Finished reading the New Testament (comprising of 27 books) for the 5th time. I am so delighted that this completion coincides with Easter today.
My gratitude and heartfelt thanks to God for granting me the patience to read His word and grasp its (unfathomable) depth. I must confess, that this is for the first time I have been able to deep dive into scripture and contemplate on each verse from a theological/scholarly perspective. And this wouldn’t have been possible without the able guidance of Tara-Leigh Cobble (Creator/Author/Host, The Bible Recap) and Tim Mackie (Co-Founder, BibleProject).
While reading this New Testament plan on YouVersion (see Reference #1), the insights provided in the recap videos by Tim and Tara-Leigh were truly an eye opener. Their invaluable insights made me understand the background and context of the verses (in each book) from an all-new perspective. I can’t seem to thank them both enough for sharing their enlightening knowledge and viewpoint for free. May God shower His choicest blessings on Tim & Tara-Leigh (and their whole team) — as they are the torchbearers of spreading the gospel (aka good news).
Next, I am so eager to get started with the YouVersion plan ‘The Bible Recap With Tara-Leigh Cobble’ that covers the whole Bible in 365 days.
Last but not least, my heartfelt thanks to YouVersion for creating such a beautiful and engaging mobile app that makes reading the Holy Bible a daily ritual and so much fun.
NT read-through 1/2 for the year! If I keep this plan up. I’m enjoying reading it through more quickly for the broader story and themes, but I do wish I had time to sit and meditate more slowly on each book.
