Bobby Hutchinson's Special Education is exciting from beginning to end with all the crazy flashers, robbers, stalkers and one hot RCMP Sergeant. The major theme revolved around the developing love between Carrie, the exceptional children's teacher of young children and the RCMP Sergeant Hunter. She is an only child with a clinging mother; his is from a very large active family. She lives in an apartment upstairs in the house of her landlady, Rita; he lives in his own house that is super clean with a bird, named One. She wants to be an independent woman and he wants to protect her from harm and when she admits she has a stalker. Hunter goes into professional hovering police control of Carrie, which begins to drive her a little crazy. At this point, I stop telling you the story and encourage your to read this story for yourself. It is first a romance but also a mystery, thriller, he-man hot cop, educational, and family story. Oh, I forgot to mention the children in Carrie's classroom with the lead actor calling the Sergeant "Fuzz", the blind boy feeling everything and a variety of other very special children.

Fun, easy read. The main characters were likeable. Loved the special ed child, Matthew. Lots of typo errors detracted from the reading. It was less about the special ed children than the romance between the main characters. Would have liked to have seen more about the children.

Teetering between 4 and 5 stars, but the blurb at the end describing the author tipped me to five stars. This was a fun, enjoyable romantic tale with a hint of adventure and suspense. The characters are very likable, a bit predictable and would have liked more on the special education part, but at least it was there. It was good 'commuting reading'. There were a few spelling mistakes in the Kindle version I was reading, but nothing too bad.

Carrie Zablonski is a special education teacher. Hunter O'Reilly is part of the RCMP. They meet on a case and start dating. It ends up Carrie has a stalker who is a former boyfriend. Both of them have a lot of baggage. I wanted to like this more than I actually did. I found the depiction of her special needs students worrisome. I feel like the story tried to cover too many things and as a result shorted all of them. I did like the resolution for the main characters.

Excellent Harlequin-Style Romance; Perfect Beach Read.

Over the years, I’ve read numerous books by Bobby Hutchinson and she never fails to entertain me. She can be counted on to provide well written, entertaining books with engaging characters, as she did with this book.

Ms. Hutchinson used to write books for Harlequin Romance, and I think that this is one in that genre. I like Harlequin Romance when I am in the mood for a well written, but light and fast read. The characters in this book were extremely likeable and fairly well developed, within the parameters of the genre. I particularly enjoyed the Canadian setting and the addition of the RCMP as the hero’s occupation in this work. The suspense portion was enough to set up some conflict, but it was quite mild with no graphic or gory violence.

This book should appeal to readers who like well written Harlequin Romance. Readers who dislike the Harlequin imprint probably should avoid this offering.

There is very mild cussing and a little non-explicit sex. I consider it to be a clean read but I know that some readers would be offended.

Love unexpected

Carrie is a school teacher for special children and has a crazy ex who just want stop stalking her. Hunter is a Mountie who lost what he thought was the love of his life when he was a young man by a senseless accident. He blamed himself all these years for her death. When he first meets Carrie its because she is seized upon by a flasher in the park as she is jogging and Hunter is sent to interview her about it. He finds a connection with her and decides to pursue a relationship that is almost doomed from the start because of what he thinks love is supposed to be about.

Another great hit by Bobby Hutchinson! Special needs kids are truly special. I loved Hunter's response the first time he went into their classroom. Carrie was an awesome teacher and I loved how she explained each child was perfect in their own way. A wonderful happy ending for Hunter & Carrie!!!

Why did they change the title? It makes no sense. I lost the front cover and the first few pages in the book since I got it (over 20 years ago from the library book sale) and wanted to double check the cover and see if was part of a series. New title, new cover pic, neither of them help the book at all.

Very enjoyable book. Characters were interesting and realistic. The plot was straightforward and easy to follow. The author, new to me, did an excellent job of organizing her material. I hope to read more from her in the future.

Wonderful.

I normally read paranormal stories because I can completely escape into fantasy BUT this book grabbed my attention and I stayed up way too late because I just had to know it would have a happy ending. Loved it and I will be reading more of Bobby 's books.

Carrie & Hunter were both strong characters, which lead to major disagreements, but love was the winner!

I loved this book. My strong woman is here but some of the things that she does makes her life harder. I loved her special education students. They were so real.

It was clear this is a backlist reprint, or at least something that was written years ago. The attitudes and language were very out of date - I just didn't feel like reading that.

Livros com o tema de proteção a testemunha raramente dão certo quando combinados com romance, pois há uma tendência de ignorar um em favor do outro.

Foi o que aconteceu aqui.

What a whirlwind!

This book has it all! The subtitle states that it is a "A Police Romance" which it is, but it is so much more. If you want to laugh, cheer, and fall in love read this book.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Sergeant Hunter O'Reilly a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police responds to a call about a flasher in the park. The women that was flashed Carrie Zablonski is a little on the upset side when they failed to catch the flasher. Hunter taking her statement finds himself wanting to see more of her. Carrie just getting out of a bad relationship is leery of men. Hunter is persistent. When her past starts to threaten her future Hunter wants to protect her but Carrie doesn't want a protector. She had grown up with a mother that depended on her for everything after losing her husband and Carrie didn't want to go down that same road.

This was a wonderful book. Lots of mystery, suspense and romance. Hunter was a protector and in order to keep Carrie he had to learn to let her stand on her own two feet and just be a friend and equal. The children Carrie teaches play a wonderful part in the story. She is a strong women and has no problems standing up for herself. There are quite a few funny moments and some steamy hot sex.

MEME, ARE THERE ANY LOLMANCE NOVELS THAT INVOLVE A MOUNTIE?

I HAVE PERSONALLY READ TWO. THEY ARE OLD HARLEQUIN SUPERROMANCE FROM THE 1980'S-90'S. ONE IS CALLED "NORTHERN KNIGHTS" (WHICH LOOKS LIKE IT'S BEEN REISSUED AS A KINDLE EBOOK CALLED "KNIGHTS OF THE NORTH" FOR $2.99) AND ONE IS CALLED "EVERY MOVE YOU MAKE." THE FIRST IS ACTUALLY LOLARIOUSLY ENTERTAINING. IT'S BASICALLY ABOUT A MOUNTIE WHO IS KIND OF THE STEREOTYPICAL 1980'S MALE CHAUVINIST AND A LADY MOUNTIE WHO GETS SENT TO WORK WITH HIM IN THE YUKON. AT FIRST HE IS VERY >:( TO HER AND THEN HE COMES TO REALIZE THAT SHE IS AWESOME AND THEY FALL IN LOVE. THE OTHER ONE IS VERY ISSUE-Y IN THE WAY THAT SUPERROMANCE CAN BE. IT IS ABOUT A WOMAN WITH A STALKER AND THE MOUNTIE WHO PROTECTS HER FROM HIM. IT DEFINITELY READS LIKE A "VERY SPECIAL EPISODE" TYPE OF BOOK ABOUT STALKING.

Of the Bobby Hutchinson books I've read so far, Special Education is by far my favorite. Special Education is a well written book but it does have a few typo kind of editing problems. Not enough to take away from the story. The characters in this book are totally adorable, I loved the kids especially. Even though there is plenty of drama, humor and bits of steam, this is a fun book to read. I look forward to reading more from Bobby Hutchinson in the future. This book is a complete story, not a cliff-hanger.

Something missing

I enjoyed the story, and the cast of characters. The only problem I had was the confrontation seemed too rushed and stopped so suddenly that the next scene made me look to see if pages were missing. It went right in to the hero talking to his friend, after that it seemed to backtrack to what happened after the confrontation. It would have been four stars if not for that. Some bad proofreading, but easy to get around. Nice story, loved the special kids.

Always sweet natured

Ms. Bobby seems to enjoy making her readers be left with a warm and happy feeing. Because of the nature of the different characters she reminds us to allow others to be themselves and to appreciate what they are.
