A good collection of shorts can be hard to find. If you pick up this one, you struck gold. Strange new neighbors with fancy classic cars, a rare antique book that holds information specific to the reader, a beautiful flower that everyone wants to possess, and a dark secret that was almost forgotten, but resurfaces at a most inopportune time decades later with terrible repercussions. All four of these stories are dark and compelling. Each turn of the page takes you deeper into the macabre and terrifying events impacting the main character's and making it impossible to put down. A great read!

Highly recommend! This collection of creepy stories (two short stories and two novellas) is full of chills, thrills, and unexpected twists. You can sense influences from the likes of Stephen King and Edgar Allan Poe amongst others but what the book really reminded me of was the TV series Tales from the Crypt...these stories would have fit so well into that amazing show and I could almost picture The Cryptkeeper popping up throughout the book to sum up what I had just read and introduce the next one. A highly enjoyable read and I've added the author's other book (a novel titled A Frightful Harvest) to my TBR based on the quality of this book.

I dug this short story/novella horror collection. Def recommend if you enjoy sci-fi, Invasions of the Bodysnatchers-type horror, just desserts, and consuming madness plots.

The stories that stood out most to me were “The Pallbearer’s Rose” and “Water Works”. Def my fave and notable.

Loved that the author chose to make some protagonists unlike able but flawed and at times maybe sympathetic. It made the stories feel more real.

I’m glad to have been able to read this through a GoodReads giveaway. It’s def worth the time!

Wow. Great book. It had me hooked from page one. The writing is excellent, storylines are unique, no faults at all, in my opinion. I, thankfully, won another book by this author and can not wait to start.

Wow!

All the stories held my interest, and were enjoyable to read. I like that the endings wers not neccesarily what you would expect....especially the last story.
