Michael Oren, former US Ambassador to Israel and IDF soldier (among his MANY accomplishments) has written a short insightful book (published in 2022) describing many facets of Israeli history, politics, and culture in an honest straight forward manner and then looks forward to what Israel should do to become the best country and society possible for its 100-year anniversary in 2048. I wish I had read this book before I visited Israel in 2023 and would love to know Oren’s opinions in a post Oct 7 world.

A very thoughtful manifesto on the current state of the country from multiple underreported angles and what changes should be made for a better future. In total, the suggestions are ambitious, and not necessarily realistic in the current climate, but still worth pursuing.
