Real breezy read and similarly to the earliest Bloom County collection, it is charming to see the earliest incarnations of characters. The lawyer for children is really funny, I haven’t seen the character in any modern Tom the Dancing Bug so I guess he kinda wore the premise out. Also a lot less wordy when he had to write out the majority of the words. Enjoyable collection!

I paid far too much for a used copy of this book on Amazon. But it's been out of print since 1993, and I knew I needed to complete my Ruben Bolling collection. Given its rarity, I can only recommend it to completists. I heartily recommend all of Bolling's later work, however.

Marvel at the earliest collected cartoons of Tom the Dancing Bug, including some absolutely forgettable "Max & Doug" strips, as well as the introduction of Charly the Australopithecine and many other skewed commentaries on George Bush Senior.

Fast forward to the latest compilation, the large "Thrilling Stories" and Bolling's wit is even sharper and funnier, while tearing into G.W. Bush.
