Love To The Rescue

Rate this book

I think this is one of Barbara Cartland's best romances. She has a strong leading lady in a time when women were expected to be simpering misses. The plot is clever and the pacing keeps one turnign the pages.

Beautiful Cleona Howard had agreed to the masquerade for the sake of her best friend. So, overnight, she had become the wealthy granddaughter of a duchess, and was introduced into glittering London society. Before Cleona knew it, she became enchanted with the reckless young Duke of Lynke -- an ensnared in a web of mystery and love. But what would her handsome suitor do when he found out the truth. . . how far could Cleona's masquerade really go?
