then he meets Ian and realizes, he may have a mate. There are a few mysteries occupying Sheriff Owen's mind while he realizes he must protect Ian. This is a sweet story on one side, a mystery on the other and a bit of an adventure exploring new worlds and complications. Great story, nice friends and interesting pack. Ms Fern as always creats a great set of characters with whom we can fall in love. Great story, well done! Totally hot cover art! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love reading new series and this one started off nice. Owen and Ian instant connection (fated mates) couldn't be denied. Love that there was no real mystery to the evilness surrounding Fox Haven...just the main goal in getting justice and having peace. Since this is a shifter/human match(no mpreg) not really an alpha/omega, I'm guessing more distinction will be giving in upcoming books...well I enjoyed this regardless...The good prevailed and a totally sweet and satisfying HEA for the guys. I'm excited for the next one in the series.

Ian’s grandfather past away and Ian needed to go to Fox Haven to settle his estate. His grandfather owned an antique store on main street. Owen is the sheriff in town who recently lost his brother and mate who were fox shifters. Dane, Owen’s brother was lead alpha of the skulk until Tanner killed him in a challenge. Tanner cheated and was evil even to his own kind. Ian meets Owen and starts asking questions after a fox is found dead in his grandfathers shop. This is a mystery of several deaths and avenging those killed.
Ian came to town to settle an inheritance from his grandfather. With his death being so sudden, he enlists the aid of the local sheriff. Local sheriff, Owen has his own suspicions about the death of Ian's grandfather. What he also discovers is Ian is his mate and he must be protected.
Their connection was instant, the cooking was a whole mess, but they were incredibly sweet.
**I received this arc from Booksprout for my honest feedback.**
This was a great start to a new series! I enjoyed Ian and Owen together. These two were sweet and just who the other needed. I did feel as though there was not much of a connection but they did have great chemistry. I am looking forward to Cal's book soon!

I typically live MM shifter romances but I simply could t get into this one. Maybe it’s just my ADHD or that these authors have a different writing style than I’m used to. I know a lot of people like their books. It just wasn’t for me.

I loved Hots for Mr. Fox by Fel Fern. It's the first book in the Fox Haven series. I loved Owen and Ian's story. I loved Fox Hollow and that Tanner got what was coming to him. I also loved Cal and Cliff. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

I really enjoyed this book, and a good beginning to a new series. I liked both Ian and Owen. Owen realized Ian is his mate; and Ian doesn't know shifters exist. I always enjoy that introduction into the supernatural world. They were also sweet together. The mystery and suspense of the storyline kept me interested as well. Another great read from Fel Fern. 4 stars.
This is the book you need when you debating fate/destiny? Right place & right time
Sheriff has loss his brother and his brothers mate and still processing his grief. Ian has lost his grandfather and goes to a small town to take care of his possessions. A murder has a ripple effect. Ian has a need for answer that puts his life at risk. This is a great shift story. MM romance

This was a nice read but I would have preferred it stuck to the fluffier side of the story. I felt like the mystery was really forced and while not bad just unnecessary for me to enjoy the read. Might still check out the sequel but no rush to do so.
This book didn't work as either a good shifter story or a good romance. No heat to speak of and the story seemed like it was written very quickly. Almost like a parody of a real book.
About the only thing I can say is it wasn't offensive in any possible way.
It seems like a cute story but I felt like I was being told a story rather shown the story. The pacing for me seemed a bit off and the voice seemed a bit stiff and inconsistent.
I am so sad when I don't like a book, especially one with shifters 🙁 The world building was non existent, the romance meh and there were some plot holes. 🙁
I love fel fern but uh... Owen is referred to as a wolf and a fox multiple times and where his brother is buried changes every time it's mentioned. Not her best work.
This was a good book. Ian definitely didn’t make the smartest decisions at first. But he really tried after his talk with Owen, good for him! This town sounds cute.
