Roberta "Bobbi" DePorter is the President of the Quantum Learning Network (QLN) and co-founder of the SuperCamp program.

In the late-1970s, DePorter was co-founder of the Burklyn Business School in Vermont – an avante-garde school that taught traditional business subjects in a non-traditional manner. DePorter studied with Dr. Georgi Lozanov, who developed accelerated learning, and applied his methods at the school.

In 1982, DePorter teamed-up with Eric Jensen and Greg Simmons to co-found SuperCamp – a summer camp program designed to introduce teenagers to accelerated learning academic skills and valuable life skills. The SuperCamp program is now run by QLN and is held annually at several locations across the United States and around the world. Since 1982, more than 50,000 students worldwide have attended SuperCamp.DePorter's books have been published in several countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, Indonesia and Brazil.

DePorter is a past President of the International Alliance for Learning, and a past Chairman the San Diego Chamber of Commerce's Business Roundtable for Best Educational Practices.

Bobbi DePorter is the mother of Grant DePorter, a Chicago restaurateur who came to worldwide prominence in 2004 when he paid US$113,824.16 for a baseball which a fan had unwittingly deflected out of the hands of a Chicago Cubs player (thus contributing to the team's defeat in the 2003 National League Championship Series), and then having the ball blown-up in a nationally televised event intended to help end the "Curse of the Billy Goat" which had afflicted the Cubs since 1945.

This is the BEST book for improving teaching I have ever read. I reread it almost every summer. It was written by a woman named Bobbi DePorter who founded a program called "SuperCamp" which is a summer learning camp for kids. The principles and tools provided in this book are not only effective with kids of all ages, but fun to implement and even if you try only one idea from this book, it will help to jumpstart your teaching and make learning and teaching more fun. I actually had the privelege of meeting Bobbi a few years ago when I worked at one of her camps and she is a very genuine person. My son has worked for them for 5 years and they have inspired him to want to be a teacher.

Although the style of delivery comes off at times sounding like a pitchman for the latest hot item on an infomercial I did find myself becoming excited about implementing some of the suggested practices in the classroom. I appreciated the addition of brain research findings regarding how we process. learn, and store information. Though certainly not a cure-all I do plan to employ some of the recommendations both in my personal life and the classroom.
