"If you're gonna write a poem--write it hot enough--to burn the page." I love to see that kind of passion in what I read. Adrian Manning of Leicester, England practices what he preaches. All the ghosts and memories are resident in his words, and in the darkness he writes of. He channels tough poets of the past, yet there's still a heart there that alternately yells and whispers its conflicts with itself. All of his poems counterpunch with rhythm, grace, and force. And yet this bull finds its way through the china shop with all contents intact. You can't ask poetry to do more than that.
