The Sexton Sisters #4

The Christmas Crush

Rate this book
The whole world knows his name.
But he wants to know yours...

Ground, please swallow me whole.
One drunken night out and suddenly I'm the face (and boobs) of every viral holiday meme going.

If I want to keep my teaching job at the Catholic girls' school, or have my pearl-clutching family look me in the eye ever again, I need a time machine. Or a Christmas miracle.

Foolproof plan: spend the rest of the holiday season licking my wounds. Somewhere peaceful. Tranquil. Totally off the radar. Like my BFF's gorgeous holiday villa on Ireland's west coast.

Minor half of Hollywood is here to film a Hallmark Christmas movie.

Major Nate Jackson, Hollywood's hottest actor and my all-time celebrity crush is starring in it. And somehow, after the most surreal night of my life, I'm cast as an utterly unlikely extra.

My quiet Christmas just got crazy. But the craziest part of this entire scenario?

Turns out Nate Jackson is crazy - about me.

Is it a Christmas miracle, or a fleeting festive crush?

He's the brightest star on the Christmas tree and I'm like the joke from the Christmas cracker.

We're a match made in Hallmark hell, so why does it feel like heaven?

This book is an open door, steamy, standalone romance, featuring some of the same characters from The Sexton Sisters Series, and introducing a set of utterly adorable brand new ones. The characters ocassionally use profanities because darn it just doesnt cut it sometimes!

Just so you know, Nate is now my book boyfriend and you can’t have him.

Ok I’ll share.
Lyndsey Gallagher does it again with The Christmas Crush. Holly is endearing and relatable with her desire to please her family, all the while putting aside what she wants. Nate is the perfect leading man. From his Hollywood good looks and money, to his baggage making him a work in progress, he ticks all the boxes. The chemistry between the two is palpable. And the spice is pot on! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ You know you are reading a good book when you catch your face in a giant smile or you feel your heart squeezing in emotion.
Run, do not walk and grab this book. You will NOT be disappointed.

You know when you have a crush on an actor and wish to bump into him randomly because you wish he falls for you and sweeps you off your feet? Well this book is about that. So instead of daydreaming that Henry Cavill or Pedro Pascal (or any of my other actor crushes) comes into my life to rock it, I read this book in a day. OMG THIS WAS SO CUTE BUT SO HOT AND SO ROMANTIC AND I NEED MORE!!! At first I was cautious because it’s kinda insta love but it’s done so well and it seems so natural and the story progresses so smoothly that I didn’t even care, and trust me I am super judge when it comes to insta love, but here is really well done. The chemistry between Nate and Holly is pure fire and I loved their banter. I am a big fan of everything Lyndsey writes but I truly believe she just keeps on getting better with each book.
Oh and the cameos from my favourites from the Sexton Sisters series? PURE HAPPINESS 🥰🥰🥰🥰

fun read

This book is a really fun Christmas novel! Steamy, too! Holly and Nate are such an endearing couple—-he couldn’t be more charming and devoted, and she couldn’t be lovelier.

I'm a huge fan of Lindsey Gallagher and have read and loved all of her books! I was really looking forward to reading her new book and I wasn't disappointed: I absolutely loved this book! It was funny, entertaining and so hot!

The story is like a modern fairy-tale: Holly is completely down on her luck and just wants to hide from the world. By chance she meets famous actor Nate - and they hit it off.

Holly is such a likable character and Nate is the perfect book-boyfriend. The supporting characters were funny and entertaining (Nate's parents - LOL) and I really hope Savannah and Ashley will get their own book. I can't wait for the next book!

I received an ARC via booksirens.com and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The Christmas Crush is another perfect example as to why Lyndsey Gallagher is one of my favourite authors. She never fails to deliver the humour, romance and spice.

Holly head's to the small town to hide after a video of her goes viral. Nate is in town to film a new movie and when the pair meet (very unexpectedly) the chemistry is off the charts, you can feel it sizzle and opposites most definitely attract.
And wait till you meet Nate's patents,

"Christmas with the Fockers has nothing on this"

So settle in and enjoy this brilliant book.

Don't let the cute cover fool you, this book is spicy!!

This was my fourth ARC by Lyndsey Gallagher and it was just as fantastic as all the others! Lyndsey does a great job of making her characters lovable and relatable, yet you wish you were them because their lives are so fantastic and a little over-the-top! There is so much depth to the characters but they're also funny!

The relationship between Holly and Nate is swoon-worthy. I not only fell in love with them each as a character, but the dynamic between them was amazing. Both characters have such amazing support in their lives and I loved the relationship Holly had with her friends when her family was absent.

I highly recommend this book to those who love:
- spicy romcoms
- holiday romance
- billionair romance
- movie-star romance
- swoony settings

Thank you to Book Sirens and author Lyndsey Gallagher for the digital copy. My review is honest and voluntary.

The Christmas Crush is a pure delight!

The chemistry and spice between Nate and Holly is perfection and for it to be set at Christmas makes it even better. Nate is definitely the perfect book boyfriend and the family dynamics brings a smile to your face.

This is my first book by Lyndsey Gallagher and it won’t be my last. I would highly recommend this adorable Christmas book.

I was lucky enough to be sent an ARC of this book and omg did i have fun reading this

This was such a cozy read but also had me so stressed for the fmc. I loved the concept and I loved how Nate fell first and harder. I know Holly had had a crush on him since she was 15 but nothing compared to Nate’s feelings for her. He wanted to protect her and do anything to keep her in his life.

The only issue i had was that i felt it was a bit rushed but besides that the book was incredible. It was christmassy and had me all in my feelings

After reading another book by this author, I had to request this one too and get reading. I just love Christmassy romance stories.

With the added spice too I was there for it!

I loved the fact that even though this was about Holly, Nate had such a huge part of this book and can I say made us fall in love with him. He’s actually my favourite character in this book.

The emotion, the giddiness.. all of it was spot on and I’m so grateful to have read this book. Maybe with slightly more spice I would’ve rated this 5* but I can safely say this book did not disappoint.

A lovely visit to the rural West Coast of Ireland as art teacher Holly goes off grid to escape the ‘accidentally’ topless viral meme posted by a vindictive ex. Unfortunately her bolt hole just happens to be the location for the latest Hallmark Christmas film starring her all time celebrity crush actor Nathan ‘Nate’ Jackson. The same Nate Jackson who she finds in her holiday let after a booking mix up. That was enough to have me hooked – the perfect meet-cute and forced proximity all in one go – count me in.

Holly couldn’t believe her luck and Nate became besotted but ‘the course of true love never did run smooth’ and there was the small issue of an ocean between them once filming was over, not to mention she was the ‘girl next door’ to his ‘Hollywood hearthrob’. It had Hallmark Christmas written all over it, but life isn’t a film script. Which is a pity because Nate Jackson was pretty much perfection as book boyfriends go and Holly deserved the best. Spending Christmas with his hilarious, but unfiltered family, who live next door to the ex who broke his heart might just be a step too far, or maybe exactly what was needed to put everything in perspective.

This was a lovely read, because both characters deserved to be seen and wanted for themselves, to be recognised for who they were and not what others wanted from them. Miraculously, their unlikely meeting provided all that, along with some pretty steamy action. So, be warned, this is an open door romance so if you like your romances sweet and not steamy, then this is not the book for you.

I received a digital ARC of this book. This is my first time reading this author, but it won’t be the last. This story is based in Ireland. Holly is an art teacher at an all girls Catholic school. One night while out with her friends, her narcissistic boyfriend shows up and demand she leaves or they’re over. So Holly says “We’re done, I’m staying.” He tells her he will ruin her life for leaving him. Unfortunately for Holly, she has a wardrobe malfunction and he gets it all on video…then proceeds to post it on social media. Parents at the school are outraged, so Holly is put on leave while it’s investigated. Holly’s bff tells her to escape to one of her vacation homes in a small town with spotty service. It had been rented out for 2 months by someone from Hollywood, but they cancelled so it is vacant. Holly takes her up on the offer and escapes. Nate was born in Ireland, but is now an A-list Hollywood action hero celebrity. He finds out his celebrity girlfriend has been cheating on him so he breaks up with her. She tells him he’s just a 1 trick pony because he always does the same character in movies. So when his agent calls and offers him a part in a Hallmark movie filming in a small town in Ireland, he jumps on it. His agent’s assistant was supposed to call and re-book the rental house….but doesn’t. So when Nate arrives he finds a drunk Holly in lingerie belting out Mariah Carey. He instantly is attracted. Holly can’t believe her eyes, her favorite actor, who she’s been in love with for 15 years is standing in the living room. She must be hallucinating. But she’s not. I won’t give anymore details, but you won’t want to stop turning the pages. I read this book in two nights. Can Nate the celebrity fall for a normal girl again? Will Nate run if he finds out about Holly’s viral video? Trigger warning: explicit sex scenes.

Nate and Holly narrate this beautiful story. OMG with Jingle Bells on. Perfectly divinely crafted romance. It’s like a big blockbuster meets hallmark! A laugh out loud , hot romance , with so much chemistry and banter. From reindeer to Santa hats and MARIAH resounding through the room at Heaven on Earth , Holly Hazelwood dreams of her ultimate crush Nate Jackson . Her job as an Art teacher to private school girls at St. Jude’s is a far cry from Saturday night drinking with her besties . Nate has broken up with his celebrity ladder climbing girlfriend and is open to new opportunities away from his normal typecast roles. But when Jayden his agent calls with a movie idea from his rockstar brother Ryan , it’s a Christmas movie based on Ryan and his wife Sasha , he says what the heck , he’ll show the world he’s not just a walking talking tattooed action man…Huxley Castle Dublin … home. Holly’s ex has laid bare her indiscretions on theHeaven on Earth dance floor and it’s viral on TikTok so her friend and head of St. Jude’s Catholic Girls school puts her on suspension and tells her to lie low. Ballybowen the place her friend Savannah’s villa that is normally booked up years in advance has suddenly become available is, so Holly can move in until the New Year. It’s in a tiny seaside village where nothing happens in winter so it’s a perfect escape. All she needs now is Nate Jackson to walk through that door…Ta Da! Brilliant romantic comedy that warms the cockles on a cold winter’s day. Banterific chemistry . Very good writing from Lyndsey that is immersive and fun with sublime feel-good descriptions and awesome characters . The story flows easily and it’s a page-turner epic story . I read a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary and in my own words

Heat & Heart for the Holidays

Tis the season to find a cozy spot to settle into with some hot cocoa and a good book. And every now and then the book is steamier than cocoa and the emotions in the story bring a warmth that lasts so much longer than your drink. That was certainly the case with The Christmas Crush by Lyndsey Gallagher. It really is the perfect blend of heat, hilarity, and heart.

Holly’s story is so much every girl's fantasy, but in such a believable package. It’s Hollywood hotshot meets small town girl. It’s revenge served with a side of righteous indignation. It’s besties who share your pain and bring the bubbly with the support. It’s letting go of past hurts to create new connections. It’s Christmas cheer and spirited fun with a bit of a message entwined in the tinsel.

Because, sure, it features an epically swoony hero, a relatable and loveable heroine, a hilariously adorable meet-cute, and a grand gesture. And the supporting characters are wonderful and bring their own hilarious spin to the story. But it also incorporates some very relevant issues in a digital and social media focused society that might give you some pause to reflect as well. And the villain, yep there’s one of those too, is truly worthy of his comeuppance. And a great catalyst for the entire joyful and humorous HEA Holly and Nate deserve.

The Christmas Crush is an easy story to sink into, is standalone readable, and makes a great entry point to Gallaher’s other books. It’s definitely one I’m looking forward to reading again as well.

#Holiday #Celebrity #ForcedProximity

This holiday romance can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. IT is written in first person from an alternating dual POV. I actually read Dating for December first, but it really made no difference. Both were fine as standalones.

Holly is a young woman at a crossroads. I loved her instantly. I understood her desire to please her parents while attempting to find her way and set boundaries. Her girl gang is stellar and I was so happy that she had friends like Savannah and Ashley that had her back. I loved her natural effervescence and the way she goes into every situation with her whole self. I love that with time alone and time with Nate she finds her real desires in life.

Nate is a movie star who is more than a little surprised when he first sees Holly. I LOVED their meet-cute. I loved how he sees Holly's true being from the beginning. I love their chemistry and their heat. I loved how fast he falls for her. Nate is the real deal. Under the actin hero is a soft hearted man who is looking for love. His protective instincts toward Holly override his fears and insecurities and his love for her allows him to lower the defensive walls he has built to protect himself.

Steamy, swoony, holiday goodness: I can see this book being an annual holiday reread right up there with the movies I watch each Christmas. A thoroughly enjoyable read. I highly recommend.

A fun festive romp!

The Christmas Crush is a holiday romance by Lyndsey Gallagher. It’s a continuation of the Sexton Sisters series with a fun tie-in to her first Christmas Book, Falling for the Rockstar at Christmas. I was lucky enough to read an Advance Review Copy (ARC) and I’m happy to recommend it to you.

There’s something about the Christmas season that makes falling in love even more magical. It must be the tidings of joy, the sparkle, the socialization, and that leftover part of us that believes in Santa Claus. Because, to believe in Santa Claus is to believe in love.

Nate is the hottest Hollywood action superstar and originally from Ireland. He breaks up with his safe girlfriend, then to get away from the gossip, takes a role in, of all things, a cheesy Christmas romance movie. You know the kind… the ones so many of us secretly love to watch?

Holly is on the lam from a disastrous breakup and huge social media embarrassment. She ends up in Western Ireland, staying at a friend’s beautiful house on the ocean. The very same house that Nate will be staying at while filming. Did I mention that Holly has had a crush on this man since she was a teen? How perfect is that?

The Christmas Crush is a sweet and sexy romp that will have you believing in the magic of love… and the magic of Christmas. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Where do I start with this review other than to say Wow Wow Wow. I loved quite a few of the books I've had the pleasure of reading, but this is by far on top of that list now. Holly is an art teacher trying her hardest to make her parents proud of her. Shes always feels like a let down, not good enough and knows how much her mum wants her to marry her boyfriend. When she dumps him in a nightclub on a girls night out, he threatens to make her pay. Releasing a video on tick tock of her dancing and her top falling down. Life becoming unbearable she hides out in her friends villa. When the man of her dreams walks in on her in the middle of the night her life spirals totally out of control. Nate is the man every women wants have as their own, but he has is own insecurities and doubts about himself. This is the start of a brilliant story full of laughter and maybe even a few tears. The characters are really adorable and I would love to be a member of the Jackson's family, they're all so friendly, loveable and accepting as well as hilarious. If your happy to read a steamy romance this is definitely for you. I was extremely lucky enough to receive this as an ARC copy and this is my own personal and honest opinion and review of the book. I hope you'll love it as much I have. Just a warning Nate will become your new Book Boyfriend

I was 100% expecting a fluffy Hallmark-esque Christmas rom-com but in book-form. I love the dual-pov between chapters and the complexity of both characters. The descriptions of Nate falling in love with Holly from his pov killed me, brought me back to life, and had me kicking my feet squealing. His grand gesture towards the end, so elaborate and cute! Holly was adorable and what happened to her made me livid and I wanted to burn the world down. The banter between the two was top-tier and felt like true dialogue between two lovers. I read quite a few pieces to my fiancé, who laughed at the similarities to how we tease each other. The love story is hard and fast, but written so well that it feels so genuine.

It was so cute and fluffy, very romantic, but it was also steaming hot and sexy as hell. Like hot, multiple chili peppers on the scale hot. The sex scenes were incredibly written and so amazing. It was beautifully written. And it didn’t feel like smut for smut’s sake, which sometimes frustrates me. This was sexy and full of heat, but also beautifully counter-balanced with romance and encounters with characters outside of the relationship.

Overall, I loved every page, I loved the couple Nate and Holly, and I want to read the other books in the same universe by Lyndsey.

I love Lyndsey's books.

The sexton sisters is my favourite and this book is connected to that series.

Loved Holly and Nate's romance.

Their meet cute and instant chemistry was amazing.

Nate has been Holly's celebrity crush for 15 years. She cannot believe it when they end up in the same place together.Their chemistry is instant.

Holly is keeping a low profile after she went viral.Nate is running away from his problems and needs to keep a low profile.

As they both spend time with each other their feelings start to get involved.Holly thinks she is not good enough for Nate and Nate doesn't think he is good enough for Holly.

Both their insecurities and pasts come between them, but they eventually realise they are made for each other and get to a very well deserved happily ever after.

There are some characters from the Sexton Sisters series and some amazing new characters.Especially Holly's best friends Savannah and Ashley.Nate's family is amazing.

A heartwarming festive romance with heat, heart, humour and a happily ever after.

Another fabulous romcom by Lyndsey.Cannot wait for the next book.

This book has swoony romance and heat as the two main characters’ one-night stand turns into forever-love. Holly’s dream is to be an artist, but she has been teaching art in a Catholic school in Ireland to meet her parents’ expectations. While having a girls’ night out with friends, a man she had dated captures her on his phone having an accident involving partial nudity. The creep’s video goes viral on social media. Holly escapes to a remote community hoping her unwanted fame will blow over. Meanwhile, Nate is an Irish action star who has been living in California. Nate has accepted an uncharacteristic role in a Christmas romance being quietly filmed in that remote community on the spur of the moment. Nate and Holly meet unexpectedly, and fireworks go off between them. The story does have a lot of adult heat. Holly has always had a big crush on Nate (the movie star), while Nate discovers he is ready for genuine love in his life. These characters’ dual points of view are both engaging and romantic. Recommended! I received an advance copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

The Christmas Crush is basically every woman who has ever pined after a Hollywood star's dream. When Hollywood star, Nate accidentally crashes into the rental in small town Ireland already occupied by Holly and her poodle, the spice begins almost immediately. That same heat continues all the way through the book. It's obviously quite an unrealistic tale, but entertaining none the less.

I did like how the author highlighted the very real, negative side of social media. While it can be a fun and sometimes informative space, it can also be used to slander and destroy the lives of people who do not deserve that type of attention. Holly is on the unfortunate receiving end of an embarrassing, career ruining revenge video put out by her ex, and the author depicted the situation very carefully and realistically.

I'd say this was definitely a very fun, fast read, and it would be great for anyone who enjoys fast moving, spicy, holiday romances!

Holiday Romance / Celebrity / Forced Proximity / HEA

Holly Hazelwood is hiding out at a friend’s remote estate after a video of her goes viral. Her ex-boyfriend is behind the shameful video, which caused her to lose her job and her self-esteem. Nate Jackson, a famous Hollywood action star, has just broken off his relationship with another actress. In her parting words, she accuses him of being a one-trick pony with regard to his roles. His agent offers him a role in a romantic Hallmark holiday film, and he agrees. He shows up at the secret location to relax before the first day of work and finds himself in the same remote estate as Holly. She’s dancing on a table, drinking a bottle of wine, and singing along to Mariah Carey when he walks in. He was her crush growing up, and she can’t believe it’s really him. These two were so much fun together, and I loved how she ended up helping him get through the scenes for the Hallmark movie. And the fire engine scene … brilliant. Loved it so much.

Thank you to BookSirens for an ARC of The Christmas Crush (steamy version) by Lyndsey Gallagher.

I read two books with very similar plots - sweet girls and sexy Hollywood heartthrobs at Christmastime. Reading them almost made me want to get out the Christmas Tree and start being festive!

This was a fun sexy adventure. Holly (perfect name!) is in a tailspin after her ex posts a video of her dancing topless after her dress falls down. She takes off for her bff's house villa on the coast of Ireland. But who does she run into but the man of her dreams who is in town to film a movie. Nate Jackson is an action star trying to turn into a Hallmark star. When the two find each other sparks fly. Soon Nate finds he can't act on set without Holly, his new muse. Will they be able to make it work?

The characters were fun and flirty and had some depth which I appreciate.

All together a great holiday romance.

Thank you to Book Sirens and Lyndsey Gallagher for the opportunity to read an ARC of The Christmas Crush, this is my honest and unpaid review.
This was my first book that I've read by this author and I really enjoyed it! I will definitely be searching out more of her books because she writes so wonderfully. She writes characters that are genuine and relatable, that seem like someone I wouldn't mind hanging out with. I've read a few other books in the same genre recently that did not achieve this sort of thing with their main characters, and because of that I didn't end up really enjoying their books.
I love books set in the UK and been lucky enough to spend some time on the west & northern coast of Ireland. Reading this book took me right back there again. However, I did not have a guy like Nate show up in my AirBnB, I wish! This book gave me some Love Actually, Bridget Jones vibes with some of the Hallmark Christmas (only the good ones) movie magic mixed in, but with significant more Christmas spice!

Holly is hiding from the world trying to forget and be forgotten, so she can come back to her life after a while. Nate, a well known actor, accepts in a rush decision to participate in a film, and when he arrives to his rental house, he finds Holly already there.

Holly is full of complexes and insecurities, too worried about what others think. She didn't really got out of her head up until the very end.

Nate's first relationship left him scarred and his last one made him rush into a huge career change. He's the one that's able to mover forward, thanks to what he feels for Holly. I enjoyed seeing him evolve and embrace the changes un his life.

It's an insta-lust, insta-love book. I enjoyed the get to know and bliss phase, but I didn't like that much the last part, It felt too cliché.

It's an ok read, being in the Sexton Sister's universe but we can not see much of them.

I've received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving an honest review.

Oh my gosh, I absolutely loved everything about The Christmas Crush!

I’m a sucker for holiday romances, especially Christmas ones, and this one did not disappoint! And with my own personal love for Dublin and itch to return back to Ireland to explore more, the book being set in a small Irish coastal village pulled me right in. This book gave me all the feels and was what I needed.

When Holly, the FMC, becomes the face of a viral meme, she escapes to a villa for the holidays, only to come face-to-face with Nate, a famous movie star and long-time crush. Their immediate meet cute did me in because from there, it’s a roller coaster of feels that will have you cheering for Holly and Nate till the end ♥️

This book has it all: romance, spice, comedy, all set in a whirlwind of the holidays in Ireland 💚 It can’t get any better!

First off, this ARC was provided by the author & publisher via BookSirens in exchange for my honest review.

Holy moly I stayed up past 1am to finish this book, and that’s impressive since I sleep at 10am and work early! 🤣. This book is soooo good!!!! I’ve never read a Lyndsey Gallagher book and I want to read them all!

From the beginning it drew me in and I couldn’t put it down because the story and writing and so good! I loved that its dual POV, pace was perfect, its funny, that its during Christmas (my favourite season) and throw in a celebrity, its my perfect happiness all written up on a book. Those steamy scenes were super 🔥🔥🔥too!

Holly and Nate were such a fun couple to read about! That meet cute is going to be one to remember and if I was single i would want to meet my future hubs that way too…. Dang it was soooo 🔥🔥🔥 😅. The author just gained a new fan! 🫶🏻
