Erotic romance – m/m/f
Disclaimer – I am a Melissa Schroeder fan girl and when offered the opportunity to review an ARC of A Little Harmless Fantasy I squeed and said yes please. That being said I tried to step back and write a fair and honest review.
I think this may be the very best thing I've read by this author. When I received the ARC I was in the middle of reading another book. I was good, I finished it and wrote my review, cooked and ate dinner and then sat down and read this book in one sitting. I could not put it down.
Maura Dillion is Conner’s baby sister and the light of his life. She is also a genius geek and all grown up although you wouldn't know it from the way he treats her. Maura is frustrated as she hasn't been in a relationship since she and Zeke (Conner’s best friend and business partner and Maura’s co-worker) stopped seeing each other. She still loves him but he can’t give her what she needs sexually and now he is back with his first love Rory.
Rory had a near death experience epiphany that made him realize he loved and needed Zeke in his life forever. Rory realizes Zeke is still somewhat in love with Maura and his confidence is shaky, a new feeling for him.
Zeke should be happy. Rory is back and says he is staying. If he leaves again it will tear him up beyond repair. He still loves Maura and has never felt as bad as he did when he realized he couldn't be all that she needed.
When Rory finds out why Zeke and Maura broke up he gets an awful wonderful idea. Conner has them all going to Hawaii for a week to get them out of town while the FBI handles a case that Conner & Zeke's company helped them build against a cartel. Maura needs a Dom and Rory is a Dom but only with women, Zeke likes to watch he knows this as they've shared before. Maybe they can have it all for a week and get it out of Zeke and Maura’s system and have a little fun in the process. But when it actually happens he is surprised to find himself being drawn to Maura as well. Can they take a fantasy and make it work for a lifetime?
Warning this book puts out more steam than a Hawaiian volcano. In most ménage stories I have a problem with seeing how the personalities would mesh long term. Not so here. It is like they are the missing parts of each other. I loved the characters in this story but was especially impressed with how strong Maura was. If you want a truly smoking ménage read this book.

I have been waiting for this one since Maura and Zeke first turned up in the series and was more intrigued by them when in the last book we were introduced to Rory and his place in Zeke's life.
When the trio first got to Hawaii I loved how they were, their chemistry was off the charts and each of their kinks played into the others, so that was a bonus. I really liked that Zeke and Maura knew they loved each other, that Rory and Zeke loved each other, the only wild card was going to be how Maura and Rory interacted. I loved seeing both of them fall for the other, especially Rory because he kept giving excuses. I wondered how that would resolve itself, too bad it took most of the rest of the book.
I hated how Zeke, Rory, and even Connor couldn't/wouldn't listen to what Maura said about being attacked. This is what started the first cracks in the new relationship that was so fragile, the loss of trust. Things only went downhill from there with trust being at the center of things. I hated how Maura seemed to spiral inside herself, hiding away, but really why wouldn't she, no one would listen to her.
I loved it when finally Maura was proven right, but hated how things unfolded from there. It was great that instead of waiting to be rescued, Maura rescued herself.
I was very disappointed Zeke and Rory when they let Maura go. Turns out that Zeke had a plan, he had to get Rory to admit his feelings for Maura or things wouldn't work. I loved how Zeke did this and then how the men went after their girl.
As glad I was to see the boys go after Maura, I liked that she made them work for her affections again, that she didn't rollover let them walk all over her. The ending was great and I can't wait to see more of them in other books.

Ha Cha-cha. Give me a fan and let me cool down. This book was just plain hot. This was my first Melissa Schroeder read and let me tell you it will not be my last.
You would think that being ordered by your boss and brother to spend a week or so in Hawaii with your super-hot, dark skin, Irish coworkers, would be the shit. Well Maura Dillon has a slight issue with that. Maura has had more than one fantasy about her coworkers, Zeke (Maura's ex and hot guy number one) and Rory (hot guy number two and Zeke's current and longtime love.) Her past with Zeke, makes her think is not a good idea.
Rory seductively propositions Maura to spend the time in Hawaii playing with them. Zeke could not be the Dom the she needed but lets her in on Zekes secret. He liked to watch and the rumors about him were true. Yes, Rory was a Dom! Maura tries to come up with a good reason this not to do this. She gives into her desires and hops on this wild and emotional ride that pushes the trio to each of their limits to hold on.
I went looking for a hot read. I got that and more in A Little Harmless Fantasy. A great story filled with a wealth of emotion, passion and naughtiness. Characters with alluring personalities, that make you want to like, feel for them and even yell at a time or two! Real life issues add flair and the right bit of drama! OMG, those dirty talking Irishmen, I could hear those accents in mind!!!
Hands down this was a great book. A 5 Star read! I will be going back to the beginning of the series and read more!!!

OMG.......emotional roller coaster anyone? The Harmless world just gets better and better! This is my new favorite Harmless story...sorry Evan....I loved the intensity and getting to visit with some Harmless favorites!!
Menage is a favorite fantasy and having a strong woman find her fantasy is the ultimate! Maura is my favorite Harmless female and she is brilliant, tough and strong! Nothing better!!

Unfortunately this was my least favorite read this year. Not only does it have major editing errors, but the story is choppy, annoying, and the characters make me want to strangle them. The story didn't feel well developed making it difficult to read. Suffice to say, I had many issues with this book and it was nearly a DNF.

Awesome menage story with suspense and BDSM dominance/spanking. I finally got this story to the top of my TBR pile when I signed up for Melissa's ARC reading group. She's re-issuing these stories now that he has the rights back and the newest ones, Ride & Secret, are being expanded.
Maura Dillon is the computer expert for her brother's security company. She is incredibly intelligent and went to college as a young teen. That causes personal and relationship issues, she's always known she was different. She was pretty much raised by her much older brother Conner when their parents were killed and she has a very close relationship with him. Her best friend from college is now married to Conner. Conner's best friend and business partner is Zeke has a past relationship with Maura and they still love each other. It didn't work out because Maura knows she's a sub and Zeke can't give that to her.
The book starts a few years after Zeke and Maura's break-up. Zeke is now living with his lover Rory whom he's known since his teens. They grew up in Ireland and worked undercover for the government. Now Rory works in Connor & Zeke's security company. They've had an on again, off again relationship. Rory is committed to stay and he knows Zeke and Maura still love each other. His solution is to try a threesome on a vacation week in Hawaii as he and Zeke have a history of sharing women. Rory hopes Zeke works Maura out of his system. Instead it becomes more for all of them. Rory is a Dom and Maura feeds his needs. What starts as short term fun becomes more very quickly. To complicate matters it seems someone is out to kill or hurt Maura. Danger always amps up the emotions and Rory falls hard for Maura.
This is a fabulous story of finding you can open your heart and trust someone else to love you through the difficult times in life. That you must trust and see with your heart, have faith. Thank you Melissa for adding me to your review team.

Rough Fantasy
Maura is in love with Zeke. Rory is in love with Zeke. Zeke is in love with both Maura and Rory. The problem is that no pairing of them works completely because the pair is always missing something. Can three people find lasting love together?
The concept starts with Maura and Zeke couldn’t work as a couple because she needed something he absolutely couldn’t give her. The rest of the story is about people finding out that they fit together and how. Zeke has been in love with Rory for a decade, but Rory runs from commitment. They are trying their relationship again because Rory is ready this time. Maura thinks Rory dislikes her. Through the course of the story they have to discover how they fit together. The author did a good job allowing three people to find a way to love each other. There is a little time spent on how others react to their three way relationship. A large portion of the story is about the adult activities they do. There is a bad guy but only plays a small role in the story.
I had hoped that this story would have big emotions but it fell a bit flat. I didn’t get the hit of fast love that I normally get from these stories which was disappointing. I also didn’t get the tension level from the bad guy that I have come to expect which was also disappointing.
This is a contemporary romance that takes place in Hawaii and Florida. This is a story of three way love. Even though I didn’t love this story it was a good addition to the series and I am glad Maura got her story. I will definitely read more stories from this author in the future.

This is the 3rd book in the Rough 'n Ready series featuring the HOT and steamy menage romance between Rory,Zeke and Maura. Maura is a geek but she's also a genius although you wouldn't know that she's all grown up and so smart with the way that her older brother Conner treats her. That might be because he raised her after their parents died making them extremely close. Maura can't understand why her relationship with Zeke who works with Conner didn't work out especially with all the passion between them. Then Maura sees Zeke and Rory together and she witnesses the affection and attraction between the two men and she knows that she can't compete with that. However what Maura doesn't know is that Rory and Zeke both want her too. Once Rory hears why Zeke and Maura broke up he knows that the trip to Hawaii that they're going on is the answer. It could be a great opportunity for them to explore their desires and give Maura what she needs. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this HOT and steamy menage romance to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

Things Just Got Steamy!
If you don't enjoy M/M/F romances, don't read! The book is as HAWT as the cover portrays!
Loving a man who can't fully love you will be a problem for many women... But when you are Maura Dillon and you have 2 ALPHA males loving you, you can't ask for more...
Maura couldn't understand what happened to her relationship with Zeke. They had more passion that most, but things ended. She couldn't understand why... But then she saw Zeke with Rory. The attraction and affection that the two men shared for each other gave Maura the idea that she couldn't compete with that.
But little did she know... The attraction Zeke & Rory had for each other was also for her as well! Now Maura had to deal with two men who had a lot of love to give... Waiting to give it to her! They didn't know if it would work, but they were willing to try it out and Maura secretly wanted to know what all that love felt like!
ALH Fantasy has all the STEAMINESS that you can handle. You have 3 people trying to balance work & pleasure... And when danger arises, you have two Alpha males trying to protect what matters most to them... Maura! This is definitely a well played threesome...

I have read all of the ALH series and absolutely love it. This is no exception...it might actually be one of my favorites...the more the merrier...haha. I'm not big on putting spoilers into my reviews, so you won't get too many details here, just a heads up. I absolutely love Maya, she has to be one of the most kick ass heroines. I love a heroine who is a little nerdy and super creepy smart. I have wanted her book since Conner's book, so am glad to have read this. As for her love interests, you can't go wrong with two attractive Irish men. I love how the characters are developed and that it isn't a simple recipe of boy(s) meet girl and fall in love. Love and relationships are heard work and this shows that. The characters are so relatable even though it is a menage that you can feel what they are feeling. That is such a beautiful thing about Melissa's writing.

Maura Dillon was a brilliant woman who ran her brother Connor Dillon's security office in Miami...but as Connor recently married Maura's bestie and former college roomie, Jillian...he was opening an office in Honolulu, leaving her with Zeke, Connor's longtime business partner and Maura's former boyfriend...but even though Zeke was still in love with Maura, he also loved Rory...so when trial was taking place for man that Dillon Security and Maura's computer skills helped FBI arrest, Connor decided Maura, Zeke and Rory should leave Miami until trial over...but Rory knows Zeke still not over Maura, but will bringing her into a relationship with the two of them while in Hawaii finally cure Zeke of his attachment to Maura or will he also fall in love with her??? Wow, this may be my favorite book in this series!
I fell in love immediately with Zeke, Rory and Maura’s dynamics. Zeke dated Rory on and off over ten years, until Rory seems to be staying for good. Zeke also dated Maura previously, but broke it off as he couldn’t give her what she needed. I love how Rory takes the initiative to present an idea to Maura about a freeing week in Hawaii with them. Maura will always love Zeke, and the thought that her fantasy may finally come true is too good to pass up. But with each of the books in the Rough and Ready series, there is an element of danger and suspense targeting Maura. Maura has her belief that it is not related to their case, and more to do with Zeke and Rory which they doubt along with her brother. Will Zeke and Rory figure out what went wrong with their fledgling relationship with Maura? I loved Maura who is one kick-ass woman!

Maura has always been the odd man out and it remains that way when Rory comes back into Zeke’s life. She watches from the outside as the two men connect once again. That is until Rory asks her that a one question. Maura is not sure if her heart can stand a chance to spend time with the two men and find herself on the outside again.
I enjoyed the way the three fit together. It was nice to see the way their relationship takes shape and the emotions that come into play. Maura is a strong woman and she makes Zeke and Rory work. Their bond grows as they spend more time together. Zeke has never stopped loving her and Rory realizes that Maura has found her way into his heart. Their adventure moves at a good pace and has a good mix of danger and romance.

A vacation they will never forget
Rough Fantasy is the third book in the Rough 'n Ready series. This book was previously released as A Little Harmless Fantasy, so you may have read it before. This version has been reworked a bit, with an updated title and cover and now in a new series. The story is about Maura, Rory and Zeke. You don’t want to miss this steamy love story about three people who start with just a week of fun, but find so much more. To complicate their budding D/s relationship, Maura has to deal with an attack from a stalker, a fight for survival, and heartache when she believes the men she loves do not love her enough. It’s quite a bumpy ride with twists and turns and plenty of HOT passion.
This is an intriguing romance with strong, interesting characters, and fast paced action. Once you begin this engaging tale, you may find it hard to put down. I highly recommend this book. It’s part of a wonderful series, but can easily be read as a standalone.

This is Book 3 of Rough 'n Ready starring Maura Dillon, Zeke Bryant, and Rory McAllister. So I will start at the end and say that last couple of chapters I so wanted to kick all three men in the privates. To say you don’t think a woman knows what happened to her will tick off any woman but then to call her names will have them pulling away in all the wrong directions but to you. I have to say I am not into guy on guy but these three work so well I didn’t even notice when the two males were together. I have to say I loved the attitude these three share together and with the other characters. This is a powerful love triangle that is a must read.

Rough Fantasy is the 3rd book in the Rough'n Ready series, expanded for this anniverary edition. It could have done with another round of edits, as there are still a number of typos. It is not necessary to have read previous books, but recommendable to fully appreciate all the characters reappearing in this story. This is an engaging MMF romance with steamy scenes in all constellations, some with swords crossing, set against a subplot of suspense and danger, but with the clear focus on the developing dynamic, where each of the three main characters has to come to the conclusion that it takes all three of them comitted to each other to find their HEA.

This was a well written and incredibly hot menage read! With suspense, some BDSM, emotion and plenty of sizzle, this read will be one you'll have to come down from. Our main characters are Maura who is escaping to HI while things settle down at home from an intense and dangerous trial going on. Her brother insists that Zeke and Rory go too and while you'd think things would be awkward with Zeke being her ex and now being with Rory - Maura's forbidden fantasy looks to be coming true only will this seemingly island affair turn into more when the emotions can't be ignored, and danger strikes. Such a captivating and sizzling hot romance read! I can't wait to see what's next from Schroeder!

I love this series! This is a re-read for me and since it has been several years it was like coming home and settling in with old friends once again. Zeke and Maura used to have a relationship until they didn't. Now they still work together but Zeke and Rory are together. Now all three are going together to Hawaii after a particularly rough case when they need to get off the radar at Colin's insistence. They have a house together and it is the perfect time for a little more than just sharing space but to share a little more. Maura has always had a submissive side to her and Rory is the ultimate Dom. Will the three of them find they can share and find their way or will real life find a way to get in the way. What will happen when real life comes calling?

This is a love story in two parts that becomes whole. Zeke and Maura have loved each other, but neither can be totally what the other desires. Their friendship remains strong but fraught with yearning. Rory and Zeke have been with each other through thick and thin as friend and lovers. When desires are addressed what should have been an erotic moment or two or three, flames out of control. With passions and emotions enflamed there is no turning back for any of the triad. Insecurities, unspoken issues, passion, emotions, and danger swirl, creating havoc for them all, especially when Maura is the target. I enjoyed both the plot and the characters

In true Melissa Schroeder fashion, the heroes are alpha but flawed and the heroine is just as alpha but with her own set of flaws. Rory and Zeke seem an unlikely pair and an even more unlikely couple, but they work. With Maura added to the mix you have a bundle of angst, emotion, and off the charts sex. Some suspense in the middle of it all makes this book perfect!
The book flowed at just the right pace, the characters were well developed and their stories - both individually and collectively - were beautifully written.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

Maura may be a nerdy tech, who over thinks things, but she was also willing to step out onto the ledge and try a threesome with Zeke and the other love of his life, Rory. Zeke is her Ex, who still loves her, but can't provide what she needs in the bedroom. However, Rory can be the Dom she needs, but has commitment issues. When the three travel to Hawaii for a weeks stay, the heat is off the charts until Maura is being stalked. I loved the dynamics between the triad, but they had a hard time being open with each other about everything. Add in big brother, Connor, refusing to see Maura as an adult, this was a must read addition to the Rouch 'n Ready series.

Great story. Maura has had a relationship with Zeke but they ended it when he couldn't give her what she wanted sexually. Along comes Rory, a dom with the dark hair, blue eyes and a irish accent, but he belongs to Zeke and is off limits. Rory knows that they have had a relationship and he thinks that by having a threesome while in Hawaii for a week, that Zeke and Maura will get over their feelings. This is the three learning if the threesome will work while hiding from danger. I enjoyed reading this story.

Another great read in the "A Little Harmless" series! What started as a week of fun for Zeke, Rory, and Maura can become something much more, if they let it. Maura is one of my favorite heroines. She's tough and smart and cares deeply. Zeke and Rory are a great match for her and each other. I've been waiting to read this since Maura appeared in Connor's story. A Little Harmless Fantasy is not just a sexy story, but shows great character development and the effort those characters put in to a relationship to make it work.

I really loved this book!
This one is a highly captivating, unputdownable romance with unforgettable characters that made me smile, laugh, swoon and cringe a bit ( I wanted to shake Zeke and Rory up a couple of times so bad loll).
Loved the whole storyline with lots of intricate emotions, heat, chemistry and good doses of very good drama.
Highly recommended book and series; will certianly read it again !!.

I love that Maura is such a strong character. She has her doubts but overall she is steadfast and strong. She is stubborn. I love that Zeke and Rory are able to bring her sassy out to play. I love that Zeke seems open, but holds his most prized secrets close to the vest. I love that Rory's heart starts to heal. The danger was well written and came from an unexpected place, well unexpected for the guys. It is always fun to revisit the Rough n Ready family.
